  1. What’s the point of those half-‘cases’? They don’t make the tiny E-Mount bodies bigger, providing a better grip, and they’re not really cases.

    1. Actually, they do improve the grip substantially by adding height to the base of the unit, allowing for all your fingers to fit on the grip, instead of having your pinky slip under the base. They do so without adding any significant bulk to the camera and I can say without a doubt that my A7 and A7s with the Gariz case feel much more comfortable than without.

But if you want to be a stickler about them not being cases, that’s fine.

Personally, I’m on the fence about this particular design. They had to cut the height of the grip leather to account for the indentation. The A7II has a nice rugged feel on its own so it might just get a battery grip instead of this case.

  2. Almost the same price as a battery grip, but I guess what they are really saying is tat A7II users probably have big beards, drive fixie bikes and drink very local beers.

    1. I use Barton braided straps. While a bit expensive, they’ve been going strong after 2-3 years of use.

    2. Black rapid straps are very cool and comfortable, like RS sport or wrist straps. I dont know how long they will last but it s nylon and very solid made… time will tell

    3. Same as Vivek, original strap. But speaking of neck straps, if you want choice, just get a guitar one and modify it.

  3. I have never understood the rationale of the half case. They always look like half of it is missing. Then there’s the fact that it’s the top half of the camera that is the most vulnerable and so most in need of protection.

  4. so now, when the market is full of useless things only misses the FE 24-105 f4, right ?

sony give me FE 24-105 f4 now! right now! in this very moment!

    NOW !
