Thyoch posted this teaser which suggest the release of three new lenses. One of them should be a new APS-C AF prime lens for the Fujifilm X-mount:

Don’t know yet what the other two lenses could be…

Nikon Canon and Fujifilm are about to unleash three new High End APS-C cameras!

  • Fujifilm X-T6 is coming on September 3
  • Nikon “mini Z9” is coming in autumn with 45MP stacked sensor
  • Canon R10II with new stacked sensor is also coming soon

Will Sony respond?

Reliable leaker How2Fly just wrote this:

Sigma is set to release a 65mm ultra-fast aperture autofocus lens in September. Hint: faster than F1.2

So it must be a 65mm E/L lens with an aperture of at least f/1.0. Just imagine that! I really love the idea of a bokeh monster like that. What do you think?

The good thing about not getting this lens until September is that we now have some time to save up 🙂

The S9II I listed as on my Amazon “wishlist” store

The big chinese socials are betting on an impressive 25th anniversary product launch year from Panasonic:

LUMIX S9 II – A lightweight and portable full-frame camera. It’s expected to finally feature the long-awaited hot shoe, and the build quality is expected to be significantly improved, finally shedding the “plastic feel” misconception.

LUMIX S5 III– A flagship contender for both photography and videography. Rumors suggest it will feature a new generation of AI autofocus system, making autofocus as stable as a veteran and as responsive as a cat.

LUMIX S1H II – A professional video beast. It’s rumored to support 6K/8K internal recording and can directly handle ProRes RAW format, maximizing the quality of footage.

Besides this, Panasonic hasn’t forgotten its heritage and practicality: the classic pocket-sized camera LX100 III is expected to make a comeback, while in the M4/3 lineup, the successor to the GX9 and the video powerhouse GH8 are also on the way. In short, it seems that the 25-year-old Panasonic is preparing a feast for all photography enthusiasts.

Here are a couple of takeaways from this interview:

  • Panasonic is increasing it’s market share
  • Panasonic is planning the release of ” numerous exciting products and new workflow proposals throughout the year”
  • No timeline for the S1HII launch….just a general acknowledgment there is a request for this kind of camera
  • Panasonic is “sincerely listening to customers’ feedback about the S9, particularly the one asking for a S9II with integrated EVF

In these videos I dig into the few details we learn about these three cameras:

  • The Sony is a new High End model…possibly the FX3II ?
  • The Panasonci High End camera might be a new S1HII
  • The Panasonic low end model might be a ZS99II or some other entry level compact fixed lens camera

We now have new rumors about the new DJI and INsta360 cameras!

Insta360:

The CEO has officially teased a new camera prototype that seems to have those key specs:

  • 20MP Four Thirds sensor
  • f/1.8 (fixed?) lens
  • fully articulating LCD screen
  • no EVF
  • white/beige body

DJI:

New rumors surfaced in China about DJI allegedly launching this camera:

  • New large sensor camera
  • made for cinema
  • said to be more affordable than the competition

I hope soon we will get more details about both of these cameras!

Matt Irwin expects the following NIkon announcement in 2026:

Camera Bodies

  • Nikon Z9II (Flagship): Development announcement expected between March and September 2026. Features likely include “XP8” processing and RED technology integration.
  • Nikon Z500 / Z90: A high-end APS-C flagship with a stacked 26MP sensor aimed at the D500-legacy wildlife/sports market.
  • Nikon ZRC / Z30R: A professional-grade APS-C cinema camera, effectively an APS-C version of the current full-frame Nikon ZR.
  • Advanced Cine Body: A dedicated cinema camera positioned between the Red Komodo and the Nikon ZR.

Lenses

  • Z Cinema Lenses: A set of 3 to 6 autofocus-capable cinema lenses. The first 2 or 3 are expected by Q2 2026.
  • 70-200mm f/2.8 S Version 2: A redesigned professional workhorse featuring new AF protocols to unlock “hidden” focusing prowess.
  • 100-300mm (or 120-300mm): A high-end “tentpole” lens for sports and wildlife, potentially featuring a built-in teleconverter or Phase Fresnel (PF) technology.
  • Ultra-Wide Prime: A 14mm or 16mm f/1.8 S-line prime designed for astro, interiors, and gimbal work.
  • Exotic Primes: Possible development of ultra-fast glass, such as a 50mm f/1.0 with autofocus.

Firmware & Updates

  • Nikon ZR Major Updates: Version 1.5 expected mid-year and Version 2.0 by late 2026, likely addressing Log video concerns and adding anamorphic desqueeze.
  • Feature Trickle-down: New UI features (like red histogram lines and timecode improvements) moving across the Expeed 7 camera range.

What you see here on top is the first image shot on a new and yet to be announced Insta360 camera. It has been posted by the CEO of Insta360. He said that he is testing the new camera’s focal length.

Currently, no further details about the new device have been disclosed. Based on existing leaks, the new Insta360 digital camera might feature:

  • A lens with a maximum aperture of F1.8
  • Capability to capture images at a resolution of 5280×3956
  • A white body coating
  • An independent button for switching between photo and video modes
  • A large image sensor size

The CEO of Insta360 just posted this image of what appears to be a completely new INSTA360 camera. His text going along the image was “向新的焦段出发” (Heading towards new focal lengths).

Key Identifiers & Specs (from the image and leaks):

  • Aperture: The screen clearly shows an f/1.8 aperture.

  • Form Factor: It appears to be a fixed-lens compact camera or a compact mirrorless system designed to compete with the Fujifilm X100 series or the Sony ZV-1/Vlog series.

  • UI/Interface: The screen layout (showing the [9999+] shot counter and A mode) is an evolution of the Insta360 Ace Pro interface, including a large flip-up touchscreen.

  • Body Design: The camera has a distinct tan/beige rugged casing in the photo (which may be a prototype skin or a “Desert Edition”). It features physical control wheels for aperture and exposure compensation, a first for the brand.

If this is going to be a mirroless camera with APS-C sensor…will it be fixed lens or have a mount? And is this going to be L-mount or a new mount camera?
