Sorry dear readers, I have to use this space to make a question to an anonymous source that just sent me interesting info.
UPDATE_5: New message to the source: I always try to double or triple check info. So please have patience. As you can imagine there are many wrong rumors floating around and I try to avoid to make mistakes or mislead people.

oooh the drama! how could we possibly ignore this!
Ignore his post? 🙂
Now doing my best to ignore this…
Damn sorry guys, but it was really the ONLY way to get some feedback. But I finally I got some clue about the A and E-mount time table. I had info about the cameras, btu no info about when exactly each camera will be released. If the source is right we have to wait just a tiny little bit more than expected (1-2 months).
No problem Andrea! These things keeps this site alive!
LMFAO!!!!! 😀
“To readers: Please ignore this post”… Yeah, right.
Andrea, you just unleahed hell on SAR: wait and see!
April?! It better be amazing……..
Any info on the successor of RX1 Andrea?
No successor, but a new camera with different specs 😉
The A99 is not old!!!!!!! These expectations are really not fair. Nov 2014 would still be a generous life cycle.
Once it’s out it’s old! 🙂
Your talking about the one in the presentation. Its the one that sits between the A77, and A99. A possible A88.
http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/one-a-mount-camera-that-will-replace-both-a77-and-a99/
Not talking about the A99 successor 🙂
Approx new FF A mount timing then?
Not before April.
I think the next A-Mount FF is likely the one in the sit between the A77, and the A99. In fact there was a Sony presentation from the fall showing this. Who knows maybe they’ll call it the A88, and even have an R model.
Is there ever going to be an edit function on this website?
After the Sony A99 release on 2012-09-12 the RX1, RX1r, A7, A7r have been released. One day before the Nikon D600, which has seen already the D610, five days before the Canon 6D. So not old by age, but… since then there have been considerable lower priced offering arrived from the competition (including its own inhouse offerings).
Nikon had a redesigned shutter mechanism that didn’t sprinkle oily specks on the sensor (on the D610). They never acknowledged the problem with the D600, but the rapid replacement cycle allowed them to fix the problem without fully taking responsibility for the D600 problem. The D610 is essentially a fixed D600.
I agree its unlikely they’ll replace it before Photokina 2014, 16 – 21 Sep 14.
I’m pretty sure Sony can’t understand why we are patiently waiting for new A-Mount bodies. There product cycles for the high end A-Mounts is 4 years.
The A-Mount cameras are on there normal release schedule, for semi-pro/professional cameras. The A700 was released in Nov 70, it replacement arrived Oct 11. The A77 is barely two and a half years old.
The A900 was launched Sep 08, and was replaced by the A99 4 years later (Sep 12)
Do we really need a replacement? Do you really want shorter product cycles?
How many of us have actually maxed/tapped out the potential of our current products?
I meant Nov 07
Ok I can now exclusively reveal the new FF APS-C EA-mount camera with IBIS coming this Mayrch ’14 (my sources cannot confirm the first 2 numbers of the year) will come with a sensor that uses microlenses to capture images in 3D and with post-snap variable bokeh effects and universal focal length at 64 TP (terapixels) which makes zoom lenses obsolete. However you can only print your photos in a snow globe.
lol.
Andrea, I suppose the new infos are related to the Nex 7 successor?
Yes also. This one is confirmed. No surprise.
‘UPDATE_3: Forgot on question….So the A-mount camera you told me about has no SLT???’.
You make us curious!!!!! Doesn’t it have a mirror either?
Sony is keeping huge secrets on this. And also actively trying to mislead.
Thanks a LOT Andrea! For the amazing work you do!
No surprise meaning that this will be a boring camera or that you already know the features and you learned nothing new?
Introduction of the NEX 7 successor is also postponed til april? So hitting stores in June? Or was that just the A-mount stuff?
no, no postponement here.
Ah, great, thanks for the Klarstellung.
Just to keep the interest on site. Why you don’t ask “Thanks for info” and not “Thanks for all the APS-C E and A-mount camera and lens info”? And if you have some info, why is not shared? What is the point of SR1, SR2?
I think you’re a marketing tool because I open a rumors site and here is not rumors it’s only real informations.
If I am wrong, change your classification from SR1 to SR3 or do something.
Any news on a FF monochrome NEX (sorry, “ILCE” 🙂 )?
still waiting for the info to be shared 🙂
This is the only single time when I can understand (and even agree with) the complete silence about A-mount from Sony.
Sony is riding the A7/A7R wave now and will continue to do so till the sales are hot. For a lot of people the FE-mount is a replacement of A-mount. Many will sell their old large cameras and get new, mirrorless ones. Something they might not do if they knew something awesome is coming to A-mount. And lets face it, it has to be if it’s to compete with A7R.
My guess is Sony is aiming to go all pro with the next generation A-mount. Better, faster, stronger than anything we’ve seen to date. Same as was the case with RX100 vs other compacts, RX1 vs all other fixed lens cams and now A7R vs other mirrorless. New A-Mount will shake the world, remember these words ;-).
I agree. Mirror-less isn’t catching on like they had hoped for world wide. Sony will likely give the A7 / A7r as much of a running start as they can.
Exactly. I just can’t understand why people are so nervous about Sony’s silence. They want the e-mount to sell as much as possible- for now. A good business strategy would be to KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! You don’t want all of your secrets spilt out just yet.
As soon as the FF e-mount hype fizzles- BAM, you have new a-mount offerings to carry your division through the back half of 2014. Silence- nothing more than pure strategy.
Am I the only one who sees the pattern? A77 successor rumored for spring 2013.. Delayed till fall.. Then to “very early 2014.” Rumors that 2014 would be the “year of the A-mount”… Meanwhile new e-mount cameras that start taking over the “A” designation… “Year of the A mount” turns into “maybe 1 or 2 cameras eventually”. “Very early 2014” turns into mid 2014…
Sony claims they changed the name of NEX so people would not think the systems were incompatible… But they ARE incompatible… Unless traditional a-mount is disappearing..
For a while, I thought Sony was killing the a-mount. Then came some reassuring rumors and statements…
But now it’s starting to feel like a-mount is on life support at death’s door, and Sony is just putting off the decision whether to end life support or not.
Sony’s product cycles are normally 48 months for is pro / semi pro cameras.
They’ll likely be dropping a new FF model in A-Mount product line this year, that sits between the A77 and the A99. Not as a replacement for the A99.
The actual SONY presentation for it is on this web forum archives.
The A77/A99s might receive an updated sensors, and mirrors this year. R-Types.
48 months? You base it on a single datapoint, the difference between A900 and A99, do you?
Yep, your the only one.

What can you tell us about sensors?
A mount C what res/?
New tech sensors/
And what we are all wondering..do yo not know..are you unsure..or do you need to maintain secrecy?
We all wonder why so little rumor info about A mount specs?
There is three sensors being introduced this year (24mp, 32mp, 36mp) and a 54mp next year. However no one has confirmed if the new 32mp is a APS-C or FF.
