the “Old” Fuji lens roadmap.
Fujirumors reports that tomorrow Fuji will announce a new updated lens roadmap. And the previously listed 56mm f/1.4 will become a bit faster with a f/1.2 aperture and a final release in January 2014. That sounds like a hell of a portrait lens!
One more Fuji news: The new X100s will ship after tomorrow at Amazon US (Click here to grab it).
Reminder: Fuji announcement at 5am London time while the Ricoh announcement follows at 6am London time!
The lens will nwo be a bit faster….but here is the image of the f/1.4 prototype:

I like the idea of wide-aperture lens in this range… but I don’t know if I could consider going back to a non-stabilized medium tele after seeing how much difference stabilization makes on my Olympus E-M 5.
Also, if Fuji wants to make X the go-to mirrorless system for low-light shooting, they’re going to need at least one more wide-aperture tele… something in the range of a 90mm f/1.8 or so (to compete with the indispensible 75/1.8 Olympus and the high-speed 135mm lenses available for 36x24mm DSLRs.) I don’t see anything like that on the roadmap yet… just slow zzzzzzzooms on the long end…
Lens equivalent to 75mm f/1.8 on Fuji system would be 100mm f/2.4.
Nothing personal to the rumor sites but the record for lens rumors on Fuji is pretty poor.
Remember the 15mm tilt shift lens that was going to show up in May? Yeah… it was really just the 55-200 that we already knew about.
This rumor here stinks. The delay might be right, and it would be NICE if it was ƒ/1.2 now, but, I am more likely to only believe the delay part.
Well, my skepticism was pleasantly misplaced.
i want to know when they’re going to release the pancake 27mm.
Thx Fuji for postponing my absolute Number 1 Lens for which i have been waiting for so long to next year -Bravo Bravo !
This camera is made to take photos of people ! So dissapointed.
I have been waiting on the 56mm and the X-Pro2. I think it will be my mirrorless kit of the future.
