MFT folks can enjoy the fact that Olympus and Panasonic both embraced the Fuji “kaizen” philosophy. This means the companies keep improving existent camera rather than focusing on replacing them with new models (read Sony).
The E-M1 and E-M5II got a huge list of new features. Check out at GetOlympus (Click here to read all details).
the GX8 and G7 got the Post Focus feature (av.jpn.support.panasonic).
Well done! Now Sony let’s see if you will learn from it…. 😉

Nice to see that other manufacturers are now also following the Kaizen principle. Let’s hope more of them will follow. For me it was one of the reasons to buy into Fuji.
Samsung has also been very active in releasing updates for nx1, before suddenly stopping in august.
That’s because they released the camera before it was finished.
Ok so you can think this for any company releasing fw updates?
Instead, they receive input from reviewers and customers and added features.
FujiFilm is responding to many customers. Panasonic and Olympus are responding to “important” customers. Nikon and Canon fix things after a while. Sony responds to bad press.
Generally speaking, Samsung (and LG) often release products before they’re finished.
Would be nice if the Olympus updater v1.2 had been reconfigured to work with El Capitan…at the moment it is not, thus rendering any newly released firmware updates useless … Olympus should get their act together!!!
