  1. “With Leica, regardless of how meagre the camera features are, I can see the world in a way no one else does. It empowers me and lets everyone know that I value the price of things more than the value in them.”

    – Any photographer bought by Leica.

  2. Leica is spending a lot of money (the money they saved making this camera so disappointing), trying now to convince everybody that the X Vario is an amazing camera. Well, maybe a lot of people is willing to believe so many nonsense and ridiculous statements and spending their money in a clearly sub par digital camera.

Let´s see i.e. amateur photographer review:

-“offers the equivalent range of a 28-70mm lens in 35mm format. This focal length is one of the most popular zoom ranges and is suitable for a variety of images, from landscapes and portraits to documentary shots”
-Not true: the standard zoom lens for APSC is 18-55 and its range is better, over 80 mm equivalent at the tele end.

-“Unlike the Leica M, the X Vario’s lens has the ability to autofocus. There is an AF position marked on the lens barrel, and when the lens is moved from this position it switches to manual focus.”
-Bravo! A great improvement (for 1950)

-“The aperture, being a rather average f/3.5-6.4, may also be a little small…”
-Rather average? for 46mm? At 55 mm it would be over f/7.0!

-“for many it could be the closest they come to owning a Leica digital rangefinder.”
-Really? A camera without a viewfinder (nor tilting screen) is the closest to a M rangefinder?
