My rumor box got a message again, and I’m glad to share it here with all of you.
According to the same source, who leaked the October 21 announcement date for the XF35mmF2, also the 1.4x teleconverter will be launched the very same day. Both will hit the market mid-November.
To the source: Thanks again for sharing the rumor… and for giving yourself a nick-name 🙂
Ok, sure, take the grain of salt. But as of now, for me X-Day is October 21… so stay tuned on FujiRumors. You’ll get the usual live-blogging session.

P.S.: As shared already back in Febraury 2015, the 1.4x teleconverter will work with the following lenses: XF50-140mm, XF120mmF2.8 R Macro, XF100-400mm. And as said on October 2, unless Fujifilm was able to defy the laws of physics, you’ll lose a stop of light using the 1.4x teleconverter on those lenses.

I don’t get it…why not the 55-200?
Because that lens was built before they had the TC planned and so they didn’t leave room for it behind the rear element. Simple as that.
The protruding element on the converter physically does not fit on most lenses.
IMO, much better would have been a 2X tele-converter for the 55-200mm, thereby instantly creating a 110-400mm lens with OIS.
You already lose 1 stop of light with a 1.4x converter so a 2x will reduce it by 2 stops. Effectively making it an F/7-9.3 and most cameras cannot autofocus over F/8.
The physical element of the converter will also clash with the lens design of the 55-200. The 50-140mm is designed to work as the rear element is faced inwards.
Aperture size limitations on focusing don’t apply to mirrorless.
Thanks for sharing your vast, although flawed, knowledge with me; focus peaking works even when a manual lens is set to f/22.
100-400, 100-400, 100-400, 100-400……
Is the 35mm f/2 WR?
