  1. Sony flash… rhymes with Phoney trash.

I’ll start thinking about Sony flash when Sony starts thinking about Sony flash.

For the price of the new Sony, you can get a used 5600hs/56am with a Phottix Odin smart slave kit. I use eight of them on a900. Really nice to have a reliable strobist kit with native quick release and vast third party support.

I refuse to reward the company who killed A-Mount strobists dead. Rather rude of them, to be polite. I thought Sony was supposed to support their most loyal. Boy was I wrong.

  2. And PLEASE bring back a900 “Intelligent Preview”. It’s much better for strobist work than EVF preview. Can analyze image and adjust flash fill and ambient independently. EVF preview does not compare to Intelligent Preview for strobist work.

Jeez and stop forcing that EVF to gain up just because a flash has been attached. Attaching flash to EVF camera should not mandate loosing “Settings Effect ON”. I want to see the real ambient exposure so to better fill the shadows with.

Sony single handedly DESTROYED the A-Mount strobist. The very customer that probably spends most on native gear and is most loyal to brand… or would if they could.

Yes I’m still pissed. Over a year since a99 MIS shoe with NO third party support and nothing but complaints about flagship flash performance. All so they could design the most fragile hot shoe in history. The F60 doesn’t even have full sleds. It’s just four plastic feet. A far cry from the competition. A further cry from superior iISO legacy.

  3. This is a fairly new set of equipment – why is it all on sale so early? Either Sony is trying to generate some cash flow during hard times, or clearing out stock in preparaation for new models. Or, could it be due to both?
