This very first images of the new Sony NEX-5R and NEX-6 cameras have been very likely found by chinese.vr-zone.com through a public Chinese agency that registered the new WiFi capable cameras. Click on the pictures to see the full size version!

Sony may announce the new cameras and lenses on August 28th. This is what we will likely see soon in stores:
NEX-5R: Looks almost exactly like the NEX-5n and has the flip screen from the NEX-F3. It has a completely newly designed 16 Megapixel APS-C sensor with Phase Detection AF pixels. It has WiFi connectivity and APP support. You can surf on Internet with it. Price around $700 with kit lens.
NEX-6: It’s a mini [shoplink ”]NEX-7[/shoplink] with integrated viewfinder. Compared to the NEX’7 it has an EVF with less resolution and same newly designed 16 Megapixel APS-C sensor. It has WiFi connectivity and APP support. Price between the NEX-5R and NEX-7 (NEX-7 is currently priced at $1200 at Amazon so my guess is around $950 and $1000).
Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6: It is a pancake zoom with OSS and power zoom.
Sony 11-18 f/4.0: Normal (non pancake) zoom.
Sony 35mm f/1.8: Fast non expensive prime lens as big as the Sigma 30mm lens.

Is the 16-50mm lens in the leaked photos the finalized design? ‘Cause it sure don’t look like no pancake.
It’s – as is written – the 55 mm-210 mm. Clearly not a pancacke 😉

A NEX 5 with flash , EVF and hotshoe…. Oh. If there’s 1 customizable dial like nex7’s , then it will be great

cool, the nex-5r has one dial that looks just like the nex-7!
meanwhile, the nex-6 looks more like the nex-f3. this lineup has alternating layers.
NEX-6 design is excellent. That’s how E-PL5 should look like.
I wonder if that flash can be put into bounce position…
they are really ugly and if all of these photos are real , I am deeply depressed.
Sony needs some nice mid range prime like the Oly 45mmf1.8, the 50OSS is huge and not as sharp as the Oly, the 35mmf1.8 might be an interesting offering but it must be as sharp as the Pana Leica 25f1.4.
Until Sony can produce some at least decent lens(I dont consider the fake Zeiss as decent), I guess I must keep both my Olympus EM5 kit and Sony NEX7 kit, along with my Nikon FF.
The pancake zoom is not my cup of tea, I want a constant F4 12-35mm kind of zoom for my NEX7.
Does the NEX6 has an standart hot shoe? It looks like a standart one. Or is it an pre production type? Really interesting 🙂

Looks like they have mode dial but no thumbwheel… sigh.
So you have a quick way of changing from, for example, Av to Tv mode, but then a fiddly and cumbersome method of changing the apeture/shutter values and EV.
Who designs this nonsense?!
Why does it have a standard hot shoe and not the proprietory one from Sony?
A Nex with Nikon attach for Nikkor DX G lenses would be great. With the current offer of Sony lenses for the Nex cameras I wouldn’t buy into Sony.
It’s all about pumping out hardware in form of NEX bodies to make fast $$$ – what’s missing is a real camera system with good lenses.
They do well with the NEX and $$$$. Kudos to them. Dump the Nikon lenses and get a NEX. Before you know it the system will develop faster than Nikon going from a toy cam format to a larger/useful one. :-))
