MirrorlessRumors reports there will be a new Voigtlander announcement today. I don’t know yet what’s coming. But I certainly would LOVE to get native E-mount lenses from them just like their [shoplink 41181 ebay]Nokton MFT series (here on eBay)[/shoplink].
UPDATE: It’s now official! Read about the new lenses here on SAR.

Well, that would be something like a budget Loxia then. Sure, having alternatives is good.
How is it budget Loxia when the good Voigtlander lenses are in the same price range if not more expensive?

Yes the 35/1.2 is a nice lens but is not very cheap nor is it the level of the Zeiss but seems a fair compromise.
For expensive option on A7 I would look to http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=11126137&InitialSearch=yes&sts=pi
You don’t get it do you? I linked to one of the best Voigtländer 35’s and the best Zeiss 35 in M-mount. The price difference is big. Voigtländer is budget compared to Zeiss. Period.
Voigtlander is very, very, very much budget for M mount lenses. Why is this even under debate?
Honestly, I don’t know.
It is not very cheap? Compared to what? There’s absolutely nothing that good and that small at that price from any brand. It is also easily as good as the Zeiss.
Yep, Sony is becoming the new Leica (especially if they keep raising prices!), so it’s about time! 😉
Oh man. Voigtländer announcing their own line of Loxia-type lenses would be the most disruptive news of the year.
Fantastic news for E-mount shooters!!!!
Disruptive sounds is a bit of a stretch. These will most likely be present M lenses with a replaced mount. Not much different from using adapted Voigtländer M lenses like people already do. Voigtländer has gradually been optimizing their lenses for digital use, so this is not surprising nor complex. But yeah, good news if true anyway.
Fantastic news for *a few* E mount shooters.
Not everyone will be happy with expensive pure MF lenses.
Voigtlander lenses are downright cheap for their performance and price.
If only it is released for FE mount~~
What is the benefit of E mount full manual lens? Is not M mount enough provided there are close focus adapters? Only thing is to optimize the lenses for digital so that there no corner issues.
Depends on how Voigt implements it, I guess if it’s official with Sony then it’ll have electronic contacts giving EXIF info hence IBIS will auto adjust like the Loxia.
Optimised for E mount will likely be no soft corners, no coloured corners, more accurate min-max focusing distance hard stop, the last point is mainly due not having another adapter into place and giving tolerance errors.
Electronic contacts is key for me; otherwise, I have little interest in the lenses. Give me the EXIF data from the lens and small and I am very interested. Fingers crossed.
Speechless! Although this was expected after optical success of their 15 v3 and Loxia experience with compensation for the thicker cover glass. Close focusing adapter will be gone but all lenses could be adjusted for E mount.
Voightlander don’t have any APS-C lenses AFAIK so my guess is these are existing M mount lenses that are tuned for E mount with somewhat similar to the Zeiss Loxia lenses which have similar optical formula to existing lenses but are tuned for E mount and have native FE mounts.
My initial thought was, this is for APS-C since it says E mount & not FE. Make sense too, all Voigtländer has to do is migrate those m43 lenses to E mount.
But the updated post by admin says it is for full frame.
Can’t Wait!! 😀
Im looking forward to this.If they could make the 21 mm f.4,0 Color Skopar, 28 mm f.2,0 Ultron, 40 mm f.1,4 Nokton and the 50 mm f.1,1 Nokton E-Mount. Then i would be happy
I got the 21mm f4, it have red corners, but they are easily corrected on post, hopefully this is corrected in a new lens. Wors it is that the lens does not have the brilliant sharpeness you get with the 15mm lens…
The compact 35mm f1.4 is exellent as fast compact 50mm equivalent for apsC use.
Fair enough. Not saying they are bad. Just that in this day and age not too many people will want MF lenses when AF lenses are readily available and very fast.
Well, that is true. But a bit unfortunate, as manual focus is great fun and a good skill to have.
Now that the lenses introduced are ultra wide lenses they being pure MF is not so bad considering the massive DOF on offer. 🙂
No filter thread unfortunately but the lenses are small enough that you have simply hold a filter on the lens if required.
