DRphotorumor (Thanks) just told us the Samsugn NX3000 will be announced next week sometimes between may 5 and May 8!
No specs are given yet but DRphotorumro was always right with his “rumors” so we can be sure it’s coming!

I hope this time Samsung can give us a pleasant surprise with excellent finish, external EVF option and good pricing. Samsung lenses are among the very best, but cameras still need a little push forward.
Happy to be proven wrong, but I’m 100% sure it will be another unexciting camera. My forecast: same body as NX2000, added phase detection af (as in NX300 and NX30), perhaps added 1080/60 video. I don’t see any other update to this model….
Samsung does not consider EVF to be useful with this kind of body shape. This says much about their understanding of photography…
Maybe you are a little radical here, don´t you think?. If you have a good quality articulated screen (I prefer the tiltable type), you have not problem for most shooting situations. Also optional viewfinders should be decently priced. No point in buying an optional viewfinder for $450-$500, like the one for Sony´s RX1. Yes, I agree with you about the convenience of an external optional viewfinder in small cameras, but there are more interchangeable lens cameras out there without a decent EVF. If they also lack articulated screen, for me is a deal breaker.
you guys are soo funny. No this camera will not have a EVF as it is a camera not target consumer doesnt need it and it would just put the price of the camera up. ever wondered why samsung entry level CSCs can be sold for £299. Their APSC sized sensor matched with their good quality kit lens offers young families, smart phone users and first time buyers great quality images without extra costs for metal and EVFs.
NX3000 will improve on NX2000 offering. 180^ Articulated AMOLED screen, NX300 sensor (no argument there), Faster hybrid AF, better ISO performance, NFC, better Improved WIFI options and Tizan
I agree i would like an EVF in one of the NX300 but please stop complaining they arent putting one in their entry level and expecting surprises from their entry level CSC it isnt going to happen
Right. It’s the nx300 that should have it, since every other mirrorless system (but canon) has this kind of camera with evf (fuji, sony, m4/3, nikon1).
Looking at the Samsung pyramid it looks like Samsung are finally looking to complete their line up and the NX3000 and NX1 will complete it so everybody will be waiting till 2015 at least for a NX300VF.
most people would be happy with a mid/ high quality detachable EVF option
I have my X-E1 and looking to get a NX1 when its released, it would be nice to get both levels the same
Fuji is rangefinder style. Nx1 will more than likely be a huge dslr like camera. I see no point in having a camera with few native lenses, and is quite expensive, if it does nit have a big advantage in weight and size.
I think the main reason why nx system is not selling well (compared to any other mirrorless system) is the weird bodies lineup.
They think that smartphone ppl will buy their cameras, but that’s not the case. And ppl looking for this ‘level’ of cameras want an evf AND (most of them) want a much smaller body than dslr.
I think the poster that you are replying to is suffering from selective brand amnesia. somehow, you have to question this guy’s motive. I’ve read some of the posts here, but I haven’t seen any post coming this guy anything but disdain for one particular brand.
If they don’t offer an external EVF option for the mid-range NX300, there’s no way they will offer one for the entry-level NX3000. It’s not aimed at people who are used to shooting with a viewfinder.
It was only a wish list ;-). At least, Samsung cameras have excellent rear screens. I´d never shoot with something like Panasonic GM1, with no EVF nor articulated screen.
It’s just a housing/showcase for some of their parts. It doesn’t have to work well, unlike the GM1 which has a better than average construction and image quality with an average rear display in a very small package.
