This happens when a A7 gets run over by a car. It suddenly looses one space dimension 🙂
The owner still managed to sell that [shoplink 37546 ebay]2D A7 for $20 on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink]. Chapeau!
Thanks Alex for sharing this 🙂

Perfect! I’d buy a new one with accidental damage insurance and make a claim in a few months if I bought this.
Did it still work?
I bet it can still take better picture than a 5DSR
Nikon bought it to study what was inside.
Wonder why he didn’t sell the F’ed lens that was attached to it.
OMG, recall!! First compressed raws, now this!
It’s quite possible the buyer bought it to scam their contents insurance, but who knows for sure.
That is exactly what I think…
sony.. note that the mode dial is JUST fine.. no need for a lock button on it 😉
Loses once space dimension! Nice. Not to worry though. Due to quantum tunneling, in about 10 to the 32nd years it should spontaneously reassemble.
I’m sure that you just need to buy some glue.
I’m sure any canon would survive this.
This is what it looks like if you just use a car on an A7. You can see where the mount screw went inside the body and rearranged all the PCBs.
Thats What you get when you wish for a camera with a “flat profile” 😀
It (is/was) “just” a regular A7, no A7II. 😛
If that had been my Nikon F2 there would be a very annoyed truck owner posting a picture of his smashed-in suspension on a truck rumour forum.
There’s easier ways to get a pancake lens.
Ahhh, that will buff right out.
Is this what you guys call lossy compression?
This is what the camera looks like after sitting on it for two months.
Not coverd by warrenty
You know you can add the 2 (or 3) year additional coverage that covers accident, drops and spills anytime during the original 1 year warranty. It backdates to the original day of purchase. Came in handy when the lens did a faceplant 2 weeks before the original warranty was up.
In over 45 years I have never dammaged a camera or lens except an srt101 40 years ago.
I have worn out stuff but long after even an extended warrenty would have expired.
So I never purchase extended warrenties.
I was only kidding about sitting on the camera in responses to a comment made yesterday.
The buyer who bought it for $20 may have an extended / accident warranty for the same model camera. Perhaps he bought it to make a claim given that the serial numbers are merely stickies rather than engravings… Assuming the camera gets replaced under warranty, that will make for a very cheap camera… Ok, it would be a scam but some people just don’t care.
so whos the bigger idiot..the one who managed to get that camera run over or the one who actually paid for that on ebay ? ..i mean..what was his search field like ..”here be stupid people ” ???
Just another “slightly used” A7 on Ebay *g*.
Cosmetic blemishes
so, sony, it’s up to you to enhance the body!
Haha, nice try canikon fanboy~ Your little trick won’t stop the inevitable~
*truck 😉
Looks fine to me.
That’s why the A7II had a metal body
That’s the saddest thing I’ve seen all day.
I know people are after smaller cameras but…………
Missed it
And this is why the A7 series can never be a “professional” camera, it failed the run over test.
And then realized they can’t even comprehend the awesome tech they’re examine and thus went berserk and smashed it and said “I quit! I’m going back to film research~!!!”
Just stick a Zeiss lens on it to give it that “3D pop” and it will be good as new.
And what was the last picture it took ?
the tyre running over it
yea the canon would have bounced as it s lighter than air 😀
A new FF format: Fully Flattened.
🙁
I think the buyer bought it to get its box.
The box are for his cat I presume~=D
OMG FE mount is dead!
Listen Sony – we want pancake-lenses!
Who want lossless compression?
Here you are 😛
nope – this compression looks lossy
