Someday I will have this amazing camera! Oh wait I already have the a99 LOL
Just wait until Steve Huff finds out, how amazing this camera really is…
Hasselblad camera, an english has-been footballer, it’s only right that it should be on a sony rumours site
Better being a has been than a never been Bob.
Better to be a never been than a never will be too, BobSucks. In short, don’t try to insult me; I’ll always outwit you
… And this is a perfect example of the “Dunning-Kruger effect” or “illusory superiority”…
It’s not; if you actually studied psychology (like I have), you’d realise that you’re trying to attribute the wrong label to me; furthermore, congrats on reading 10 words of a wikipedia article.
For your information, Dunning-Kruger effect isn’t simply illusory superiority (which you’d know if you studied psychology) and if you actually learned a bit about it, you’d realise you don’t have the necessary mental tools to be able to judge “BobSucks” and myself; furthermore, if you weren’t so ignorant, you’d realise “don’t try to insult me; I’ll always outwit you” is a quote. It is the worst example of the Dunning-Kruger effect
Where did you study psychology?
Wikipedia
I’m glad I annoy you to the point you use the name “Bob”, “BobSucks”, etc. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
Why am I talking to myself?
Look at the IPs; you aren’t
Oxford and Sheffield in the UK. I did not study psychoanalysis at Oxford.
A lot of Dunning’s conclusions are strange to say the least but the general gist of it I agree with (for the most part). He tries to prove the incompetent suffers anosognosia while the competent simply misjudge others when in reality, Dunning and Krugers results show equal “miscalibration” of the competent about themselves and not just relative to other abilities.
This is perhaps more subjective and not scientifically proven but if you look at a lot of painters and you ask the really good one’s “how good are you at painting?”, they’ll often say “I’m terrible! I make so many mistakes!” I believe that they simply get better at judging their mistakes, they have the tools required for certain “right answers” (quote because it should be ‘correct’ not “right”) but they underestimate themselves. If you ask the same painter how good another painter is, they won’t reply in a way comparable to Dunning’s conclusions. I’m quoting Dunning because Kruger had slightly different conclusions but like me, came to a common agreement
“you don’t have the necessary mental tools to be able to judge BobSucks and myself”
It seems you are defending “BobSucks”… why?
“don’t try to insult me; I’ll always outwit you is a quote”
quote of whom?
Actually, its Sony camera with Hasselblad name on it. And some piece of wood or whatever
A multi-millionaire has-been footballer… get it right.
It seems redundant to say multimillionaire when talking about football. I had it right the first time
I’m always right… I’m a genius with a 156 IQ… I can’t be wrong… you just can’t compete with my massive intellect….
If you’re going to completely miss my point, yeah.
The Beckham’s had the opportunity to be photographed by Britain’s best living photographer. They went on to make demands like retention of negatives etc. They got told to piss-off. Good for the photographer, we need more like that!!!
Said the one who spend several hours here….
You must be new here if you don’t know that the Hasselblad HV is actually a SONY A99…
Probably a promotional item, celebrities get swag like this all the time.
Something wrong with the link, here is the working one @ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2944824/Doting-father-David-Beckham-snaps-pictures-Harper-three-enjoy-daddy-daughter-day-out.html
Id own one too if i had his account to go along with it… why not
I was going to buy this or a car. So like, yeah, I went with the car.
But not a car like David has.
Probably, Davids wheels cost that much. LOL
Best running gag ever !
What is the funniest part about this camera is that for the same money he could buy real bloody Hasselblad 40. But, those people who pay 11000 for HV, probably never heard about H5D-40.
Who said football was keeping your brain working ;)….. When we see them talking we already know most of them are that stupid enough person Vlad was talking about ;)…
If DB would have bought a H5D-40 just to photograph his doughter in the streets, THAN I would call him a dumbass.
Nobody is dumb, just because of wasting some serious cash for a luxury item. If he likes the HV for whatever reason, good for him. But advise him to buy an MF camera instead, sounds really clueless (if not totally dumb).
I never advised him to buy anything god forbid… Neither i called anyone “dumb” for not hearing about some product. Where your argument starts, it could easily end with “Why is he using 35mm to photograph his doughter in the streets, he could do it with his phone”. Talking about dumb…
Agreed
they probably gave it to him for free. there’s no chance a stupid enough person exists to buy such decoy.
My guess is that people who earn this much in 2 minutes probably dont bother to spend time researching what is the best offer. If they need a camera, they walk in BHphoto and ask for most expensive one, presuming its probably the best.
On the other hand, if you have that kind of money, then you don’t need to be on the lookout for the best offer. You buy what you like and what you can afford, nothing wrong with that.
Thats exactly what i said.
No, you said that they don’t bother to, I said that they don’t need to.
You might want to consider changing your profile image…
You seem embarrassed in the picture… “facepalm gesture”…
It’s a demo gag. No strap on the camera. Not his.
Somebody handed this to him and said “Go be seen with it”.
Last photos he looks like a dope wondering how to juggle the camera and his daughter’s sweater.
In reality, $11k is a daily income of a successful dentist. No wonder that celebrities buy these cameras.
Are you out of your mind? The best you can ever get as a skilled worker (top in your field) is 500k/yr.
I am a dentist specializing in implants and gum surgeries. 1hr = $1k.
expensive doesn’t mean better.
Cheap doesn’t mean better
for those of you who have forgotten, david beckham has also been spotted out with the hasselblad lunar
http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/guess-who-just-bought-the-hasselblad-lunar-david-beckham/
Bahahah i cannot believe this guy… But David Lynch? That guy knows about photography wtf is wrong with him?
Why must there be something wrong with him? If you can afford a Hasselblad HV, Lunar or Stellar, and if you happen to like the design more than the Sony counterpart, why wouldn’t you buy it? After all, it’s the exact same camera internally, so you aren’t getting a worse product. The photographic capabilities are the same.
Implying that people who know about photography wouldn’t buy a luxury product is just plain ignorant.
I am not implying that people who know about photography wouldnt buy luxury product. Calling Hasselblad Lunar a luxury product is ignorant. Luxury has to have some quality as a component. Leica noctilux is a luxury. Hasselblad Lunar is a joke.
What do you know about the quality of the Lunar? Anyway, luxury products are mainly defined by the use of rare, expensive materials, such as Italian wood, crocodile skin, gold etc.
Ok then, so we can simply say David Beckam shoots Sony cameras!
Although I don’t believe he’s bought any of his Hasselblad cameras, surely these would have been given to him for marketing purposes by Hasselblad.
I hope admin. let’s us know if anyone clicks on that link and buys it.
I just did. But they won’t let me take delivery in the psych ward. And even if they did, I couldn’t use the camera in my straight jacket. Typing this post with my nose. Crazy like that.
I know you guys think this HasSony is a joke… and it is… but…
I must admit, I think it’s an absolutely gorgeous camera. Would love if Sony made this as a Titanium a99II. Just love the looks of this thing. Almost as much as the Max 9Ti.
http://www.optyczne.pl/upload2/23005_9ti.jpg
You’re more likely to get a cheeky cha cha white or red version from Sony team. They just don’t have the premium vision necessary to create such things. Not talking about the gold plated versions made for collectors. I mean the real user premiums that pros have real reason to purchase as the top shelf blue chip rugged offerings… Like…

http://www.olympus.co.jp/jp/corc/history/camera/popup/image/pop_om_om3ti.jpg
Sony is incapable of providing such creations. And if they did, they’d put a plastic lens mount on it and destroy the flash system in the process… Just to see the look on your face.
Had that Nikon, it ran on a tiny button cell (near useless) and even with a drive on, the button cell had to be in the body. Plus, the exposure lock button would drop off for no apparent reason. I’d take ANY A7x over an F3………. But that Olympus OM-3 was a proper camera, as are the new M4/3 Olympus cameras.
I used two F3’s for nearly 15 years professionally on a daily basis. I never lost the exposure lock button.
The button cell? Seriously? Do you really prefer the A7 in terms of battery, build quality and reliability? The little button cell in the F3 lasted many month even in heavy usage. And the F3 still worked with a 1/60 sec if the battery is dead. Do you really complain about that feature?
I know, everyones taste is different, but to me, the F3 is one of the greatest cameras ever.
I bought the F3 shortly after it was introduced, mine had the first of three design changes on the exposure lock button, it fell out all the time. Then later on it was an employer supplied camera, this one had no issues with the lock button. But my job involved many hours scrambling around in cold inhospitable places and those batteries sucked big time, tiny fiddly little things. First rule of cold climate photography, one camera around your neck & one in your pack, the one around my neck was alway DOA in pretty short order.
Honestly, I’d take any Nikon over an F3. I bought an FA for personal use, it was a far far better camera. The best camera of the bunch back then was the F100 IMO.
I’d take my quirky little Sony’s any day over the F3, they haven’t they me down after 12 months of daily use, but they’re far from perfect!!!
OK, then I got lucky. I also never worked much in the cold. But speaking of working in the cold, my guess is that all digital cameras, especially mirrorless w. EVF, suck much more than any film body from the old days.
I fully agree with the F100!! Possibly the best film body from Nikon. (I never tried the F6, though.)
Cold is a funny thing, broken more than one roll film camera back in the cold. The Canon 5D’s with the LP-E6 batteries performed flawlessly in the very coldest conditions. But my mirrorless stuff has been in warmer climates lately. I’ve had the A7R shutdown due to heat, that could be an issue in warmer regions!
Shooting with mirrorless for stills only wouldn’t be my ideal choice, I’d rather take a 5D. But for video & audio it’s superb, so I’m compromising……… hoping the system usability on the stills side will catch up quickly.
LOL so why didn’t you just get the cold weather adapter? I have them for my Nikons, Contax and Mamiya.

I think its a 1/80th and I love mine but I also love my F5.
The big humpty dump body style of a99 could easily emulate the beautiful R8 style…
http://www.letsgodigital.org/html/events/PHOTOKINA-2004/news/leica/LEICA-R9-IMAGE-002.jpg
WOW I hope the A9 will look like that!
well $11,500 is like $1.15 to him so I guess it’s okay for him
Spoken like a true demon fox. I could actually hear Karuna’s voice behind your comment.
David Beckham got high IQ.
Either DB is plain stupid, or he was doing all that for publicity
But either way, it’s still an a99 with the unnecessary sugarcoating that jacks up the price to sky-high levels
Even if you’re a millionaire and have all the money to spend on badge-engineering gadgets, don’t do it; why not save the extra money on something else like quality life insurance
Besides, you won’t get good results with any Leica, Zeiss, Hassy etc. if you don’t have the necessary and basic photo skills
Now imagine someone shooting with a Sony-based Hassy with… Green Auto mode……
You have a fantastic job my friend… How much do you charge for insulting successful multi millionaires and then telling them what they should be doing with their money instead of buying fancy cameras?
I want a job like that.
What if Hasselblad actually paid him to use their cameras?
I doubt that.
Why? they gave some to David Lynch for free.
It’s so easy to dismiss rich people as being stupid, but the fact is that very few people get rich by being stupid.
Besides, we all buy stuff that we can afford, and there are always people with a smaller disposable income (or no income at all), who can’t afford the things we buy. So if rich people are stupid just because they buy stuff that they can afford, then that argument goes for all of us.
He’s on only a (retired?) football player you know, you can’t ask much from him…
You don’t have the faintest idea how people are that do not know what to do with their money. It is of absolutely no interest for his bank account if he pays 5000 or 12000. And those people also want to have exclusive things. An A99 is too standard. Sorry, but this is how those people think. Life insurance? lol :)…
Just received this news
Sony will offer david beckham to join the Sony Artisan group.
always the stupid-non stupid discussion.
who is stupid? the person who says, something, somebody is stupid,
because he (it) does not do something, the person wants to have in
a monocrome view of – ARROGANT DICTATURE and a way of IDIOTIC!
so if we take this person here, and we say, he is stupid, so we put him into a
Prisson, because he is not, waht we want in the way we see a monocrome
world, and so evrybody must becleaned, brainwashed, internet-disliked and
so onß
Do this one person here, with a lowbending curve of iQ-usenes Number 10
maybe below, think, that his is fine, good maybe tanger in a other way the
human rights and is the beginnig of all sadness and bad?
is it?
So would Sigmund Freud maybe Victor Frankel say, this one Person is not
able to use its small but mechnaical working low IQ, becvhaue this is overrunn
with the one action, to say ” this pertson and waht he does is stupid?”
DO YOU COPPY? hm? and think you are a part of masse of humans.
you do nothing
you invent nothing
you have made never something, may be sports
you do WHAT THE MARKETING SAYS
and this knows, taht you are a poor person in a tiny life in a litte room,
that shelters your possibilites…
open your mind.. if this person x use this camera, let him.
maybe..he gets some 500.000.000 more- so he is NOT STUPID..
the problem is you are stupid– you pay 499,- for a camera..
the customer is alwas the stupid..idiot in this game….
sad.but truht..
so smile and be happy, taht we can read this on this blog, and someboy ( ADMIN)
shows us all about cameras. i like it. peace. live long. and get happy.
spock
You are way too emotional for being a Vulcan.
Thank you for your input, Mr. Spock….
Try to get your own website to post your thoughts
Is that a total lack of logic I detect?
DB is the epitome of style over substance, so I’m not surprised…
He probably received it for free.
Now i want to see who dares to say he is a sucker….
I do.
He is, but certainly not because of that camera!
Who says he bought it or paid anything for it?
Consumer product manufacturers, especially luxo consumer product manufacturers, have a long tradition of given free items to celebs and their spouses, with the only request that they ‘be seen in public’ wearing or using the item. This is done with luxo brand watches, sunglasses, etc.
This is done by manufacturers because a) the item actually cost them very little to produce compared to retail price, b) the expense can be written off as a promotional expense, c) people talk about the item and the person wearing it in the media, including gossip blogs, qed.
The Hasselblad logo is not prominent enough. I am pretty sure he bought it.
They probably gave it to him in the hope that some mugs might be “incentivised” to buy that camera disguised as a brick…
… $12k for the camera AND you get $30 off Lightroom!
More money than sense
You really think David Beckham had to buy this?
Why would he not!?
For the same reason David Lynch didn’t. Beckham doesn’t have to buy stuff except maybe cars and houses. Everything else is given to him and his wife by PR people who want them to be seen in there product or using their product. Thats just marketing 101.
What’s wrong with that? Does anyone deny that the A99 and the 24-70/2.8Z are both great? So, David paid more for it. Good. So what? He is a bored millionaire and spending 12k on a camera is a rather good option. Think of what other bored millionaires do with their money?
I, for example, brought the A6000+35/1.8+24/1.8+charger, battery … nearly 2k to have a light travel camera to shoot my son. David Beckham paid 6x the money I did to do the same. I’m pretty sure, the Beckhams have more than 6x of my money. So, who is more stupid?
Good point!
I don’t think he paid for it. I think they have it to him.
Why would they, there is no advertisement for them!? Plus, David can easily pay this.
I don’t understand why you’re mocking this fine Hasselblad HV; it has a very nice feature A99 lacks and I’d gladly see implemented: detachable strap fixed on lugs (the same way my Mamiya RZ67 does). I’m not sure I’m prepared to pay 10000$ for that, though.
I love these Sonyblads. They give us so much fun on SAR and other forums. After all that tragic, furious anger and desperated whining about the dying A-mount in almost all theads on SAR, it is so refreshing to hear some silly stuff. Its good for the heart and reminds us to better take things not too seriously.
Cheers!
For everybody of you thinking he is stupid: sorry, but do you have ANY idea how many people buy leather interior addons or expensive wooden interiors for their Audi A8 or Rolls Royce or any expensive car? Do you know how much that addon costs, which brings absolutely no speed or anything practical? … How many people spend 1000s of dollars to get cooler rims for their cars’ wheels? They want to have something they like, something that looks special.
Why do you think a Hasselblad is such a “nobody buys it” camera? Do you think you are smarter than Hasselblad and know the market? Please look outside the people and lifesstyle YOU know and be more open to other people. For DB $7000 to have something that is special is a steal. You know how much money flows into his rooms of his villa(s) or cars?
