We are all waiting for the Fujifilm X-PRO2, but it seems we will still have to wait longer than expected.
In fact, according to our trusted Japanese source, the Fujifilm X-PRO2 will come only in 2016 (probably early 2016… but we are still investigating).
The reason for the delay? I don’t have enough hints to assume it’s due the organic sensor (made by Fuji/Pansonic). Maybe it’s more related to the continuous delay of the Sony A7000 which will sport a newly designed APS-C sensor that could later on be used by Fujifilm for the X-PRO2. But that just my personal speculation… and not only mine, as you can see in the comments of this post!
As you know thanks to SonyAlphaRumors since 2013, once Sony implemented a new sensor in one of their cameras, other companies have to wait at least 6 months before they have the permission to use it in their own cameras.
And the waiting continues…

as long as we get our fuji colors and not that sony stuff….all good.
The part of the sensor that Fuji is buying doesn’t have color yet. 🙂
It’s all software issue.
Fuuuuuk
We did say it was coming in October but we never said what year:)
It’s time to put out the X-Pro1T (or X-Pro1s or however you may call it).
Can’t imagine how good this sensor must be, to be worth the wait…
I currently have no need for a new body (X-T1 is sufficient for my skills… the other one just needs some more optimization in the gym).
But all these rumors really make me curious, what the APS-C sensor update will bring… organic-sensor, APCS, BSI,… will it still have X-Trans… ???
So now I also have to follow Sony A7000 rumors 😉
I don’t mind. The more time it takes, the more value I get out of my year and half old X-E2 and the better the x-pro 2 that replaces it will be. And it gives me time to comfortably save up and buy the 14 or 16 (just bought a Really Right Stuff tripod and the budget only stretches so far). It would be nice if the 35 f/2 was still out by the end of the year. It would be an excellent lens to carry me through the festival season (December to March in Australia). No security guard is going to confiscate that tiny thing attached to my X-E2.
This is lame and I get the impression that Sony purposely delaying their new APS-C sensor to make people switch to Sony E-mount and therewith knocking out competition.
Sony is delaying because they insist in tiny formfactors. They want to put stable internal 4K on their A6000/7000, but they have some overheating issue to deal with – as almost all “NEX” camera had. They won’t be able to change the formfactor at this point, so they are probably find other ways to solve this, therefore, the delay.
Sony gains more by launching this camera than trying to delay on purpose just because of Fuji, as much as some might want to believe in such poor conspiracy, it’s quite nonsense for the business stand point, moreover, their camera division and sensor division are separated, using such a tactics would certainly hurt the sensor division reputation and customer relation, it makes no sense at all. Sony is not really caring about APS-C at the moment, they are totally invested in the FF.
Sony already released two APS-C sensors after the 16MP one. It is Fuji that is skipping generations and milking the users.
Nope. Sorry. Sony semiconductor division is a completely separate entity from Sony imaging, with it’s own profitability mandates. As soon as the tech is ready for prime-time the sensors will shortly thereafter be made available to external buyers. They can’t financially afford to sit on the technology when they have their own margins to meet.
I am extremely crestfallen. Feel like I’ve been smacked.
This is proof that rumors are bad for your health !
Exactly!!
So.. what’s the next rumor? *refreshrefreshrefresh*
Hope its worth the wait. Waiting….. Also hope sensor has film like properties and blows the Leica Q away
So what? My Fujis take excellent pictures. I’d rather see a 16 MP sensor with improved noise/dynamic range… not that excited about the new bodies.
I could’ve submitted this rumor myself. The delayed A7000? was posted on sonyalpharumors earlier today. So i would not give too much credit to the source here.
http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/a7000-delay-and-some-more-info-about-it/#disqus_thread
Edit: I would like to submit a rumor baser on a rumor And say that the X-Pro2 will be available sometime during February/March 2016
the Japanese source is extremely reliable… it shared a lot since now, and it was 100% correct. So personally I have no reason to doubt it.
That is what I was thinking this morning. Very disappointing. Perhaps they should have just went the full frame route, as the sensors are already available. Personally, I am tired of waiting, and my X-Pro 1 is still sufficient.
If they were to release a full frame X200 with a fast, high quality 35mm lens, and an adapter for 24 mm and 50mm, I would buy that instead. That would make sense, as a direct competitor to the Leica Q.
As much as I love the Fuji X system I feel very disappointed with such a long, long wait over the x-pro2 release.
I personally think that it has been too long already using the same sensor over and over…competitor’s technology moves too fast that even with the wonderful Kaizen philosophy it is just simply not enough!!
Yes, it has been too long milking that same sensor. Dependency on Sony for sensors is definitely starting to hurt them. I love Fuji cameras, but they have nothing for me to upgrade to.
What happened to the full frame X200? They should have went through with that. An X200 with the A7r or A7rii sensor and a 35mm lens and adapters for 50mm and 24mm would sell very well.
Now, I am just hoping they do something like that.
As long as it could provide BSI sensors I won’t want FF. I seriously suspect for such a low price you would get any super high resolution FF sensors produced under strict quality control.
This just sounds like you want a new toy and Fuji doesn’t make the toy with the best spec sheet…
Seriously? Give the consumers what they want and make some money as a brand? Fuji is here for us, it’s not a privilege to be able to buy a fuji camera… Give the consumers what they want or they will go and get it somewhere else. Everyone needs to stop talking about GAS too. While it may affect some people, there are plenty of people who are at the point in their cycle where they want or need to upgrade to a new body and Fuji just isn’t giving us anything competitive anymore.
Personally I don’t mind at all if it’s 2016 as long as it’s some new sensor tech which genuinely makes a difference.
I know it will be unpopular, but I personally would like to see Fuji move on from X-Trans and just put a really great new APS-C sensor in there (BSI, Organic, whatever) which doesn’t require it and doesn’t carry the problematic side of X-Trans processing.
With significantly more resolution, no DR penalty, or noise penalty over what we have now this would be killer.
Better waiting for a top tech PRO2 in 2016 than an A6000 in Fuji clothes at the end of this year !
Perhaps the XPro 2 and the XT-2 will both be released in early 2016 then?
Well yeah, obviously. A late 2015 announcement has always lead to an early 2016 release.
I was thinking just this morning how nice the prints I get from my XE1 are. When the XPro2 comes out I’ll buy a dirt cheap XE2 or XT1. Camera technology became “good enough” for my needs about 4 years ago, everything from here on is purely upgrades for fun. Manufacturers at this point can take as long as they want as far as I care and it’s pretty great not having G.A.S. like I used to, when I knew my camera was limiting me.
So true. Although I did find a solution – lens G.A.S. Thank me later 🙂
Still waiting for that 23mm f2 with aperture ring… Maybe one day.
Well for me personally the AF and usability of Fuji have still needed to catch up during the past years while current sensor performance really fulfils all my needs. Now that they’ve got those two pretty much covered let’s move on to getting workflow right. That’s the real pain in photography imho.
Yeah they still have their quirks but nothing that really frustrates me. autofocus could be faster, but by the looks of firmware 4 on the xt1 they’re making great progress. I’m assuming they’ll follow through with a future xe2 update and that’s more or less my upgrade path: previous generation on the cheap 🙂
Exactly what I do 😉
That’s just fine but how about a software update for the X Pro1 in the meantime. C’mon Fuji!
The old X-Pro is largely hamstrung by its slower processor, it’s not going to get much faster with new firmware (certainly not in AF). They should have done an S version with the X-T1 guts 6 months ago.
Couldn’t agree more.
Maybe time to diversify the lineup and use some non-Sony sensors… Other are catching up with them like Samsung and Nikon uses non-Sony sensors in several of their APS-C bodies.
Interesting, if that is really the case. Fuji skipped two sensor releases, so the new one might be special.
The wait will be worth it….
Glad I gave up waiting and bought another camera already.
If Fujifilm comes out with the Organic Sensor, I hope you don’t end up with buyers remorse.
I still have my X-Pro1 as it isn’t worth selling (so badly depreciated), as well as a few Fuji lenses.
History suggests that whatever sensor design is chosen will be around for years so there is no reason not to wait a few more months if it means benefiting from the latest generation of sensor tech that we’ve just seen from Sony. I can’t imagine that this delay has anything to do with organic sensors given the statements Fuji itself has made within the last year suggesting it is nowhere near ready for prime time.
Read this with a japanese eye.
Fuji is telling you that producing an x-Pro 2 would be a waste of money, because real pro’s are covered by serious cameras of the X-T series, Streettogs by X100 and a Rangefinder pro camera is a waste of time too, as the precision of the RF is far less then an EVF. Even Leica is realizing it, but has to continue for some more time building it as for their historic sensibility.
I have an X-T1… I want an X-Pro 2. It’s a completely different style of shooting, and the hybrid viewfinder allows for EVF as well. This would be a huge miss not to release the X-Pro2.
Real pros? They can and are able to use ANY equipment to produce stunning pictures.
Only average photographers like you need to rely on expensive equipment to get at least a self deceptive feel of creating “art”.
I am dissapointed… now I doubt X-Pro2 will ever be released… but if Fuji waits for new Sony sensor from A7000 that will come early 2016 than we will rather see X-Pro2 late 2016 (Fuji can buy new Sony sensor 6 months after Sony release). Now I am really consider A7rII… may be Fuji should bring now X-E3 with 24MP Bayer sensor (same that X-A1 has) + new 35/2 WR lens…. I would probably buy it (I will not buy any cam with X-Trans).
Well, with the A7rii you get a very expensive camera, with great potential and features, but is limited to 11×7 bit lossy files, which is is not much different than jpeg: both are lossy, but the Sony has more bits, so it is a little better.
My guess is that sony will actually fix the lossy files (not that I think they’re much of an issue, but should definitely be fixed). Once this happens we won’t have the firmware update argument anymore either. Sony has already stated they’re working on addressing this, as it’s an issue with their customers. Now if only Sony could have full manual controls and smaller FF lens….
If Sony had full manual controls, smaller, but high quality fast lenses, and 14-bit lossless files, I would be interested. Actually, that is what Fuji should have done, as they wouldn’t be in this situation, waiting for the next best APS-C sized sensor.
I would be excited if Fuji provided a full frame X200 with the A7rii sensor, a 35mm f/2 (or faster) lens, and lens adapters for 50mm and 24mm. That would be fantastic.
Yeah, that would be great. I would buy that as well.
Or just give me the Medium Format rangefinder and then I’ll be in love with Fuji again, instead of just saying “well it’s about time”.
There is no way for a ff 35mm to be as pocketable as for the current apsc set
Lossless RAW will come via FW update – that’s what Sony sais. However,
just FYI – you won’t see a difference even if you shoot in dark night
stars and the npull in PP +8 stops and magnify it to 400%. It’s all BS.
In reality not a single Pro said anything about Sony’s 11+7 bit RAW.
A7000 sensor that everyone is waiting for will have: BSI 32Mp and very fast readout speed, so silent shutter (not global one), 1 stop better ISO (so it will match current FF level in ISO and DR). Internal 4K of course. It’s rumored to be available for order due Christmas, but will be announced earlier in Sept/Oct.
6-months after that Fuji and Nikon can have this sensor – so that will be Q1/2016. Hopefully Fuji can tweak it so that it will be even better. I think Fuji will gain from this sensor more than Sony, due to high Mp burden that thsi sensor will put on lenses. I have no doubt all Fuji glass is up to challenge. So all we have to do is wait.
P.S. meanwhile there are rumors, that Nikon’s D5 FF 20Mp sensor with high ISO 102,400 sensitivity was developed by Pana/Fuji. So maybe in near future we might see some FF from Fuji!
If it was developed by Pana/Fuji, then it would be the organic sensor, which I highly doubt. But, if so, then Fuji will not be waiting for the A7000 sensor.
if this sensor(a7000) would be true i would love it and i think this would give fuji about 2 more years to develop and optimize the organic sensor
Moreover, if this A7000 sensor will be as good as we expect (so far same tech in A7R II confirms it) then organic sensor will be rendered useless or dead on arrival. A7000 BSI sensor with DRAM chip stacked underside for crazy fast readout and ISO levels on current FF camera levels and AF speed crazy fast (I’m sure it will leave A6000 in dust). DR of 14+ stops and 32Mp with clean usable ISO of 12800 – try beating that with “organic” sensor. I think most folks don’t know what really organic sensor is and what it can and can’t do. If you read about it – you’ll see that organic sensor is not a “second Christ coming”: It won’t be that much better, but more like evolutionary change, especially first generations of it. Moreover it will take a while until it will match current sensors in such specs as speed, resolution and etc.
Also rumored for early 2016 release – Canon 6D Mark II. Rumored specs: Smaller body than the current 6D . 28MP . 6 fps . ISO 100 – 102400 expandable to 204800 . New AF system . 98% viewfinder coverage . Single SD card slot . WiFi, NFC, GPS . Improved video features.
Boring… Canon is innovating less then anyone these days.
ZzZzzzzzz….
Who needs that old fart granpa shoe box?
Sony’s innovation in video has been pretty forward thinking and consistent. Fuji did in fact say that we wouldn’t get better video until they can get the tech that provides for faster sensor readout. I don’t want to wait for the XPro2 but it is what it is. But look at it this way, when it does get released its probably gonna be a kick-ass piece of gear.
Or an outdated piece of gear…The camera was already close to where it needed to be. If it had a few more functions, updated button layout, faster AF, and a new sensor it would be all I needed.
It’s hard not to see this as the unofficial death of the rangefinder-esque X line. The real test will be if we see a ‘next gen’ T style camera before the X-pro2. Of course, the other question needs to be – why do we care? Did everyone get into the X system because of the X-Pro? I suspect not or we’d see more resources put into that model/line by Fuji. So if we’re happy with our existing X’s and T users seem very happy – and we’re all pretty darn happy with the XF lenses – why does this matter? (FWIW, I find it disappointing too, I’m just thinking out loud about why). I keep coming back to a few basic observations: many of us are suckers for the rangefinder look; we like the portability and size of the APC form factor. Beyond that we want a camera system that’s got some life in it – and I love my Fuji but w/regard to feature growth, the vibe of this community is that the entire line doesn’t feel like it’s keeping up with the Joneses. A lot of negativity.
I was holding off on the A7rII… I hate sony, and wanted to make the X-Pro 2 work. I have other X cameras but got into the system for my X-Pro1. I think I’m pulling the trigger on that A7rII now. The only thing that could keep me with Fuji was a release of the X-Pro2 or a medium format digital. Fuji has everything I’ve ever wanted from a camera brand, but they just can’t get it together with the sensor and unfortunately that is proving to be the biggest issue for my needs.
Perhaps, but you will be getting slightly better than jpeg image quality from the A7rii ~ 11 x 7 bit lossy files compared to 8 bit lossy files. They can call it RAW, but it really isn’t.
That’s complete BS.
Really ~ check out the tonal transitions in A7r/A7 images. They aren’t as good as they should be.
I know they are not perfect but the difference to 14-bit-RAW is very small and only makes a difference in extreme situations. The difference to JPEG on the other hand is huge. So the file is a lot closer to 14-bit-RAW than to even a good quality JPEG.
“… slightly better than jpeg image quality …” is therefore complete BS.
Their 11+7 bit compression actually only creates minor issues for extreme shooters. Under a lot of occasions you need software to see it. https://photographylife.com/reviews/sony-a7-ii/3
As a matter of fact, you probably won’t enjoy 14bit RAW on high resolution bodies after all. I have a friend using D810 and he often complains post-processing eats CPU and slows him down quite a bit. This is why top-tier Nikon cameras (D4s) offer very aggressive compression for users. But Sony shouldn’t force everyone to use lossy compression. Of course I have a guess why Sony has to enable compression, but I will keep that to myself.
Sony’s real problem is its AWB. The orange rendering could be a disaster in post-processing.
Lossless RAW will come via FW update – that’s what Sony sais. However, just FYI – you won’t see a difference even if you shoot in dark night stars and the npull in PP +8 stops and magnify it to 400%. It’s all BS. In reality not a single Pro said anything about Sony’s 11+7 bit RAW.
While they may provide it, as they suggested, and you may not notice the difference, there is a difference. And, my friend, who is a professional photographer that uses the A7, along with other cameras, told me about the problem before I even knew about it.
And, by the way, others do talk about it.
That’s wrong too. The difference is negligible for a lot of people but not for all. And yes, many pros wrote about it.
A7RII? and a Batis lens of course …. sounds like a cheap alternative 🙂
OK, so now the rumors the X-T2 would come 2 to 4 moths after the X-pro2…so the X-T2 had better be at 2 months rather than 4 months.
Perhaps they’re waiting for the Socionext chip?
i still unknown about Socionext company, they are last new imaging silicon company that cooperate Fujitsu(is not FujiFilm) and Panasonic.
i wait to see new products from Socionext.Maybe it’s new kind image sensor or signal processor.
Rumors are, they’ll be making a chipset (and maybe even an imaging sensor) for the Nikon D5.
Sony sensor makes the most sense… though I don’t see why they didn’t use the A6000 sensor, it’s a fine sensor to base off of.
Fuji is planning to have 4k video which will need the new sensor
I’d be very, very happy with the A6000 sensor in an Xt10 body, and I would buy it as soon as available
Unfortunately I think that boat has sailed. If history repeats, Fuji will use this new Sony sensor for the next 3 years in all bodies. So they will wait for the latest (a7000), and use it initially in the pro bodies, and then in the lower end models as time goes on.
Fuji is in the tail here, even if the sensor is capable of doing 4K
the X-Trans will ruin it, even Bayer sensor in XA1/A2 does not give you any acceptable video IQ
Fujis videos is currently crap I agree. But the xtrans helps eliminate Moire, it’s just to the poor way they implement video (not full sensor readout, low bitrate, bad codec etc). Fuji said themselves that the xtrans would be useful in video, it just needs a much newer processor which we will hopefully get with the xpro/xt2. If Fuji want me spending $1700-2000 on a body they will need to have great video (as well as their brilliant stills) otherwise I will just keep a x-t10/xe2 and pick up a Panasonic lx100
I cant see why they even bother with video. I had fuji cameras in the past and plan on getting the x-t1 soon but I don’t even consider the video feature at all even though I shoot video.
I agree, but that’s because the video is crap. Fuji are smart and realise that a lot of people are becoming hybrid shooters, and to capitalise on this they need good video quality
You really can’t blame them for the delays, after Sony keeps outdating current and near future releases.
I love Fuji and have a lot of their gear but they need to do something sensor wise. I don’t want to pay todays prices for yesterday’s tech and if the next xpro2 or whatever has old sensor tech then I’ll jump systems.
that not old sensor,at least it will like s35 crop on A7Rmk2 sensor.
that good DR,color deep,clean iso.
i know you expect on new kind sensor as organic but the true it’ not come.
It will have newest Sony sensor – BSI aps-c 24-32Mp (still not sure about Mp), 4K, very fast OSPDAF (even faster than A6000!) – that tech is cutting edge. Sony sensors are in Nikon, Canon, Oly and even Samsung and Apple cameras and smartphones. Even Medium Format guys have Sony sensors inside (Pentax and Hasselblad). wherever you go there will be a cutting edge Sony sensor inside.
The only modern camera that still has non-Sony sensor is 5Ds/r from Canon, but that camera is dead on arrival (it has nowhere near as good DR, ISO and speed as A7RII).
Samsung NX1 and NX500 have their own sensor
And the D4
ahaha my zeiss touit 12 and 32 will be sitting in their boxes waiting for a body for another year
Talk about delayed self-gratification.
That is disappointing, not that the current lineup is bad, but it looks awfully static. That is what put Olympus out of business before digital. It is hard to sell cameras(and make a profit) when it looks like you are standing still. I am not sure where this “fact” of not being able to get a sensor from Sony for 6 months. Nikon has in the past gotten Sony sensors 6 months before Sony got to use them. It is all in the negotiation. Rumor has it that the new Nikon D5 top of the line will have 20MP. I would be happy with 20 in a new Fuji sensor if it bested the 24MP APS sensors in the noise and dynamic range departments.
The “six month” factor that everyone keeps talking about has no basis in truth. It’s rubbish.
If that were true then Fuji would need another year after receiving the Sony wafer design just to further engineer their own specifications into it.
As to “standing still” … who isn’t standing still right now? I suppose you could argue that Sony is introducing more innovations, but their cameras are complete crap. Dreadful ergonomics, poor lens selection, worst AF of any of the mirrorless systems, 11 bit lossy RAWs, constantly changing mounts/designs/feature sets/direction, etc, etc. No thanks. Sony doesn’t understand cameras. Their lack of system cohesiveness proves this.
They may receive the tech before but they must wait 6 months before selling it.
Proof? Cause without it, you’re just parroting unsubstantiated hearsay.
If the six-month exclusivity thing were true, it would likely bring an end to other manufacturers close collaboration with Sony Semiconductor, which dates back almost 20 years. Considering that the aggregate of other major camera manufacturers buys far more Sony Semiconductor APS-C/FX sensors than Sony Imaging does, Sony would be shooting themselves in the foot with a “6-month” strategy. Sorry.
Again, show me the proof.
maybe it just takes about 6 months on average to put everything together after sony has released the sensor in there own camera. This could be what started the rumor..
Actually the 6 months sales embargo was I believe explained in it’s time by A Nikon rep in an interview a few years ago: Sony Electronics designs a new Sensor – Sony Imaging gets a 6 months to sell their cameras before clients can SELL new cameras with the new sensor.
And at the time Nikon’s image quality was consistently putting Sony”s to shame. Was this a sign of the intrisic quality of both engineering teams or the fact that the added 6 months R&D helped ? I don’t know but I always found it really funny.
All you are doing is parroting unsubstantial hearsay.
LOL Sorry but you have no idea what you are talking about. Sony’s cameras are not crap. A7RII is in fact a revolutionary camera that got Canikon folks moving to Sony. Mantra about lack of lenses is so old. LOL. FE lineup will have till the end of this year a 20+ lenses. More than Fuji has. And they just started.
If you speak about aps-c line – then I agree. Their lenses are not the best (Except Zeiss ones). Ergonomics are matter of taste – many prefer Sony modern cameras to Fuji’s grandpa style. AF of Sony cameras is actually best in aps-c and best in FF mirrorless (there is just no competition as you know Sony is the only FF player in mirrorless), No one is changing anything except they are innovating. If you like stall water then look at poor Canon T6i – they just changed a letter in naming – that’s all their innovation. Do you want Fuji to do the same? Everything constant? LOL. You have not a hint about Sony, so don’t try to go into this, because it’s clear that you are talking crap.
Sorry. But it is what it is: crippled RAW files, poor lens selection, horrible ergonomics, rubbish autofocus, constant changes to camera direction and lens mounts, and insufficient system support.
I shoot professionally in a wide array of circumstances. I learn very quickly in the field and on the job what works and what doesn’t. Sony cameras are too compromised in too many ways. Not a surprise really. Sony is a consumer electronics manufacturer, not a camera manufacturer, and that approach shows in the way they design their cameras.
The fanboy point-of-view is mostly irrelevant to a professional photographer.
I love sony cameras but I am far from a fan boy, if I had the money I would own the best of all brands but I disagree that sonys cameras are complete crap and for me at least the only lens missing that I would need is a 135mm. I do think lens for lens ,fuji makes better lenses overall. what works for you may not work for someone else. A pro photographer can use whatever he likes as long as his clients are happy.
RAW files about as crippled as Fuji, poor lens lineup (except to people who already have all the lenses they want?), horrible ergonomics which is subjective, rubbish AF (now we just know you’ve never used a Sony camera, well maybe you’ve used an a7r), and constant changes to camera lens mount (what?). You throw out a lot of nonsense.
By the way, Sony is a camera manufacturer, that is why they have a whole division dedicated to it.
“(there is just no competition as you know Sony is the only FF player in mirrorless)” – now there’s Leica Q 😉
And pretty much all of Leica’s other cameras.
Maybe other companies can not release their product until 6 months after Sony released theirs – but they get access to it for engineering purposes

“We are all waiting for the Fujifilm X-PRO2”. Who we are? Me not. “Waiting for Godot” sect. Don’t waste your time. It takes so long time for X-Pro2 to go to market. Let’s wait X-Pro3. It should be faster comparing to still unborn predecessor. Haha.
Actually I am… but if it’s only in 2016, then I’ll probably complement my X100s with a X-T1 or 10 right now: 2016 is too far away and I’d like an ILC.
At least there’s now time enough to buy a camera that doesn’t require a new computer… 😉
disappoint to FujiFilm,i will wait for GX8 with new kind sensor or it is 1st organic sensor, why Fuji can not produce organic they pay a lot for develop and to panny. but everything is nothing.
Enough of the ‘Organic Sensor’ already….people keep talking about this vaporware like it’s the next coming of Christ.
X Pro1 is good enough now, and I wait with pleasure, if the result is excellent.
Bummer. But hey, I’m creating the best work in my life with the x100t (no T/WCLs) while my Nikon system is collecting dust. So I guess I’ll just get the xe-2/ – I need other focal lengths soon.
All this talk of Sony sensors assumes that Fuji will give up on X-Trans? Or does nobody think of that?
I don’t mind waiting. the longer its release. the more firmware for older camera, the more added and upgraded features for the older cameras, the more perfect the camera would be & a happy dedicated fuji x shooter ill be. hehehe!. I have an x-t1 x-t10, x-e2, x100t and x-a2 and i hope they keep giving us good firmware goodies. and more film look options. =) also update AF on e2 x100t and a2 please.

Trust me! The X-Pro2 will never come. Like the D400 from Nikon will never come 🙂
The X-Pro 2 is already in the engineering phase. There’s no debate here.
That would be the end of the fuji X saga…. we would be left to turn to Sony.
When the X-Pro2 and X-T2 finally arrive…they are going to have to be exceptional cameras.
No they use a Sony sensor as a base and add their xtran technology
they use Sony sensor, they produce x-trans color filter.
at last they put X-Trans filter on Sony sensor,in the end.
I can’t wait….so after three years I switched to sony.
thks for all fujiflm, I loved your world since first day.
goodbye

Yes, and now finally you can take photographs. Congratulations.
?
note:
I was been the first photographer to reach the first position on 500px with a fujifilm camera and you?
nice, replay.
but you are right…30k view with a fujfilm (not the only one ) is not enough 😉 http://tinyurl.com/qfnyroa
A limited number of us are waiting for the XPro2, assuming it has dual card slots, to use in professional service. Dual card slots helps the most with human error and mistakes (like not downloading a session, accidently deleting it from the computer network, etc.) and saves time since there’s a running back-up being made. I currently run a 256gb sd card in my 5Dmk3 for back-up while individual sessions are done on 4 or 8gb CF cards. This is very handy during my busy season. Why not keep using the 5Dmk3? Simple! I’m putting on years and like the lighter weight gear. When my 5Dmk2 and 3 has gone down for a repair my XE1 and 2 has produced professional quality prints for my clients. Plus, the XE2 is my personal/family/travel camera and I’d like to have one system (but still keep my digital Hassie for occasional highest end work).
