  1. Still holding off until I know if the firmware can be user updated. Metabones Mk IV has had numerous firmware updates providing new features, better compatibility with new bodies and more lens support with each update. If this adapter cannot be user updated, it’s stone cold.

  2. 250 gr ?

Once you add 625gr for the A7rII and those 250gr you get 875 gr which weight as much as the smaller DSLR full frame (Canon 6D weight only 680gr for instance). So the small form/weight advantage is lost.

But it may help DSLRs users to make the switch, since they can keep their lenses. And of course you get the huge advantage of EVF.

That switch makes more sense for Canon users however, since they get a better sensor. But Nikon users are already using a Sony sensor. So they have less incentive to switch.

  3. Just ordered one, I will do a full review of it using a A7 II with three Tamron lenses for Nikon F (15-30, 24-70 and 150-600). Cheers, Tom

      1. No the mirrorless bodies will be ephemeral, that manual Zeiss and Voigtlander glass will last a lifetime, as will all that manual Nikon F and old FD Canon glass.

  4. Will be waiting on someone to review. I watched Matt Grangers review of the Alpha version. It was not usable. Then again it was an Alpha version so hopefully they worked out the kinks.

    1. Thats why I love my LAEA4 adapter for the Minolta screw drive AF glass, if someone was to do it for Nikkor AF-D glass it wouldn’t be cheap with the extra mirror and a motor drive.
