Not only Samsung (June 20) and Sony (June 27) will announce new mirrorless cameras. Also Fuji has planed a big showdown for June 25! FR reports:
FIRMWARE: Fujifilm Philippines announced at their website that there will be a new firmware update for the X-E1 and X-PRO1 on the 25 of June. Let’s see what will be improved (or if it just adds support for the 27mm, which is rumored to be launched soon.)
NEW BODY: The new Asian source (who for first told me that Fuji is about to announce 2 new bodies ) just told me that the first mirrorless interchangeable-lens body could be announced on June 25. I remember you that Fuji is about to launch a new X-Trans body and a new non X-Trans body. P.S.: Trusted sources told me that the upcoming very cheap non X-Trans X-body will be offered in many colours.
NEW LENS: Also 2 new lenses, on should be a 16-50/55 zoom lens and the 27mm f/2.8 could be finally released too! Source: FR post.
Panasonic, Olympus,Canon and Nikon seem to have no announcements in June. Their big show is coming in August-September!

A good 16-50 lens is just what I want(14-40 would be much better nothwithstanding). IMHO, 28 mm is too long for the wide end and probably Fuji can make it bright, small and with good optical performance.
Fuji is sure coming through for me. I don’t have a budget for several quality cameras and I took a chance on Fuji and the X-e1 when there was no assurance that they would come up with enough quality lenses to make that a wise choice. Tomorrow I go get my new 55-200mm lens and I have big plans for that lens and for a low end zoom like a 12-24mm with a wide aperture and stabilization. Fuji is not a religion, on cameras I am definitely an agnostic, but this camera sure takes great pictures and I am pleased that I went with them so far.
I find it difficult to believe Fuji will have an 18-55mm as well as a 16-50mm – Especially given that there was no sign of such a thing on their roadmap, even once they updated it.
Shouldn’t you be over at some Canon or Samsung thread with your shill bashing, homie?
As for Fuji, be prepared to be underwhelmed–if anything at all materializes even close to the typical FR hysteria. Just not convinced any “new” low-end Fuji will be an ILC unless they’re rolling out an entirely new cheapie body/lens family(?!). But then what explains the goofy Pentax Q7 “Pokemon” cameras in 120 color combos?
Sony 3N + 16-50mm lens sells for $400 after discount.
I bet Fuji is creating similar entry level cheapo camera and lens (f4-f5.6) which as reports earlier said should sell at $500 when launched.
The other lens will obviously be 27mm f2.8.
23mm f1.4 will be in fall and 55mm f1.2 in winter.
I also think Fuji is going to launch a lens like Sony´s collapsible 16-50, but probably better because Fuji´s existing 16-55 lens is already way better and brighter than competition and Sony´s lens didn´t get very good reviews.
16-50?….no one saw this coming.
Unless it’s distinctly different from the excellent 18-55f2.8-f4 then it’s pointless really and that kind of thing doesn’t seem consistant with fuji’s way if doing things.
The above poster may be correct about a cheaper alternative zoom which may be a good bundle with an entry level body to compete with a sony nex3 or an Olympus epm2. I hope it is collapsible in design.
