Next announcement on September 4 (QX lenscameras and Honami Z1 smartphone)

Next week (September 4) Sony will announce another bunch of new products. The Honami Smartphone with High Quality G lens and sensor. And the famous QX lenscamera series. A source had the chance to test the QX lenses on an iPad and writes:

both camera’s (QX10 and QX100) will connect to the smartphones via NFC and/or Wi-Fi for iOS devices. It works on all smartphones and every setting can be adjusted via the app with the Playmemories Mobile 3.0 app which I have tested as a beta.

I hope sources can soon tell me the price of these QX lenscameras. Thanks!

And one very big announcement could be made in late September for the NEX-FF (and maybe some A-mount news is coming too). More about that soon on SAR!

  1. I’m looking forward to the QX lens camera announcement, this could be a very cool gadget, maybe not for every day use but for those times you might not wanna carry a DSLR.

We shall see price will be a big part of this possible purchase.

Looking at how Sony priced the 18-105G and the A3000 the QX could come at a nice price.

  2. Beyond Sept 4th – Any

OTHER DATE TargetS for OTHER rumored announcments / delivery

    NEW FLASH would be welcomed

New Flash ADAPTERS That LOCK would be especially welcomed.

    and

wondering about the – LAST SLT – rumor

    Any Updates appreciated – Thanks

  3. I have a real interest in the new FF A-mounts or Nex FF. I will be waiting with great anticipation and hope for some awesome cameras.

    1. Yes, please tell us if you know something – good or bad. I have held off from buying the current NEX7 since April & now all quiet about 7n

  4. I guess they won’t release 85mm for E-mount this year… Looking forward for the lens since last year and now I’m a bit disappointed.

          1. Yeah, Sony will be focussing on more substantial updates like the NEX-5T and pushing out firmware updates for their current offerings to stay competitive.

    1. Yeah, what about it now?

I’m equally interested in the 7-follow-up! Is there news, is it even in definitive production after they supposedly had serious issues with the first production run?

AS FF-NEX will be too…mmmh, let say “exclusive” for my budget, I want to know if NEX-7 will also just feature minor updates like the NEX-5T did.

So come on, Andrea give us some rumors we can discuss on!;-)

  5. new action cam included?
hope sony NOT pull out a “5r>5t” again, as in, same current one + NFC
i know SAR is for sonyALPHArumors, but thank you AndreA for taking time to post rumors like the honami and the new QX line (the rumor that cnet laugh but you will had the last laugh)

  6. Does anyone know how Sony will be Naming lenses to designate which E-Mount lenses will be compatible with Full Frame sensors, such as the VGN900 or the New Rumoured FF Nex Camera.

I want to buy more lenses but don’t want to buy anything that won’t work in FF mode on the new Camera.

    1. All lenses so far are supposed to be apsc only. The new FF lenses for a FF NEX are assumed to be E mount but there is potential for a new mount.

    1. ha ha – yes indeed! Well, maybe it does have some limited waterproofing… 100% ?? … i think not.

There is no such thing as 100% waterproof even for the best submarine. Scientifically, they measure it in ATM or M & its never as good as you expect. 3ATM & people think you can go to 30M deep with it, but thats not true. 3ATM is not even for putting in water at all! You need about 10ATM even to safely submerge in a glass of water.

  7. Here’s the first review of the QX cameras!

“The image quality produced by both lenscameras is excellent. This is achieved by using a large APS-C sensor and lenses Sony has previously used in their RX cameras. Connecting the lenscamera to a smartphone is easy, and works most of the times without issues. When using the iPhone only Wi-Fi option is available, which makes the process a bit more time consuming. All that being said, the relatively high asking price and several software glitches makes these cameralenses seem to be more aimed at the early adopters than the mass market.”

    1. QX lens works with WiFi on iPhone. Does this mean iPhone must be in WiFi zone or can the iPhone & QX lens work with WiFi between them?

  8. Yes, loads of news about the NEX 7,but Andrea keeps it to himself…

People just please be patient, if you follow this site a bit you would know that Andrea will be the first to let us know.

    1. However, telling that there are no news about the nex7x is also news in this regard. Then we will not have to get the comments congested with these questions all the time. A way to create patiency…

  9. Any way there can be a “sticky” post somewhere prominent on the site, giving up to the moment status on the stuff people ask about dozens of times in EVERY post?

    Something like…

    As of 8/28/2013:
    – No news about NEX-7/NEX-6/A77 successor.
    – No news about A77 firmware.
    – No news about FF NEX, other than that it’s coming and will cost a ton.
    – No news about what will get IBIS.

    …etc., etc.

  10. Seriously, I don’t care about a smartphone or some useless QX100whatever. Give us some news about NEX7 successor please. Even if you tell us, that it won’t be released in September or whenever. This is way (!) more important to 90% of your readers than some damn smartphone.

  11. I bet none of the recent announcements are of much if any interest to most of the readers here. Sony seems to agressively attempting to increase the ‘base’ of users who could potentially buy lenses but I would assume most of us already own a relatively recent Sony DSLR or Mirrorless. The 2 lens releases are of minor interest to most people. I bet most people interested in 1) new NEX high end successors i.e. NEX 7 update, NEX 6 update, NEX FF 2) firmware udpates 3) lenses both A and E mount that actually expand our capabilities beyond what we have today. Just my .02c
