Dutch: “Hi Andrea, 6 months ago I made a short movie with the RX100M3 for Pf, a dutch professional photo magazine. Just to show how easy it is to film with it and how well the autofocus performs. At the end I also did some evening shots at 3200 and 6400 ISO. https://vimeo.com/109237959”

Honest Question:
Why Sony uses fly by wire for AF when neither in photography nor in videography people are happy using it?
Are there advantages compared to regular focus ring appart from the point it might be cheaper to produce?
Canon’s STM lenses are focus by wire too, but nobody whines about.
It is for CDAF focussing. These lenses do not use a traditional helicoid.
I know, makes me want to inflict pain on myself. It’s horrid.
