Sony A7 with the new Zeiss 28mm f/2.0 FE lens..
The same FE lens mockups that were shown at Photokina have been shown at CES too. You can see the new pictures over at Dpreview (Click here). They share some info about the lenses:
90mm f/2.8 OSS macro: “Due to be available in March, this lens features a focus limiter and inbuilt OSS optical image stabilization. Build quality is high. ”
Distagon T* FE 35mm f/1.4 ZA: “is a gorgeous thing. The manual aperture dial is sure to appeal to experienced photographers. This aperture dial can operate in click detents, or smoothly (the latter being ideal for aperture adjustment during video capture). You can switch between the two modes using a click on/off switch on the lens barrel. ”
So far the “unofficial” info is that:
– 28mm f/2.0 G should cost 499 Euro (February shipment)
– 35mm f/1.4 Zeiss should cost 1399 Euro (March shipment)
– 90mm f/2.8 G macro should cost 999 Euro (March shipment)
– 24-240mm f/3.5-6.4 should cost 1099 Euro (March shipment)
– both converters should cost 229 Euro each (March shipment)

can’t wait for Canon’s mirrorless camera and i can choose between 24-105 f4 & f3.5-5.6 🙂 awesome!
and million good, high-quality and normally priced primes 🙂
Canon’s new FE lenses?!?
Why wait, you already have the Canon EOS-M. An unsurpassed mirrorless camera, with the suberb Canon ergonomics, the Pininfarina designed user interface. The stylish EF lens adapter that allows you to use your unsurpassed range of EF lenses on this miracle of technology of a camera. Who wouldn’t want to use their 600mm on such a beauty?
I heard Canon was giving away free chiropractor vouchers with each 600mm, and they were throwing away EOS-Ms in the bundle as well since – and this is the part i don’t understand – environmental regulations prevents them from burying them in the desert. Some miffed Nikon user spreading malicious lies about our great gear deities. Hienas.
Where was i. Yes, this joy of a camera with its unsurpassed AF, it focuses so fast that for quite a few times i questioned the AF accuracy of the camera, but them of course it dawned on me. The camera was so fast that it was focusing faster than i could decide what i wanted to focus in. I humbly realize the errors of my ways, and accept that the camera’s decisions are correct, though this made me question my notions of free will.
Let’s of course, not go into features, because we all know, features are irrelevant, all that matters is the system, and the ergonomics and the lenses.
The internet is full of trollios questioning Canon’s choice of sensors, i say infidels, hienas. You shall not question Canon’s awesomeness. Haven’t you heard Maeda-san? In is infinite wisdom he generously answered our questions at Photokina and confirmed what we all knew all along: that Canon has the best sensors.
Now if you excuse me, i’m going to photograph my cat with my uber 1DX, the epitome of professionalism, and in the right hands, snobbery.
boring
Well it was far more entertaining than yours 😉
Self description?
the eosM hah You know I used my 24-105 on it, it was pretty good for architecture. But what a POS for shooting people and action, the video was dreadful, so glad I got rid of it.
Great, if it means more whiney people like you are going to leave the comments on SAR, then I can’t wait either!
> can’t wait for Canon’s mirrorless camera
There is no one in sight, and why would you want it if you are going to use the same EF lenses? There will hardly be any gain in size or weight.
BTW, my EF lenses can be used on my A7r but is of course a less than perfect solution. Selling them one by one as good FE lenses appear.
Don’t hold you breath, it’s not happening any time soon and will likely be a new mount.
Keep on waiting, don’t give up!
Why mirrorless? You get bad viewfinder, slow autofocus, and slow responding controls. Better a DSLR with an optional evf for those who want it, or tiltable screen with peaking for manual focus assist.
G lenses are nice, but I do prefer the manual focus on the Zeis 24-70 compared to the 70-200 which has a weird way to respond. not very handy while shooting video.
The 28mm f/2.0 is NOT “G”, please stop using a “G” name.
ooops… these lenses are rather big. I prefer the MF Voightlander lenses I use right now. But perhaps they are very light like all the other FE lenses (I use the 35mm and the 55mm also). The 35mm 1.4 is most apealing to me. Nice the aparturering!
Still no portrait prime like 80/85mm, instead this is the third 35mm between Sony and Zeiss for the FF e-mount. Pfffff!
85/1.8 coming at the end of this year.
But that means he will have to wait till the end of the year to complain about it, unsatisfactory.
Are you shure? Would be great if it comes this year. Is there a productsheet /release-calender somewhere?
Still no 1000 mm tele. Pfffft!
Just use the 90mm.
Personally, I wish Fuji was less conservative and were to introduce a full frame X-Pro like camera, with a set of fast primes, as I prefer Fuji’s design and controls, and they have a history of designing very good lenses. Sadly, they aren’t planning on it.
However, if Sony were to introduce a full set of high-quality fast prime lenses, resolve the shutter vibration issues in the successor to the A7r (I don’t like AA filters), and provide the option for uncompressed RAW files (this is a no-brainer, and I can’t believe they restricted the files to compressed RAW – give the user the option! ), even though I don’t like the design and controls, I may consider getting a future A series camera.
I think two of those issues are easy fixes, but lenses are the real question mark.
Spoken like a true troll?
I can’t believe the stuff you try to repeat. Obviously, you lack experience and never talk to the real users.
But you probably don’t want to…
The only trolling right now is you.
And you.
True
Actually, that is my opinion, so I will express it wherever and however I like. I really don’t care what you think…Obviously you are just a fanboy who gets upset if someone’s opinion differs from yours.
Would love a A7R II and true raw files without the compression, or as you say at least give us the option. Sony did a great job making every button programmable, now let’s make the quality settings adjustable. If you want to appeal to a wide audience you have to include this.
I totally agree.
And Anton Berlin could die happy.
or maybe he could just die? please?
You won’t get the uncompressed RAW because there’s no need for that. Might as well give up.
Vlad – run a comparison between a Nikon and Sony file – huge differences. You’re self deceiving yourself if you don’t seek out the reality.
Hi Anton. I’d love to see a difference in RAW files. Can you post something for us to see? I’m really intrigued as my Sony RAW files look great. Thanks mate!
Yes, post some comparisons! We won’t hold our breath……..
Oh, you’re back! Still nothing to show?
28/2 is the only lens that will make the emount an affordable system. Hope Sony comes out with a 85/2.8 at the same size and price.
Hope so, too. 28/2 + 21 Converter will come just right to my birthday.
Will sell then my Zeiss “Hollywood” 2/28 from 1980 and get the 2015 Sony lens for the money.
As well a very light successor for the Zeiss 2.8/85 from the same time is required.
Exept of prices Sony is fully in line with my wishes in their road map.
Go ahead Sony. The roadmap is great – just prices of several lenses are significantly tooooo high for many of us.
Why should I go mirrorless, with all the ensuing problems, if lenses are this huge? That flawed mount is a beast.
There are slower smaller lenses available. That’s the thing: smaller camera, smaller lenses if you wish.
If only there was a smaller slower version with outstanding image quality…
And the mount is too small for image stabilization, ask any troll.
Oh good let us all make a lists of all the things we should not do and why.
Somebody forcing you?
It’s called “flexibility”
Actually that picture is mislabeled, it also has the fisheye converter attached to the front of the lens making it much bigger than the 28mm alone.

The new 35 is gonna have everyone’s attention, but I hope to read some in depth reviews on the 28/2, that’s my favorite focal length!
Pity there’s no Sigma 35mm f1.4 on E mount. No 100% Zeiss tax, same speed, great IQ,
I’m with you on this. I’d love to see a 3rd party company make a 35mm f1.4 or 1.8 FE lens. The Sony version sounds amazing, but I’d have to sell my children in order to afford it.
IQ wise, I’d imagine the Zeiss will have the edge. I loved my Sigma 35/1.4 on a-mount, but my 55/1.8 definitely beats it on the performance and rendering front (and does it for less than half the weight).
100%? Let’s not get crazy.
Really like this focal length too … Even if this lens is a 3/5 review I’m all over it
I like the 28mm. And with the converter you got a 21mm. Only hope image quality is good.
Now where is the “easy chooise” (small, good, cheap) primes like
24mm, 35mm and 85mm?
And the APS-C sensor size RX10?
They tell us that IBIS means lenses can be made smaller, they then put stabilization in some of the lens anyway. Also, who are you quoting? Who said “chooise” and what does it mean?
Should be “easy choice”. Some cheap, small but good primes Sony made for the A-mount DSLR’s. Google it. An option for us people who don’t want or can to spend 5000$ on glass.
They definitely need an easy choice option for people starting out. Personally I was ok paying for the 55/1.8 and 35/2.8 as it’s a long term investment in good glsss (the 90/2.8 completes the set as far as I’m concerned). However I can see why people don’t want to pay those prices if they mostly shoot with zooms.
I guess the prices seem reasonable compared to canon/sigma but I’d like them to be wider aperture. I will buy some leica lenses I guess but right now I’m waiting for the a7r mk2 before I invest in anything
The 28mm IS essentially the ‘easy choice’ option. There has only ever been one ‘easy choice’ model for FF A-Mount, the 85mm f2.8. The others are all APS-C.
But when will we finally get an 85 mm FE (/1.4 or 1.8), that is what I really would like to know…
Let us wait for a new Alpha will come in 2015! If 48 MP then the 85mm has to be good! I think Zeiss do have to wait and then make test to optimize a new 85mm/1.4 or 1.8! Under 50mm it is easier to built a very good lens, but for 85mm and upper to make sharp lenses is not so easy, for high megapixel sensors!
None of this matters if Sony has A7r shutter shock and lossy files.
Honestly, shut the f.u.c.k. up and go play with your ancient-tech Nikon while the adults are talking.
Maybe it’s your shaky old wrinkled hands causing the problem Asston.

Understand that FE 28/2 is not G lense ?
Yep – from the pictures it’s a standard Sony. Looks like they’ll have standard, G and Zeiss flavours going forwards. I’m not 100%sure how they’re differentiating Zeiss and G (presumably oss primes and telezooms?). Nice to see a more budget friendly option anyway.
They have always had ‘standard’ (plain Sony), G and Zeiss. Zeiss is premium wider FL’s, G is longer and Sony are the inexpensive options. Now they are adding two Sony ‘standard’ lenses (3 total), a G (3 total) and a Zeiss (5 total).
In less than 2 weeks Nikon responds with a fix for the D750 flare issue but Sony’s flawed A7r has had no recalls for the shutter shock and lossy compression after more than a year. If you want a toy camera for making JPEGs the Sony (and all others will work just fine) but if you want a real professional capable camera that produces real 14 bit files, you will have to use a Nikon.
And when oh when will Nikon respond with a fix for their broken and useless mirrorless camera system? Never sounds about right. So you’d think they could at least get their old -tech garbage out of the gate correctly then. But nope. Flare issues, oil on sensor… All while not innovating at all!
Yawn.
When will Nikon recall and replace the defective cameras Asston?
Are those real “14 bit” files?
Does it matter?
No it doesn’t. But this issue has seriously hurt Nikon’s reputation amongst its social photography professionals who have been the most enthusiastic adopters of the D750.
Oh, I misread the post I was replying to!
Agreed, Nikon messed up here.
Won’t help you, you couldn’t take ONE DECENT PICTURE on that A7R. You have no portfolio, no website, you’ve never had anything published. You are an internet troll and a fauxographer who merely collects cameras. Bye-bye!
You’re becoming a little like that radical religious fanatic. All over the web, you keep yelling your message at people who quite frankly think you’re an idiot. Why bother? You’d be better employed signing up for some basic camera courses and learning the craft of photography. Maybe then, you’ll be a little less frustrated with your inability to photograph what you see and actually produce some images you’re comfortable sharing with the world.
Now they have to admit to the D810’s issue!
Can you proof D800 files greater than A7R ?
They would be. The A7r is half the camera of a D810. D800 and e are close to the 810
But my Sony shooters are 10 times the photographer you’ll ever become. I’m trying to give you a leg-up here with the super-duper D810. Just get off your fat a$$ and go make some pictures for dads sake.
http://www.nikon.com go there and enjoy some quiet time, or actually tell sony about the issue, what do you expect from the comments? We go out and solve the problem for you?:

All short lenses, not one of them 300 or above.
What sort of message are Sony sending out for their ‘E’ mount range when they don’t feel confident enough that the camera will suit ALL types of photography, not just foodies/streetshooters and the like.
The message is that the system being one year old, they will first cover the most popular FLs.
To be fair, once the macro’s out the focal lengths I use most are all covered with good primes (which is exactly what I wanted from FE).
In terms of FL, same here. Not so sure about the aperture choices. Anyway, my point was that the 300mm is hardly a priority at this point.
That is a tricky one for Sony. I do tend to agree that we could make use of something longer (perhaps a version of the 70-400?), but perhaps they need to really hone the AF accuracy and speed to suit many of the types of shots involving longer lenses first?
Nothing would get people more annoyed than having a lens that can’t deliver sharp results owing to camera limitations.
I think it can be done and then the world will really open up to Sony. I suppose we’ll just have to be patient, though.
At a guess, either they think there’s more money in wider lenses than telezooms at this stage, or they’re still covering the bases. The 28mm gives various WA options and the 90mm adds an FE macro and a short tele to the lineup (so they kill several birds with 2 stones). I’m not sure what the point is in yet another 35mm or an expensive superzoom, but I’m probably not their target market…
A 70-400 is probably in the works.
That 28mm should’ve been 2.8 or even slower. It starts to become confusing as to what they are trying to achieve.
Why?
Sony is obviously trying to replace DSLRs with their mirrrorless. Lenses like 24mm f/1.4 will be needed, not f/2.8.
I thought they were trying to go compact, but apparently that is not the case. Now, it starts to look like a system that is in-between – slow primes and zooms in some FLs versus fast primes in other FLs. I would’ve expected them to stick to one approach in the beginning.
I think their approach has been fairly consistent actually. They went with slower (F4) zooms (and the “slow” 35mm prime) to put out the light/”compact” options, and now they’re filling in with the fast glass to round out the system, to make it appealing for those beyond the crowd that just wants light/compact. Makes sense to me.
Yep, the FE 2.8/35 is lovely wide-open. And she’s tiny, unlike my 35L that was lovely at f/2 but HUGE by comparison.
It doesn’t make sense to me. Where’s the slow 28mm option? Or the fast portrait one? The zooms are slower, but not that small. In reality, only the 35 is compact, with the 55 being decent. If these are my light/compact options, I will end up buying Loxias. But, as I said, I simply think that this is inconsistent, maybe that is what the market wants. I’d be surprised if that is the case though.
If the loxias were 800 or less I’d go that route. I do believe they make the most sense given the FE ethos of small and light. Yet, with MF, it puts it in the realm of casual photography for me. I’m ok with that, but the price is prohibitive I think. The performance is solid, but I might just buy the film versions. Maybe better resale value and they can still hold their own.
True, not cheap. But I don’t mind MF on most of my lenses… actually, I prefer it. On the other hand, I am quite happy with my Voigtlanders now, so I might just keep them.
What Voigtlanders do you recommend? For me MF is fine especially with wide angle primes.
HF, I am using SLII ones, they are small, so even with the adapter they make for a compact package. I’d recommend them all, but it depends on what you need. My priority concerning the VLs is compactness and they are great for that. Considering the price and size (bought in Japan), the quality is excellent. The 20mm can be somewhat weaker in the corners, but really sharp in the center and handles flare amazingly well – don’t trust charts with this one, look at samples. The 40mm is prob almost as good as the FE 35mm (according to reviews, don’t have the FE), but faster, I certainly have no complaints. The 58mm has great bokeh and stopped down is very sharp too, not much worse than my FE55, but wide open is softer, has more CA and less contrast. That is only comparing to the FE though, otherwise it is one amazing fifty.
Note that they all render very differently than a Zeiss, less contrasty overall and with different colors. Also, with my rather expensive Metabones adapter, the markings are off, so you need to test the lens a bit to be able to adjust for the error.
Here’s a very short review of the 20mm on an a7r featuring a sample file (not mine)
http://bmupix.com/home/2013/12/21/the-case-of-the-missing-a7r-review
Thanks.
really how, much smaller do you need the 28mm to be
In itself, it isn’t that big. But if I am supposed to put an UWA adapter on it, I’d prefer it smaller. It’s bait tiring with all these fast lenses nowadays. Not enough choice for slower high quality primes.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/890582-REG/Voigtlander_bd296a_28mm_F_2_8_SL_II_Lens_Nikon.html
E-Mounts were initially designed to be the compact system, but then Sony changed in 2014, when Zeiss 35 f/1.4 came out for FE instead of A-Mount. Now they are trying to replace DSLR with mirrorless, since they obviously have zero interest in taking the SLT line any further; so, lenses like FE 70-200 f/2.8 and even FE 500mm f/4 will have to eventually appear.
Yes, apparently that is the case.
+1
You shoot that 24 Nikkor @ f/1.4 much? You like the results from your D810 in full 14bit goodness? I think not, none of them are worth a cr@p below f/2.
I don’t own a Nikon. What are you talking about?
The 28mm is small. Isn’t there a wide angle extension in the image?
Curious about the large aperture prime. Since they didnt mean the 35/1.4, might it be an even faster one? Is it even possible to design say a 85/1.2 or 50/1.2 in FE? Heard Nikon cant do f/1.2s…
Hmm, I really doubt they would go for f1.2. But in light of the 35 Distagon I think an 85mm f1.4 (with aperture ring) seems feasible.
The Sony 28mm f/2.0 is very inexpensive if the 499 Euro (US$591.00) is correct. Nikon’s 28mm f/1.8 costs US$700.00 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007VGGIRK/?tag=kenrockwellcom
and the sony appears much much smaller, but that won’t stop the masses complaining about how big the sony lenses are and how great canikon is…..
+100000
I know, lets perpetually teach and demonstrate plurality with crop APSC equivalent focal lengths so that we can simply unlearn them all later, the qualities are similar if not identical in all honesty and by realistic economy in these times of austerity and over consumerism. After all they are technically and hipsteristicaly directly equivalent to 35mm cameras, JUST MICROSCOPICALY SIZED AND BY PROPORTION THUS CHEAPER TO MANUFACTURE AND SOLD EN MASSE and once we have what each focal length is best used for understood, you know wide angle landscape and long lens closeup portrait…
OR JUST NOT: USE 35mm CAMERA BODY AND LENSES
oh and didn’t a recent rumour even betray this to be the sort of way the Sony A7 cameras are designed to be considered as opposed to ‘i went to the local department store and bought camera a. a compact looking cam with cool images referenced with it.? GO WORK IN A DEPARTMENT STORE TROLLS, TROLL THERE, YOUR ELITE KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND JUST DON’T CARE ANYMORE, THEY ARE TOO BUSY TROLLING PEOPLE WHO ARE EFFECTIVE INEFFECTIVELY
Well said. 🙂
I think you may need to change your medication.
I think you may need to stop photography before you take it seriously.
What Is It? you have to pretend to be someone else?
Lets talk about that…
1. First we can talk about your pretending to be someone else, (someone very smart and insightful who speaks wisdom)
2. Then you may have your porridge and then alone, (otherwise you may not as porridge is not a right but a privilege)
3. You will never be left to have to pretend to be someone you are not, we know where you are and will always follow you to make sure 🙂 (we=people who know you are not who you pretend to be and may deny you your porridge)

Thanks for the heads up anyway ‘brother’ but i think when i mastered the arts and put postmodern consensus into the dark you kinda got lost…
Yep… your meds definitely aren’t working.
All the trolls are cowards who wont take the responsibility themselves and rather have others take the consequences
Says the person who doesn’t even have a profile picture on his Disqus account. You are too funny.
Responsibility for what? Consequences of what exactly? If you made any sense whatsoever, I’d be happy to make more constructive comments.
Have a great day!
Thank you,

I’m sorry if my principle of ‘process’ before ‘image’ upsets you.
If you actually ‘tested’ your ideas before exclaiming ‘look at this image i have shot, objectivity is dead’ you might actually improve your photography.

Constantly seek improvement 🙂 thank you.
Another stream of incoherent BS. You’re either the most bizarre troll I’ve ever come across, or seriously in need of psychiatric help.
Either way, bye. Have a nice life.
You like my new more colourful avatar at least, well subjectively? 🙂
You have a princicple? Do your parents let you take photographs?
That thing is huge. I guess if you can’t get the shot, you can beat it into submission. Holy purple cosmic Krishna smurf. Are we seriously contending this stuff is compact anymore? Looks like it will be a good lens though- maybe even “affordable.”
It is bigger in itself than a slow 21mm lens directly to e mount might be, but less expensive in combination with the 28mm f/2 presumably…anyone know what speed aperture it becomes with that on? I have fast 28mm and not so fast 21mm which are both fairly compact but adapted longer than that, and this is looking very similar indeed :I
We need wider. 28 is not wide IMO. It’s an easy focal range to cover with adaptable options and zooms. Come one, give us a 15, 17 or 20mm G series prime. How else can I add drama to otherwise boring landscapes?
Read my pamphlet, it may enlighten you. thank you and the jar is in the corner.
Listen and relax while you peruse 🙂
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XapQZXWoJjU
Ignore the trolls, they are slow headed and wish for damnation or something
I can barely read your comments let alone a pamphlet. I don’t have my Doctorate yet.
Agreed. For the first WA they should’ve went wider. 28 and 35 are quite close.
FE has never been compact. If Sony want to replace DSLR with mirrorless, they’ll have to make much larger lenses anyway.
You realize it has the 16mm fisheye extender on it?
I think its a shame they went with a fisheye… Would be cool to have a 16/2 prime otherwise.
Brilliant, how instructive useless trolls are. And kind and quick witted, there when it matters or rather not and mattering when it does not.
All I want is for Sony to make a light, compact and short profile wide angle lens for FE. A Zeiss/G fast autofocusing 20mm f/2 (or f/4) lens will do it. Attaching the wide angle converter on the FE28mm will off the balance on any stabilizer and the long profile of the lens will be hard to adjust.
A lightweight and short profile lens will be very helpful for us video users. The aperture size doesn’t matter because it can always be compensated with the ISO level.
An autofocus 20mm FE lens please Sony. Thank you!
This is kinda absurd no?
Do you even understand the purpose why I’m asking Sony to make a 20mm? If you shoot video you will understand why and you will even agree and beg Sony for such lens.
And how it is absurb if it is possible to make and very logical for video shooters?
Its absurd because you all come from the same place, or at least the ones i knew, in Totnes in Devon. Its absurd because it all followed me around while i had no contact with the source, all but that sort of three part statement with all the parts that formed it in the mind of he who stated it. recurring and perpetual, its absurd because there was a lot a lot of people who could do something simple to stop it and yet nothing was done for me, nothing but what i have done for others, and all, all the absurdity is wrapped right up. I mastered it all i guess and well you troll and that’s quite sad really isn’t it: for you were the real brothers…, i actually have a plan and needs but you JUST troll, that’s quite sad think. Ive shown you how it is done but you must prove otherwise and its led to this…A million? more than..the point is i have shown another way and have lived it and lived through it and must always live on with it, yet what do i have to show for anyones commitment to my requirements…my basic safety and my progress. the existential matter of a need that is formed only by a great wrong as always, JUST another of little consequence otherwise, you know this and that’s why its absurd i and my life proves it again and again. Im not someone with any problem, therein lies the problem…engaging with anyone who is on that level of existence…you talk at the other end and well its JUST sad isn’t it.
You forgot the YouTube video… Please follow the Script the voices in your head are telling You.
lol dude you got some issues. I was so serious but then I just got trolled hard in this site by you. You can keep doing what you are doing because you are keeping us entertained and you’re just bringing more traffic to this site. Keep trolling because the more you troll the more people will discover about this site and the more people will find out about the awesome Sony camera products <3
The trolls of Totnes Devon are, thank them i f i had it i would have one less problem I alone fixed the others thanks
Not bad at photography after no time though huh?
oh yeah, facts and absurdity, my bad, responsibility and existential need…
i say troll GOV and troltopia
It also works negatively. For example I am beginning to think the Sony customer-base is full of childish retards whereas the Canon community has always seemed fairly adult to me in comparison. It is a bit worrying if Sony’s target demographic is a mentally challenged teenager
Devon is a small place and Totnes is probably the smallest place in it…
They are the good ones 🙂 its JUST i am the master and they said some bad things JUST now, i have real problems more with well you know bad ones…(as described)
I have a point even of my friends though right?
its sad isnt it, i guess i finally mastered their own matters too..for them…
the flipside of nihilism is the opposite!
I feel hard done by with the failure to understand my basic greivence with gov and at once the need to be a big player in society, someone earning high etc and not just super sexy and suited and whatever trash they put in thier sexchat world of indifference and politics.

I don’t reply to any points you make; I talk at you, not to you; you are a low-tier troll
All I want is an FE version of this lens. It is doable in narrower aperture.

The LAEA4 is just terrible to use for video use because the AF points are all in the middle of the screen. I need a native E-mount lens so I can take advantage of the camera’s wider focus.
Optically high end 20 or 24mm f 2.8, 3.5 or evem f4 (highly compact Zeiss) would make sense.
Yes! finally someone who can understand. All I want is an FE version of this lens. I don’t care how much it will be as long it can do autofocusing.

Exactly.
yes all exactly..or not, shall i JUST make simple diagrams for all these, ideas of mine, so you trolls can work and pay off the blackmailer and do something GOOD, against GOV for once
?
DO i even love? no its not absurd its evil.
If you plan on dying, please do it soon, do not breed in any way but
If at all possible, could you take a picture of your death and post it here, pretty sure you wil finally get some UP votes.
I refer to that part where the friendly troll couldn’t hope to appropriate the good in my form never mind the bad!
Do you really need to have a say at everything? It gets boring, you know.
It’s the 28mm with the wa add on right?

Sony’s roadmap is good. Unfortunately, the timeline does not reflect the market situation. In commercial availability they are half a year behind shown schedule. Prototype schedule is not that much helpful for photographer’s reality. I would prefer, if Sony would visualize market introduction instead.
What is it with this inconsistent Elpha lens plan? Some with aperture rings, some without. Some with zoom ring front, some with zoom ring rear. Some with fly-wire focus, some with manual focus. Some with distance scales, some without. Some with hard infinity stop, some without.
Like each lens has a different designer, and they aren’t talking to each other to keep things consistent. This is truly the most discombobulated ill conceived system on the market. Maddening.
Some with metal ridged focus rings, some with rubber ridges, and now the macro with knurled rubber ring.
Why so inconsistent? Lenses may as well come from different companies.
At leas Loxia and Samyang lenses stay consistent throughout their lineup.
Large aperture prime is likely going to be f/1.8 again, as 1.4 or 1.2 should be left to Canon and Nikon, like it’s somehow overkill for Sony.
Better yet, how about introducing a 45mm f/2 pancake lens so that they can pay their respects to Minolta.
