  1. Well Frank that’s not the only issue : they are still terribly more expensive than the corresponding Canon/Nikon primes. Almost as usual with Sony! Sony need to understand that they need to compete on lens quality/price ratio as well if they want to fight Canikon! For a serious photographer, whether amateur or pro, the price/quality of the lens system is a big choice factor

    1. Well if the early reports are anything to go by, the 55mm 1.8 is in a completely different league from the Canon and Nikon equivalents.

  2. So sad I could cry. So, I held my a7 in my hands today when the Sony store opened. (pick up here in Hong Kong is November 15). But, when I tested all the buttons, the delete button didn’t click… it was just kind of mushy. (I have the same issue with the lower soft button on my NEX-6, and it really bothers me for some reason).

So, I told them I wanted a body with all buttons properly assembled clicking like they are supposed to. And they told me that every a7 they have is for a pre-order, so I will need to wait until next week.

    1. Generally, yes – I just tried to order the lens alone and received message:
” We’re sorry. This item can’t be shipped to your selected destination…”

  3. Just got my a7 with kit lens today. Also bought the FE35 2.8. This system is the real deal. I was using the e-m1. Focus is not as fast as my omd, but is good enough. I will be doing more testing with these 2 lens and my leica 35 2.8, 50 2, and 90mm 2.8 soon. Pretty exciting.

  4. photography newbie here: how come both these lenses are quite a bit cheaper than the 24mm f/1.8 e-mount zeiss lens? o_O
