Press Release:
This is a brief update about RoboSHOOT© flash Triggers for Fuji
What sync speed can you expect with the x100? We’ve frequently gotten this question and the answer is complex enough that it warrants this notice.
We’ve tested on both X100s and X100T and found synch speeds work all the way to 1/4000s. So, yes, RoboSHOOT© supports all shutter speeds on these cameras.
But, there are things to be aware of. Firstly, at higher flash power the flash duration can be longer than 1/1000s. So, you will frequently see brightness fall off starting at 1/1000s, especially if the aperture is stopped down (because more power is requested). Secondly, the longer the flash duration, the more sensitive it is to any delay (there is about 500 microseconds of delay from the radio). Lastly, the camera only requests so much power, so again, stopping down reaches a limit. Thus, these three physical limitations come into play to affect the exposure, and they compound when multiple limitations occur. So, practically, what does this mean?
RoboSHOOT© does supports TTL on the X100 series throughout the shutter speed range: no HSS required. However, at very high speeds (about 1/1000s and above) you may want to keep the aperture wide-open, and regardless, you may see under exposure at extreme speeds. Of course, some of this can be compensated for with flash exposure compensation. So, enjoy experimenting with this fun option!

Very good news!
– This seems to be the first, working solution, but isn’t it a bit overpriced? (Even more expensive than PocketWizard!)
– Support for Canon Speedlights?
– Support for Neewer=Meike MK320?
– When will it be available / Is it already available now?
Hi Bob,
Thanks. We are pleased with the result.
In reverse order:
* The devices are available for pre-order now for shipments starting mid December.
* No support for Canon speedlights are planned presently. If it is developed it will be a different model.
* MK320 (Fuji) has not been tested, but, is expected to work. We will not be testing many third party flashes directly, instead we will have a section on user reported compatibility. This will be added sometime early next year.
* Pre-order kit prices start at under $200 for two flashes, both true TTL (one off-camera, one on-camera). The more advanced model is under $300 and provides much more than just flash trigger. We have made great efforts to keep costs down, and are hoping the X community will understand and consider the low volumes and high development cost make these prices are quite reasonable.
Best regards,
John
Fuji needs to make 3 leaf shutter lenses for their ILC’s.
Okay this article all saying ETTL and able to sync up to 1/4000 with X100 series. It is nothing new about X100 series able to sync up to 1/4000 because all those X100 series have Leaf Shutters. What we need: HSS to work on X-T1, X-T10, X-E1/X-E2, X Pro 1, X-M1, X-A1/X-A2 because those cameras do not have a off camera system that can do HSS but Mechanic Shutter should able to fire High Speed Sync by triggers with the correct hotshoe pins from Fuji bodies. Let me know if you can get the trigger to fire HSS for X-T1/X-E2/X-T10.
Understood, what’s new about this is supporting this with a flash trigger is non-trivial. It is pushing the technical limits.
If you sign up for our newsletter we will be able to keep you informed about HSS. HSS support is high priority for us, but, dependent on Fuji implementing it on those cameras. Newsletter registration is here if you are interested: http://www.sereneautomation.com/#xl_xr_page_contact
