The polish website Optyczne (Click here) just published the pictures of five new Fuji X lenses. These are the specs:
Fujinon Super EBC XF 10–24 mm f/4 R LM OIS
Fujinon Super EBC XF 23 mm f/1.4 R
Fujinon Super EBC XF 27 mm f/2.8 R
Fujinon Super EBC XF 55–200 mm f/3.5–4.8 R LM OIS
Fujinon Super EBC XF 56 mm f/1.4 R

Really some nice lenses they are offering here! There is no info about price and availability yet. You heard something about that?

  1. Damn, if Fuji can get these out in the next 6 months or so, makes a pretty compelling case for the X-mount vs. Nex and M43. That’s an impressive lineup. The only thing Fuji will lack is speed at the long end, otherwise everything up to a FF equal of about 85mm is covered. Wow.

  2. Everyone sandblasted Sony/Zeiss for making the 24mm Sonnar too big. Look at Fuji, same size only a third of a stop faster (if it would even perform similarly)

    1. I think the biggest mistake Sony made is that they made their camera bodies so tiny that almost any lens will look huge on them. The Zeiss 24mm is not a huge lens, but when it’s mounted in a NEX-5n it looks enormous.

Besides, Fuji gets a pass because they are also releasing a 27mm pancake. Sony should have released a similar lens for everday use before making the 16mm pancake. My plan is to simply use the 27mm as my everyday walk around lens, then switch to the 35mm/1.4 when I need more DOF control.

  3. Impressive! The Fuji lens roadmap is very well thought though. Now also NEX are catching up with the help of Zeiss. The EX1 and NEX6/7 are very much more versatile options for street photo compared to the Sony RX1. I could also add the Oly EM5 with its more conservative DSLR look.
You get a lot of camera and lenses compared to an RX1 + EVF. The only advantage RX1 has is sensor size which is of course substantial.

Missing in the roadmap: a 120mm/2.8 OIS

    1. I really think that the RX-1 is in a class of its own. Qualitywise and from the pricepoint. That being said, the RX-1 is the only camera on photokina I am really interested in. It’s such a small package with an enormous qualityfactor. The sample images already look great and I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

Everything else is just APS-C in relatively big bodies.

  4. Sony, are you there?

Fuji barely entered the Mirrorless market but they already have a lot more decent and useful lenses than you! And apparently, much more to come! This really gives Sony no excuses. It makes it feel like it’s a complete lack of commitment with the consumers. With no lenses, I can’t stay with my NEX camera. If some blind fanboy say you can use other mounts lenses I will laugh, so does Fuji, so does m4/3 and they are not settling down for that.

  5. When you look at the paucity of the Nex offer after three years and compare with the flourishing quality offer for the x-mount that is just one year hold, it is little to say that this makes a strong case for Fuji against Sony…

  6. If these get out in the market in the next year or so fuji gets more and more tempting. I had just about decided on m43 but now I’m not so sure…
I guess I have to go to a shop and let ergonomics decide.

  7. Panasonic and Olympus should take note that it is possible to release a zoom that starts at 3.5 but doesn’t end at 5.6 … (or worse. Looking at you, Oly)

  8. really like they do the exact equivalent focal length, i.e., none of the other photo manufacture ever do 56mm for APSC, and let alone F1.4.

the 23mm and 56mm is all i need, however, Fuji lens ain’t affordable….

  9. What a great set of primes and zooms. Kudos for Fuji. They really know what they are doing. They have been steadily improving AF speed and solving firmware issues (the achilles heel of the system), and, by listening to its user base, are close to having a mature system – when that happens, watch out! Hopefully they will also work on having a decent level of support by third party software (i.e. lightroom!).

That is all exciting and good stuff.

  10. I’ve handled Fuji’s X-E1 today at Photokina. I must admit: feels like what a Pen camera always should have been, the AF in the level of Sony’s RX100 compact, so a generation behind PanOly, but finally usable for most situations. On the other hand I’ve handled the world’s slowest AF mirrorless of the world: Canon’s EOS M is a joke regarding AF speed. Even far slower than my old E-P1 with 20mm 1.7

Kudos Fuji: finally there’s a compact rangefinder style mirrorless with EVF, high build quality AND great Jpeg engine in one body.

  11. I was looking forward to the 23mm, but it’s huge… All I want is a nice APS-C system with a compact 35mm equivalent. So far that rules out everything except the Canon EOS M. But it’s so ugly!

  12. The 23 and 56 displayed here are likely still design mockups. It appears the they are the SAME unit with different label 23/56 on the base. I would not be surprised if the final versions will be different in fact. I wouldn’t get too excited one way or another yet.
