He also tested the Leica 90mm Summicron on the new X-E1 (Click here to see these shots): “The camera works great with focus peeking at both 3x and 10x magnification. The EVF is bright and sharp!”

Sonr RX1 also got a star award among almost every other camera in photokina too. Not much special there.
Image samples from the XE1? Is not that the identical sensor as the XP1? If so, it’s not like we haven’t already seen the XE1 samples a long time ago then. Still no feedback system with manual focus lenses.
“Still no feedback system with manual focus lenses.”
Fly By Wire is the norm with CSC’s these days but manual focus lenses can be used via a suitable adapter and work just fine.
Most old film cameras had a feedback system. Microprisms and split prisms to let you know you had focus. This modern, high-tech machine has nothing but your vision be it your eyes are good or bad. With its 3x/10x zoom, it makes it just barely more advanced and more cumbersome than a 30-year old camera that had nothing for focus aid.
that’s pretty bad af
i guess now i don’t have to keep thinking about xe1
Amazon (us) is saying that expected delivery for the x-e1 body is between October 4-25. Is this accurate? All other listings mention November as the earliest delivery date.

Wait a minute. Does X-E1 feature “Focus Peaking” ? Does it look the same as NEX’s focus peaking?

– No, unfortunately it does not. The German guy has confused “peeking”, as in focus point magnification, and “peaking”, as in outlining of areas of high contrast.
