The NEW Sony (R) A1 (R): Not only can you shoot an overcooked steak at 15 FPS, you can drown out the lack of flavor as well. I wonder if Kraft gets nine tenths of a penny every time the name is used.
Joking aside, I’m taking the A77-A99-A1 route. Selling my A77 to help finance my A99 and so on. Who’s coming with me?

That is the stupidest thing I’ve heard here in a while…..
Would you prefer a single SD slot? Are you still stuck in 1994 with Compact Flash? doesn’t matter that a UHD1 card can handle everything the camera can throw at it. Yeah, let’s make the camera even bigger to support CF so you can feel like a real pro. Oh, Brother.
QXD? Well, it can’t be pro without that can it? Talk to all the pros out there who have external converters hanging off their D3x’s and all the other so they can convert old CF to QXD, regardless of the fact that AT THIS TIME there is only a small increase in speed with QXD over a UH1 SD at 95 Mb/s. Oh yes…. I forget… you need to FEEL and LOOK like a pro (even behind a closed door on the camera covering the memory device).
You must also never want to use a DSLR to shoot video becuase “Pro” video stuff has BNC connectors and you can lay it on your shoulder and it costs a lot more than a DSLR.
What’s next…. skip the a99 becuase a pro camera cannot possibly have a EVF?

Pro does not mean CF or SD card or bring the latest body by Nikon, Canon or Sony. Pro means knowing how to take the picture at the right time. Pro takes care of the lens quality, appropriate to their work area. There are pros that use only fast 50mm and 135mm taking great pictures. The race to the last flagship model is one thing for amateurs not for those who make photography their work. Spend your time looking the reality around you taking pics not browsing catalogs on a chair.

I am a professional not-photographer. I do well enough to speculate about selling my $1400 toy for a $2800 toy. Once I make my second million, I may go into the business of senior photos or weddings, but until then I need to focus on that first million. The trolls here aren’t going to change my mind.
Tempted by the A99 as my entry into DSLR land if it is competitively priced against Canon’s 5D mkIII? Was going to go A77 but low light reviews scared me off, especially for shooting thai boxing events in low lit settings. Hopefully A99 will address my concerns.
RX1 looks very interesting too – but way out of my grasp as it’s not viable as an only camera.

You were the one who directed me a year ago when I was interested in the 77 to wait because a FF was in the works. That was because I already had the 850. You suggested the 5n for a second camera that could take video. It was great advice for me. Now I am sitting on pins and needles now ready to order my newest camera. Thanks again!

Hey does anyone know what we should do as soon as the a99 is announced to sign up for one if we want to be among the first in line? I want to support sonyalpharumors and I want to make sure I get a fighting chance to land this camera in October. Ps if I live in the states but want a 50p camera does anyone know my options? a clear prototype of the Sony medium format camera A1 would be nice to see… but ill settle for the a99 announcement and release date! a99 is a must buy for me and my lens! IMO… cant wait til 11pm (Central time) on 9/11/2012!
