If one was in a market for the A99 this late in the game, I’d say this is actually worth a look now. Yes, you can get the “same” kit for about $3,500 give or take a few $$ and it’s not the MK2 glass, but for a somewhat of a “collectors” edition, this ain’t bad. I pity the fool who paid $12K for it before…

I don’t pity him, the one who paid it wanted to have it. Just like people spent LOTS of money for nice-looking wheels on their cars or decoration on something. It is absolutely ok.

This is the only Hasselblad remade Sony that looks nice in my opinion. Reasonable price if anyone is wanting an A99 at this time and prefers the styling. Personally, I’d rather have a Sony A7rII with 55 f1.8 for that money.
All kinds of small but significant ergonomic improvements made on the Hasse. Improved the cover materials and also made the camera much more glove friendly. The carry lugs are to die for in combination with the Italian leather strap….
There’s also a neat cover for the flash connector.
If they also made the same changes to the sensor as in the Stellar this could be a very good deal.
Just a pity about the lens not being Mk2.
I’ve lost all respect for hasselblad ever since they’ve released these “luxury” cameras.
Now we are talking. Considering it comes with the SAL2470Z and a high quality case…thats’ quite a good deal!
I bought this camera last week for 12000 US Dollars. I feel a little fooled :-/
I think the RX100 remade with one of the grips also looks quite good :).
Ha! 4k is actually reasonable for the combo. But I’d still hate to look like an idiot who paid 12K for it.

I realise these Hasselblad-skin on Sony bodies gets a lot of humor and derision – but I want to say, there is something intrinsically evil to charge $8,000 more than the equivalent Sony camera. Although I guess it’s no different to charging $24,000 for an Apple watch that costs $1,000 in a different skin. It’s the world we live in, but I never want to get used to it.

dunno about Kik, but for me, respect is my opinion, that affects my own thinking and behavior. I don’t have respect to anyone because I think he cares. No company cares about what I think. Don’t you have a job or something? You take everything so personally. The brand tried to do something different and you and your boy Kik don’t have respect for them? When Leica and Panasonic bring out the EXACT same camera with a red dot on it, nobody says a word. They don’t even use the luxury materials. The brand isn’t aimed for people like you. You probably own a A6000 with a kit lens. I don’t even know why I am replying. I have work to do.
I think that is what the majority find so offensive about it. It’s a deceptive greed that is too much to swallow and is being dished up by a company that people used to admire and trust. It’s almost, now, as if their business model is to suck those people in who buy it now, heavily discounted, being fooled into thinking they are getting a good deal. as a hasselblad owner of 2 decades, I have to say it’s something that does not sit well with me. This company is surely doomed.
There is a difference, actually two:
1. Apple has brilliant designers, resulting in brilliant designs (who would have thought that?)
2. Apple actually sells these 24K watches.
Oh, man I bought mine also for 12K. But look what I do: I will buy another one for 4K and then I have paid 16K for both. So, paying double the price for each camera sounds much less stupid than paying triple the price. Don’t am I brilliant?

I’ve lost my respect too, but not because they released luxury cameras. I lost it because they have done that job so terribly bad.
“Luxury” of this flavour and camera equipment seem like such a polarizing pair. I think this combo is “now reasonably priced” as opposed to a “deal”.
