  1. Great price on NEX-6. I am looking to upgrade to E-mount from A55; would love to hear opinions on whether an extra $200 is worth it to get the A6000. I have never noticed a need for more MPs. I wonder if the low-light focusing plus more focus points will be so much better

    1. That depends on your reasons for upgrading. You have much better Af lens options with the A55 and even though it is outdated it can still take pictures that are just as good as any camera today with the right lens and some skill. I loved my nex-6 and sold my A57 after getting the nex-6 and now I own a A7 and a nex-3n. I think a better upgrade would be a a57 unless size is a issue and you are comfortable with using e-mount lenses. I plan to get either a A6000 or a fuji x-t1 to go along with my A7.

      1. I am definitely into going smaller. The idea of a camera that fits into a large pocket is great. I would love small camera, extra battery, 1 prime lens as my travel pack.
I have even sold almost all my A-mount lenses and am down to 1 zoom and a 35 and 85 prime. The EVF of the A55 is pretty terrible and I have used the NEX-6 at the store and it was a huge improvement.
        Thanks for the thoughts.

  2. I’d imagine the closer we get to the A6000’s release, the less this will cost. Already heard that the A6000 will be $100 less at release than expected, making it $100 more than the NEX 6 now.

    1. Amazon has matched the pricing. Which means with the kit lens you save $50 over body-only – amazing! You can sell the kit lens for $130-ish on eBay and basically get the body for $470… sooo tempting to upgrade from my F3…

  3. For what it’s worth – the Zeiss FE 24-70 is a nice little lens. They are in stock right now as this post says. Get one 🙂 Don’t wait for DxO to do their fakey analysis that will say it’s a great performer with some faults. It’s a zoom, so don’t expect miracles – but it’s a solid performer for the system.
