A Sony Hong Kong poll asks readers if the like a non existing SEL18F18 lens. I bet this is an error from Sony. That said if it would be not I would certainly welcome a new 18mm f/1.8 E-mount lens 🙂

I’d buy it.
Also did they meant SEL70200G?
I think it supposed to be 10-18.
More likely SEL55F18. A typo error I supposed
Also, SEL70200 is not a z(eiss) lens
probably 20mm f2.8 or 1018
There were lots of mistakes made by Sony Hong Kong in their website/ads etc. I wonder if her marketing was outsourced and know nothing about her Camera products ….
e.g. they had posted the wrong image for FE 24-70 F4
and they stated that SEL1670Z & AESELP18200 are full frame lenses …..
Typo ::

I think you mean “They Like ” and not “The Like”
I found a t-shirt for you:

First the Sony page that showed E-mount IBIS, and now this…
an 18mm f1.8 would be very nice indeed. If Fuji has an 18 f2, I see no reason why Sony can’t design an 18 f1.8 lens. That said, I do think it is a mistake
Should be the 55/1.8Z
I wish this is for A-mount 3CMOS camera.
I wish SONY can develope a 3CMOS A-mount camera which can fully utilize the room of A-mount body like 3CCD video camera. I believe the IQ can be a big jump.
could be a 18mm F18 body cap lens lol
Personally I am waiting patiently either for Sony or Zeiss with their Touit line, to come out with either a high quality prime around 14/16mm or for some telephoto prime options. We all know how clunky a fast zoom would be on a small mirrorless body, just look at the soon-to-come 2.8 zooms announced by Fuji. To get around these size limitations, I would think the next best thing Sony could do is to offer their customers some fast primes for those looking for speed.
I know an 85mm has been rumored here and there before and that would be a logical addition to the lineup, but I would absolutely kill for a 135mm option.
The rubber focus ring on the touit lenses feels like it will degrade and melt after 3 to 5 years of use.
90mm Zeiss Touit F2 macro (135mm equivalent) would be a dream lens
a decent little prime like for example a 16/2.8. 🙂
Nah, their already working on an a7000, an a5, and an a7mII. No time for that lens crap. Overrated anyway.
Rumor or error or what not, Why would sony just create and release all these lens we want all at once. It seems it would be advantageous for Sony to delay technology they already have or are capable of producing so they have a future laid out for them.
Camera manufacture illuminate at work here..,
sureley a mistake.
and f/1.8 would be neither necessary (for most purposes) nor affordable.
Just updating the 16/2.8 would be a HUGE step ahead -but I guess updating it so soon after release would be too much of admitting a mistake for a Japanese company.
Which of their lenses exactly does Sony image we’ll put in front of these 24 Mpix bodies? A collapsible kit lens that’s vignetting by like 10 EV? or a $1000 Zeiss zoom that’s decentered half of the time?
The a6000 is a nice little iteration, well priced, with room for an a7000. But I sure wish they’d allocated the R&D resources to lens design instead.
“Well, Sony’s really done it this time — your still-crisp NEX-6 may now be marked for an early retirement. ”
– Engadget
Hahaha! Suffer all you Nex-6 Early Adopters…
You should have waited 10 Months for the A6000 or 20 months for the A60000…
“There’s a brand-new 24.3-megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor paired with a BIONZ X processor at the core, enabling what Sony’s calling the “world’s fastest autofocus.” We’re talking lag of just 0.06 second, thanks to the 179 phase-detect and 25 contrast-detect AF points. You also get 11 fps continuous shooting with tracking AF. Those focusing improvements are most notable in our book, but the price drop is surely worth a mention, too. The A6000 will ship for $800 with a 16-50mm power-zoom kit lens, compared to the $1,000 Sony was commanding for the NEX-6 back in 2012.”
There was a fag telling me that Sony needs to whore out their Sensors in order to make their camera cheaper!!!! That’s totally BS in my books.
Sony finally did something smart! LOL!
A fag?
“A fag?”
Sorry, I was typing fast, what I meant to say was “Some D!ckhead”…
Some people would defend Sony like Apple Fanbois. Ohhh its so Shiny! It just works!
Apple invented the curved corners! I love my Mac!
Sad to say, their head is so far up their arse they wouldn’t know if they were fed sh!t by Sony.
Sony’s websites are becoming ridiculous with misinformation.
Maybe on purpose 🙂
They probably mean the 50 1.8
