Image on top shows the silhoutte of the current Sony A77.
Many(!) trusted source just told me the A77II announcement is actually scheduled for May. They didn’t share any specs yet. All we know is that it has a very fast new autofocus system, no EVF lag and very speedy processor.
I also have been told that the announcement event is quite “big”. There is a fair chance Sony will also announce some other stuff like new lenses for both A and E-mount! Hopefully new FE lenses will be announced too 🙂
Stay tuned on SAR, I am working on plenty(!) of amazing rumors. Some of time are a huge surprise 😉

This is the big announcement? Didn’t we have the same info like 1-2 weeks ago?
Nope, I said it would be available in summer. Now I know for sure announcement is in May. And there is a chance something “else” will be announced too!
Oh okay. So still no info on the price…:(
The fact I got messages from trusted sources makes me hope they will share some info soon too!
I got my A77 like 5 days ago, and am now seriously thinking of returning it and waiting for the II. The question is, will it be financially reasonable…
I think Sony must beat the price of D7100 and 70D to be competitive! Also the A7 FF price is already very good, so why shouldn’t be A77 and A99 successors also more competitive ? So I expect $/€ 800-1000 for this A77mk2
Why?
Why?, well there is a general tendency for FF bodies to come down into the APS-C price region of last few years, so it would be very hard to sell an APS-C for 1300-2000, and honesty the all make their money with too expensive glass, so why should Sony risk the game again with an overpriced body (like they did with A99) ?
Because Sony has high prices by default. Why would they learn now…? I mean, I would be happy if A77II would sell for 700€ body, but I don’t see it happening, honestly. I think we are looking at about 1200€ body street price.
Your points are valid. However the questions are: what are the R&D investments, and what price is needed to have the cost return. If the price is too high, users might choose Canon and Nikon over Sony, and if it’s too low, it might not cover the R&D. It will be a very very fine line, I’m afraid. It is all in stars, however if they go for too high of the price, especially with APS-C, they might find themselves cornered indeed. And this is the only and sole reason why I am contemplating if I should return the A77. Came 5 days ago, so I have 25 still.
It should be and could be but will not be that low, so Sony sales will stay low.
Perhaps the A77 II is much better than the competitors… Hope so 🙂
You mean, a newer camera that will probably be better than both the 70D and D7100, should cost significantly less?
To beat 70D (and 7DII) D7100, Sony should make a 1Dx D4 class camera in APS-C format.
4K video can be optional if Sony make a Video grip with SSD and XLR inputs etc…
16-18MP is enough but make sure the image is clean all the way upto ISO12800 or even 25K
Frame buffer should support 10 seconds+ of continuous shooting at 14fps full resolution
If global shutter is present, Full Flash Sync should go up to 1/2000s
Flash commander should be built into the camera body with functions comparable to Canon’s RT system, plus optional radio receivers for backward compatibility and connections with studio flashes.
OSPDAF should work with all A-mount lenses (incl. Minolta, Sigma, Tamron etc.) then the SLT can be removed totally.
EVF delay should be less than 20ms with refresh rate 120Hz even in dark scene.
I got the A77 like 5 days ago. The question is if it’s financially reasonable to wait for the II… especially if the camera-price is similar, and much better than the current “old” model.
It’s not reasonable to wait. A77 is much cheaper than the successor.
This may be priced lower than a77
Of course you should wait, unless you bought A77 used. Makes no sense to buy 2.5 y/o cameras new, when new generation is 2 months away. After delays that long, the improvements are usually very significant. Or at least old model price will plummet.
Hahaha, a counter-reply. One says no, other say yes.
Bought it new, never want to buy camera used.
But you are right, I would be very pissed if the improvements were really significant and I didn’t wait couple of months.
Well, it is certainly going to cost more than the current gong rate for the a77.
Says who? A77 price could drop even more, say 500€ body street price, and the A77II set to 900€, which would put it merely 150€ over the *current* price.
It’s common sense based on cameras, electronics and the competition. The current street price of the a77 is under $1000. When it was released it cost over 40% more ($1400).
Sony positions this camera to be a high end aps-c camera ( if their AF is very fast and they get the high ISO to respectable levels than it will be). Canon’s high end aps-c is the 4 year old 7d ($1400 on amazon). The next one down is the 70d ($1100 on amazon). My prediction is that the release pricing will be in that range, between $1100 to $1400. So if you picked up an a77 for $900 or less, you may end up spending an additional $200 to $500 for the new one.
Or maybe they will merge the a77 with the mid-grade body, go less high end and charge less like they did with the a6000…
I was told this camera will be 600 and change.
Dont know how accurate that is since that is very reasonable.
Saving money is nice, but such a drastic price change would not bode well for the build quality or other accoutrements beyond the sensor. I would possibly expect it to be mirror less at such a price.
Bayer sensors will be replaced in a year with stacked sensors and will be essentially obsolete.
The price of all bayer sensor cameras will continue to drop dramatically until then.
Considering the market it is aimed at, the features and the build quality etc., I cannot see that this camera will be $600. I really don’t think your source is anywhere near reliable. Launch price of the A77 was $1400. Do you really believe Sony can and will cut that by $800?
Of course I’m assuming the A77 successor will not be stripped of features that were in the old model, like the A58 and A5000.
A6000 currently sells for $648
The A6000 is a different level of camera and is basically a replacement for the NEX-6.
While it is no doubt a great camera, it cannot be compared to the A77 in terms of features and build.
I was told this will about in the 600 something range..similar to a6000
Seems very low..hope its accurate.
600 would be really really low. Maddeningly low. If it could all that A77 can + faster AF like A6000, it would kill the competition at that price.
good news
A-mount is dying, e-mount is the future. Why buy an a-mount camera?
I voted up your post because you are amazing at trolling.
Hi Dendra
In general you are right, but i have 6 A-Mount lenses an wait in a camera with GPS, full tilt an swifel Screen, ff and something you can hold in your hand. I have the A77 an wait since 3 years.
Because anything smaller, like e-mount is just bad to hold in your hands. A77 “sits” really well in my hand. I don’t have the same feel with NEX-6 for instance…
You’re right, there is tourism and work. In work, there is much you can do with a mirrorless, except handheld tele shooting and Makro. You need a heavy grip weight for that. When ever you need to hold a camera quiet, without trembling, you need a correct weight. With a NEX, Makro shooting handheld is sheer imossible in 90% of all situations. I shoot heavy dslr up to one second time handheld without vibration, with NEX-7, I capitulate at 1/30th. I use the Nikon with the battery grip for that, never I use NEX on Makro, and so is it with sports, where you have to aim with a long tele and keep the camera quiet. But since that is less than 5% of my photographic activity, I carry the NEX 95% of all time I spend with camera. Note that I use the Minolta and A lenses with adapters on it, same as my Nikon’s
you can mount A-mount lenses to any mirrorless camera with adapters.
What if you only buy E-mount lenses and realise you need different bodies?
And use 300mm lens without image stabilizer?
Because A-Mount Tele-Lenses can be build smaller the E-mount lenses.
Well a lot of us have quite a few Sony A mount lenses. Also E mount lenses tend to be pretty expensive to boot. Plus E mount has very very limited lenses with minimal 3rd party support.
I hate adapters. I consider adapters (especially electronic ones) as paying money to add 2 points of failures between a lens and a camera body.
So in conclusion yes E mount is the future BUT currently the A mount (IMO) offers much better value for current A mount users. Maybe in the distant future there will be a camera that allows you to use A mount lenses in an E mount body without any adapters that will allow Sony to shut down the A mount but currently its far from being a viable decision.
E-mount is dying too…ALL DEDICATED CAMERAS are dying. Just give it a few years, you’ll see. Everything is making a transition to mobile devices.
Good news, waiting for it
Hopefully there will be more high quality APS-C emount lenses with a new roadmap
I hate it how you tease us about upcoming rumors 😉
There’s nothing what you cannot find somewhere else. Get real, man.
can’t wait to skip it..
You realise that your facebook post with the text being cut off would have made some people tremble and quiver. This is what it said before it was cut short….
“Many(!) trusted source just told me the A77II announcement is actually scheduled for May. They didn’t share any specs yet. All we know is that it has a very fast new autofocus system, no EVF”
LOL!!!! Funny 😉
That is exactly why I came here, I was starting to panic 😛
Same here, I was just gonna freak out!
SLT or no SLT, that is the question… 🙂
“no EVF lag” – BS. That’s not possible. Sensor needs to collect data that’s further on processed and displayed in an EVF. That will always take time (even if we’d have a quantum computers in these cameras) and that’s what causes lag. You’ll never be able to truly eliminate lag from EVF. Even more so as sensor needs to be exposed to the light for some time in order to register a frame – as far as in bright light it might go to sub-1/120s – in low light conditions it gets longer and longer, sometimes going over 1/30s (that’s what causes visible blur in EVF while panning).
It may refer to the image buffering at high frame rates…
well not noticeable EVF lag. You have to interprete this in a practical way not in an absolute mathematical term 🙂
Agreed. I think he may be autistic.
lol. Sorry autism sufferers, but lol
Yeah then there is the lag from the image captured by your eyes reaching you brain. I hate that lag, my eyes need an upgrade.
ffffcccc….kkkk slt
If the announcement only is in May, when will it really be available, in July ? or even later ? thats a bit late for the summer holiday’s, I would really like to know if it’s worth waiting for, if it has SLT system or not, that means the old system or mirrorless new system, that’s important to everyone I think. Help Admin as soon as you can.
The A77II will be SLT, it is required for fast CAF with all the A-mount lenses.
A lot of stuff what admins says is BS. He gets some information and then makes his own interpretations without clearly stating if it’s his own opinion or actual facts told him by sources. Some of the SAR readers take BS for granted and then get angry when reality turns out to be different. Don’t blame Sony, blame admin for confusing you.
Also, I like that there’s always a sentence promising new rumors and surprises. As practice has shown, that’s also BS as recently posts were really dry. But that’s OK, since false promises bring admin more visits and clicks. Speaking of integrity.
Pull your head in douchebag….Nobody is forcing you to read the site…Jeez
Hi Admin, is there any info about A-mount FF before that?
no A-mount FF before that!
At this stage I’m happy to take an a77ii and see what happens on the ff front…
Thanks Andrea – you’ve brightened up my Monday! Any news on the improved af system? Are we looking at just porting af-d to the a77 or improved af point coverage?
My prediction for the a77II will be that it will have the same 24MP sensor, wifi, faster focus speed, 15FPS, standard flash mount.
Hope not..I heard 32mp
What is your source?
Can’t be the same sensor, surely? That would just knock their reputation since the older sensor was definitely affected by that mirror in the way.
I reckon they might have a faster sensor to enable better processing speed or slightly better high ISO sensitivity. So whilst the basics might still be the same, I suspect it will be a new one.
So, the year of A-Mount begins in May?
Let’s hope we’ll also see some FF A-Mount bodies and lenses, to justify the name
2 more ff later this year.
24mp and 36mp
That’s SR2
Call it anything you want..the cameras will come.
We are still left guessing whether this camera will be SLT, and, if it is, will the mirror have a ‘flip-up’ mode’? it seems to me such a feature would be massively popular with SAR readers!
Well if it is true that the camera is still SLT, but with improved light transmission, then the need for flip-up mode is greatly decreased. Flip-up mode will only add to the cost due to the need for a flip-up mechanism and what proportion of users will it really benefit from it?
Yes, fair point, and, thinking more about it, Sony themselves would probably consider providing a flip-up mode as some sort of admission of failure of the SLT design, which it definitely is not! So no flip-up mode then!
I am pretty confident there won’t be a flip-up SLT. SLT has never been that much of a problem to warrant this.
Probably not worth the engineering if removing the mirror is an eventuality.
Admin, stop deleting my posts, it’s not communism.

What post did he delete? Your idiotic first post is still there.
Me, and I believe other SAR readers, have certain standards for quality, which apparently aren’t met by this site. I’ve a freedom to express my thoughts and all criticism should be allowed.
The level of entitlement these days is staggering.
Only the levels of quality are truly staggering these days.
If you’ve got issues with the quality of the rumours, why do you even bother visiting the site?
It’s not about the quality of the rumors, but rather the way
they’re presented: false promises, not clearly defining where is the rumor or
just an opinion, contributes to the quality of the website.
You do not have to read irrelevant posts and then comment on them. Have you spent a penny on this site to have this “entitlement”?
Its a rumour site…deal with it…Admin is doing a great job with limit resources.
The site is owned by SAR, so they have the freedom to delete or block anything they like.
Thanks! I admit this site sucks. So please, stay away from it 😉
Guys, can I delete these kind of comments? They simply take away space in the comment system and makes it harder to follow discussions. If you give me an OK I will delete all that non-sense discussion part…
this is your site, ande we are all invited in as your guests, if any of us don’t like it – we can always stay off. Whatever you chose, deleting or not, I’m still here
Hi Andrea, I wouldn’t bother deleting the comment, because it appears that other readers here have replied to the OP in such a way as to put his/her comment in a good perspective.
I think it’s a stronger statement to let the original post and subsequent replies remain, than it is to just bury that history. Leaving the post and replies makes your site stronger, IMHO.
I am a fan of moderation and I also am a fan of free speech.
I think some of the most extreme personal insults should be deleted but not all of it as it is good to hear from our critics too.
Perhaps a clear statement of guidlines would be usefull so potential posters would know what type of comments are “OVER THE LINE”
I do not look at comments on unmoderated sites because they get taken over by those who make the comments sections unreadable. Having someone take the trouble to keep the quality high makes for a much better site.
Yes, please delete them. It is a waste of space and time for your real contributors.
Many sites hide comments after a certain number of down votes.
GO
Just take a hike buddy. Get lost. And please dont shoot with any Alpha gear in the future – you’re giving all of us a bad name.
I’ll be concise. You’re not welcome here!!! GET IT?
If the site won’t improve, I won’t show up here again. But
don’t be naïve and don’t think that the topic I started won’t influence future posts of the admin.
Also, I’m pretty sure you can be proud of your polite reply
to one Alpha gear shooter from another. Speaking of bad names.
the fact that the original comment gained a number of positive votes is another statement in itself to consider.
It’s not democracy either. I’ll blame you for not being able to think for yourself.
Why shouldn’t he delete it….Stop throwing your toys out of the cot and don’t visit the site if you have an issue with it….Aren’t you too old to be having a tantrum…
Your posts are more of slandering and demeaning a person rather than constructive criticism. If you wish to criticize the site you are free to do so but you need to use more polite language. Right now I believe you are on your own. Not one SAR member has come to your defense due to your strong language.
I agree, language was rather strong, but nowhere as strong
as some other replies to my original post. Why double standards then?
There is a saying, you reap what you sow. You came on very strong and so you received a strong reply in return. Now if you came in politely and someone barraged you rest assured a lot of people would have sprung to your defense.
Ugh, isn’t it the worst when free services that one person works really hard to provide don’t meet your weird standards? I think I speak for everyone on SAR when I say we are so sorry you have to experience this nightmare.
Communism? If a private sector site owner wants to ban you or your comments, he is more than empowered to do so. That’s the free market.
That said, I doubt he is deleting your comments.
Well.. He did.
Lol, that was after I wrote that and you continued to antagonize him (and other readers).
Stick to discussing news & rumors and not criticizing others personally and your input may be welcomed.
On one thing I agree with you, I’ve seen 3 promises of many exciting new rumors and surprises but none fulfilled.
It would make me more confortable if the admin would be a little more modest and just say “there’s also a couple of new rumors I’m working on” so he wouldn’t get people’s expectations so high, but of course he’s free to post anything on his own site.
Glad to see that someone else besides me noticed that.
Sony FE 35mm f/2 OSS and Sony FE 85/1.8 OSS? Throw in a Sony FE PZ 24-50 OSS pancake while you’re at it too please.
The roadmap clearly says wide angle zoom + large aperture prime.
I think we can be quite sure that means an FE 16-35 f/4 and a f/1.4 prime (either 35 or 85mm).
35/1.4 would explain why the 35/2.8 exists and is not f/2. 85/1.4 would be fantastic, though…
85/1.8 is far more likely I think.
16-35 f4 Zeiss OSS for sure and a 85 1.8 because the system has the 35 f2.8 already so maybe next year a new 35. I don’t think that the system will have a 35mm 1.4 because of the size and a 35 1.8 / 55 f.1.8 / 85 1.8 would make a great trio. Also I don’t think it will ever have 2.8 zooms but that’s great considering the size advantage of the f4 zooms.
There was an “updated” FE lens roadmap. If it is correct, there should be an FE16-35 f/4 and a FE 85 f/1.8 coming this year.
sorry, wrong URL:
http://photorumors.com/2013/10/16/sony-fe-full-frame-lens-roadmap/
there you go
I saw a riddle from someone with knowledge and it suggested a 85/1.8 is coming. I was confused when people at photo plus were saying it is a 90mm lens.
New E-mount lenses would be nice. Any educated guesses what they could be? Just FE lenses?
I would like to see 14mm and 85mm APS-C primes but I doubt it.
PS. The “really trusted sources” is of course Sony’s marketing department but who would trust them? 😉
Lol, yes Marketing… they are the bully’s of all industries, they typically provide no value and only try to figure out what already exists that can charge extra for. Remember when Verizon crippled the working GPS on your phones then charged extra to turn the feature on. That was Marketing’s bright idea :-D. They would charge you to breath air if they could.
Hoping for new E-mount lenses! 🙂
Thank you so much Andrea, you made really my day.
Finally something positive news about A-mout.
I hate all the people with negativeness…. smile it’s the best medicin
Yeah Negative people have a great knack of ruining a person’s day. Thankfully there are still a few positive people around who brighten peoples days.
What I was told is 32mp and priced somewhere in the $600-700 range.
Hope thats right.
No way the body is only going to $600-700.
Bayer sensor cameras will continue to drop dramatically in price and will be replaced by stacked sensors in a year.
Sony will make its 54mp stacked sensor available to other manufacturers and canon anounced a 120mp cmos in 2010 that they plan to release at the same time or shortly thereafter.
If the A77II is $650 or under at launch and 32MP – I will personally buy you one. Hold me to that. It’s not a joke.
Thank you very much, thats very generous of you.
I hope I am right and will be able to collect.
Look at the D7100 price, now tell me that the Sony is going to have an equvelent spec and be cheaper… Ain’t gonna happen.
If it is $650 or less and 32mp I will definitely be owning one.
Assuming that it isn’t a butchered low spec model then the launch price will be around 1200 for a REAL A77 replacement.
Sony think they are a premium brand so will set the price high as per the ridiculous A99 launch price.
It may be announced in May but when will it ship? Winter ’14/’15?
Sony cameras usually ship a month later, lenses on the other hand…
yes, very soon after the announcement!
all i care about is, does it have 4K? if not, fail.
I think 4K will become rather standard I would be VERY surprised if it does not support it… hell even mobile phones allow 4K recording already (sure it’s crap due to the tiny sensor but if it can manage it I’m sure Sony’s top of the line APS-C camera can…
Do note that current SD card speeds just aren’t good enough for 4k video. The data rate is just too much. You need XQD cards or better for 4k video.
Honestly I would rather have 2 SD card slots than 4k video and have one XQD slot and one SD card slot. XQD support and 4k support will simply drive the camera to be very expensive. And with no A65 replacement on the way the A7 II has to be priced pretty low.
What are you talking about? GH4s 4K is 100mbps, even cheap SDs can handle that. Even 200-400 is feasible on better SDs
100-400 mbps its 12.5-50 MBps. The regular extreme (sandisk) cards are 30MBps.
The good ones supports up to 95 MBps.
Please double check on the Panasonic website. AFAIK 4k video support is ONLY if you use their new P2 SD cards. 4k is not supported by SD cards.
Even professional 4k cameras have SD card slots but do not support 4k video on those slots. You need XQD, P2 or SXS memory cards to record 4k video.
Same reason Sony uses (supports) Memory stick and Nikon uses XQD. Proprietary hardware to keep you on their system.
BMD does use SD cards–for their Pocket camera which shoots only 1080p. Remember 4K is 4X the data rate if you want comparable quality from the same codec. BMD uses only ProRES and RAW so that means at 1080P you can still use really fast SDHC/SDXC cards (~200mbps for ProRes, ~500mbps for RAW) but you need SSDs to handle the 4K camera at 4X that data rate.
Presumably the 4K camera could have used SDHC UHS-II cards for ProRes (theoretical 1.5gbps) but those are even newer than the BMD 4K camera and AFAIK the XT1 is the only consumer camera that uses them (some reports say the GH4 does, other say the GH4 is still UHS-I, in either case it isn’t actually shipping yet).
Gives me a new FF A-mount with 36MP, clean ISO 25600, 8FPS body! Maybe I am dreaming, haha! No 4k video please, we are not ready yet. 😀
Cameras that are 4k capable generally have the option to record 1080 or lower as well.
But the price will be driven up for a video quality which we hardly can use for now. Furthermore we need memory space for it. Would be nice only for 10 minutes, not more else we need to get those new 6TB and a 4 Bays NAS, haha!
Hard to say if thats true, simply because panasonic and BM are both offering 4K cams for less than 3K.
Storage is getting cheaper and cheaper with SSDs, And a good NaS/Storage Bay (like Drobo) are really just a 1-time purchase. 1TB HDDs are like $50 nowadays.
Yes but with much, much smaller sensors.
I look forward to buying an A77II when they become available. I’ll look at it as an upgrade from my A100. Since Sony has started to change the old Minolta hot shoe, I believe the newer cameras all ship with a hot shoe adapter, so we can still use our old Sony flash equipment. I have a lot invested in big flashes and full frame A-mount lenses.
The hot shoe adapter is rubbish, if you don’t constantly check it your flash falls off. People have broken F58 flashes as a result.
Sorry to learn that. I have many F58 flashes. They are big and heavy and best used in the slave mode, off camera. I managed to break the foot on one of my F58s but was able to super glue back together. It still works.
For on-camera use I hope to be able to use my little HVL-F20AM as the master flash.
Thank you for the warning. I’ll keep an eye on the flash. Maybe I’ll be forced to buy the new small flash that better mount on the new shoe. So many bad mouthed the Minolta hot shoe that Sony caved in and made a different one. I liked the old Minolta style one.
I wonder.. with Sony being so slow to make new flashes or new cameras with the new hotshoe. Have they been thinking of going back to the Minolta hotshoe ??
Probably in their minds, they wish to concentrate more on E mount and lenses rather than flashes which probably doesn’t sell too well.
Good news to see things are moving along and we can expect some new ‘Alpha’ camera’s and details shortly…
Bad news is current A77 users like myself might be missing out on a significant firmware update and I’m guessing Sony will not run any ‘trade up’/’trade in’ or promotion to move existing A77 customers upto the new version? (would be great if Sony did consider a program like this or similar)…
In my experience you’re always better off flogging your old body on ebay…
or keep it as a backup..
but ive got rid of my older A100.
things i would like to see in the next A77 vs the current one..descending importance .
1.25k usable iso ( even on large prints ) 🙂 .
2.faster more accurate AF .
3.faster fps with bigger buffer.
4.that borrowed anti shake system from olympus
5.full user manipulation options ( bracketing , noise reduction ..etc ) .
as for 4k vid ..while its nice to yell look at my new shiny and what can it do i can barely find usage for editing older movies at 720p mts format ..frankly unless you got a pro station its hell to edit so for all i care and better yet if it saves probably a lot of cost on a new camera 4k is not needed for me .
#2 & half of #3 is already its strong points, but sure, more is always better!
Bigger buffer, yes!
also add:
– OSPDAF.
– App support.
– Remote control// tethering.
– Less limiting configuration of buttons.
– New flash shoe of course.
– No/Less EVF lag.
– Keep the Swivel mounted LCD!
– New SLT mirror giving more light and less noise wouldn’t hurt.
– New jpeg engine.
– Video with pixel binning instead of line skipping.
– New OS with better multitasking so it is doesn’t lock up when it works.
I know this will probably not happen, but I would like to see a 16MP APC sensor with excellent high ISO and 10fps big buffer for raw shooting. Them we would have an alternative to a D4 or 1DX for sports shooting.
The uwa zoom and a portrait lens (85 f1.8) would be the next important lenses that the system needs (A7/A7r). Then a 100 or 105 f2.8 macro (hope it won’t be a 90mm). By the time of the faster lenses (35 1.4 or 1.8, 50 1.2 or 50 f2 OSS, 135 2) I guess Sony will launch the second generation of A7/A7r (A8/A8r)
I just an A99 Mark II with a 36MP sensor and no optical pass filter. Love the A99
And Sony should keep their newest and best sensor technology exclusive to the A99 for at least 10 months, why let the competition shine using Sony’s best. Also offer two sensors for the A99, one 24 megapixel with best in class iso performance and a 36 or more megapixel sensor minus the anti aliasing filter with best in class resolution.
Sony will not keep thier sensors exclusive
Sony is the industry leader in sensors and makes much more money with thier sensors than thier cameras and lenses.
The competitors cameras are far more important to sony than Sony cameras and generate much more money for them.
…and I just want the A99 with a similar to A6000’s sensor design architecture: an FF 24MP with OSPDAF, CDAF. Also ability to lock-up the SLT mirror when the lens is compatible to fully benefit from that AF system or when shooting MF.
+1
Hope you get some spec’s soon to share :-)….
sony give me 36+ megapixel with super clean iso6400 and 4k video in better codac that AvcHd I Will be sony shooter for the next 5 years is that fair !!
Finally some good A-mount news. 4K is really not needed. They can skip it and lower the price instead….
But I still really hope for a FW update for A77
It’s good to hear that the A77II launch date is drawing closer every day. It there any news of an additional G-Series, or Zeiss A-Mount lenses? I’m really hoping for a SAL35F14Z or SAL35F14G2 or an updated SAL2470Z this year.
Zeiss 35mm f1.4, since 24, 50, 85,135mm are Zeiss. And Zeiss 18mm f4 for landscape, this will roughly complete the Zeiss series lenses.
An a-amount version of the 15mm zeiss rectilinear lens would fill in a gap of the line-up.
Admin, do you know if they will keep updating old lenses with weathersealing? Bought the SAL50F14Z because it seems to be the only future proof Zeiss lens right now (with both SSM and weathersealing implemented) while all other Zeiss lenses lacks weathersealing, SSM or both features.. I’m happy with the SAL135F18Z too but I bought it just because it was being offered with a interesting discount in new condition.
Isn’t there suppose to be a FF announced and/or released before the 77II? Have not heard much about this. Also hope to get some specs on the 77II soon.
I Hope it is a Minolta A7D shape FF camera.
