A7rII Preordered.
Me too
B&H Starts shipping July 28, Adorama August 20
Amazon was a little slow to start (about 8 past the hour) and says it’ll have product 30 August. B&H was right on the nose and says it’ll have product on 28 July. Sorry, Amazon.
Don’t forget Amazon tax and B&H no tax. B&H wins this round.
For you maybe, no Amazon tax for many people
I wanted to buy from Amazon as I can get a 5% statement credit but even with the credit, tax makes it more than using B&H.
Yeah, but you still have to claim that purchase on your taxes at the end of the year…cough cough.
The delivery dates they state mean absolutely nothing.
They will change the delivery dates, and those that promise earlier dates are not likely to have product any sooner than those that do not.
Amazon preorder says : Release date: Sunday, August 30, 2015
Better to preorder on all stores to see which oen gets them first 🙂
Farewell, wallet of mine. Helloooo, stabilization and internal 4k! Order placed.
I preordered.
If I win the $100 discount can I trade it for an earlier delivery?
Not possible to pre-order yet in Europe. Sony had no idea (I spoke to too people) when it would be available to pre-order. Perhaps admin could update the page to say that the product is available from Amazon.com to avoid any confusion for those people in Europe?
P.S.: I should get European links within 24 hours.
P.S.: BHphoto accepts preorders from Europe! Shows also full import tax costs!
Yes…but only you would profit if we do this. This rest of us would be hit by massive import tax and custom charges.
Like I said, you have to check if import tax is ok or not. Certainly not saying to buy it if it costs more than what you have to pay in your country!
Pre-order with B&H placed in the first minute, using SAR’s link. Done and DONE.
Thx!
My pleasure, señor.
Can you tell how many people actually ordered vs clicked on your links? Would be interesting to see some statistics later
Yes I can. I will see clickrate tomorrow.
Everyone seems to be going B&H, so I went Adorama using your link. Thanks again.
Do you have any indication of when Sony will have the A7RII available on their own site?
bhphoto charged credit card right away and said shipping on 7/28. amazon says shipping starts 8/30. anyone know release date?
CC is suppose to just be authorized. I asked yesterday. They said only paypal, international purchases would be charged immediately.
@topdog. It’s a good question, especially if you need to be out of town. To confirm – I also received those two dates.
DSC-RX10M2 1300 $ vs 1600 € – How can you explain this? Why is Europe price so much higher?
B&H charges your card maybe better said puts a hold on the full amount. I went Amazon since they don’t do that. Now I have to pay tax but as always B&H always seems to have one for sale so I can switch when it gets to the shipping days. Not worried
Okay I’m jealous or at least to some extent. Since I currently have a viable Sony cam with ZA glass I opted to start selling all but one lens to make room for a couple new native primes. Heck, I’ll be surprised to have the A7rII by early next year.
Usually within 24 hours.
Only German rpeorder link so far is that:

The prices seem quite expensive…..
Yes, seems like Sony increased the usual $/€ conversion rate for electronics from 1€ to 1.2€
Will buying from USA and paying UK import duties and tax be more expensive than buying from UK / Europe? I can’t find any UK pricing for RX100m4.
We tend to get a raw deal here; items are given a much higher price (even allowing for tax) and availability is often much later than other countries too.
I need it as soon as possible, so I’ll buy from whoever can supply the quickest, but I don’t want to pay extra if delivery times will be the same regardless of retailer.
Also, B&H says it can’t ship items with lithium batteries internationally. Would that affect the RX100?
Best bet is wait and get it from DigitalRev. Takes a week or so but I’ve never had a problem with them.
Yes, we get a brutally RAW deal, but there are options.
What is a round trip ticket from London to NY? With pricing typically the same number, 3195, just a $ or Sterling sign in front, the approx 65% exchange rate difference may pay for the trip. Then you are a tourist with nothing to declare. I know I will at times check the US$/CN$ pricing and the 20% gets it near or lower than gray market pricing, but officially imported by an authorized dealer and Canadian warranty.
We’re down to a hand full of camera shops now in the UK. Very little competition. Add in 20% VAT and import duties. It’s got bad.
I had considered a trip to B&H in NY when I was in my Pentax>Nikon FF phase but was warned by an American friend that there’s not enough money in the World once you step through the door. A person could leave that building completely bust. It’s dangerous.
Being British and therefore fairly broke, I tend to wait for Amazon open box deals a long time after launch where last time I picked up the A7r for under £1100 new (Sony list at the time was well north of £2000, like £2250 or something).
We’re also not known for our good teeth old boy.
I’ve found EU rates are better than UK rates, and VAT is already paid, so I go to Amazon.de to look for better deals.
Best bet, get a relative over here to buy it for you. Then they can just send it as a gift.
YES! I just ordered 6. (Joking.)
I’ll wait until September if I buy the Rx100-4. Trigger will be the A99II.
After that bad AF of the first series I wait for realworld review onthis for sure
Glad to see so many people are ordering the A7RII, I’m hoping to find a lightly used one in early 2016. Please handle them carefully. XD
Ok, just sewing up this spot from removing my kidney- ready to place my pre-order now.
“What are you going to buy?”
A7RII….
Next year….
I will not buy until it reaches a sane price in Europe. As it stands the FZ1000 is still such a good deal, I wonder if I should get one and another one as backup 😉
Andrea – any updates on the new CLM-FHD5 monitor that was announced alongside the A7Rii?
no.
Any idea when they will be available from Sony Webstore?
I requested to pay it at the price of august 2016 and they declined my offer 😀
Trying to hold in my gas. Damn chimi changas. I calculated the value of all my lenses and bodies in 2 systems and I can make it work and consolidate. But but ….. must … not .. buy ..
So when will the random rebate winners be selected?
As expected and confirmed by various UK stores, no pre-orders or pricing news for Europe/UK today.
Brian Smith just posted a hands-on Sony PR piece, nothing really new I see except the U.S. version is NTSC/PAL switchable.

Not yet in the Sony ecosystem, can anyone comment say on the preorder/backorder situation back for the 7 II, and 7s? I get the feeling, particularly with the high price, all preorders will get them pretty close to the release date. I come from Panasonic, and there was a pretty big delay on GH-2 and 3 until they were readily available. A couple months.
I waited and ordered the A7 and the A7s the first day they were shipping with no issues, a number of places had them in stock. I said it before, I can’t imagine a $3200 camera will be sold out.
40% faster AF compared to A7R? This is less than I expected for the price. Please go FF A6000…
a7rii is not going to sell that good. everyone has the a7s by now and no money for something new.
Take this with a grain of salt. But the rep at Adorama said that Sony informed them that the first shipment of cameras would be sent to them in the first week of July. Now that might be 10 cameras, and that may change… But if true these cameras may trickle out sooner than expected.
Sounds right. sony produces a lot of consumer electronics. They don’t subcontract that out.
When they get them and when they can ship/sell them are two different things. I know a manager at Best Buy and he always has photos of video game boxes and movies they get with labels that say don’t display or sell until date X. Texas Media was posting photos on DVXuser of their first shipment of A7s’ last year that arrived before the release date. I actually bought one since they mentioned that they weren’t all spoken for.
I can just see the video with Kai:
“Sony has really up its game with the A7r ii, and is saying to Canon and Nikon, ‘Up yours!'”
That $3200 hurts but Sony addressed everthing I ever asked for on SAR, save lossless RAW which I read today they are working on and think can address with firmware update. As much as I want to wait for real world reviews and the inevitable discounts, my preorder is in because I feel I should reward Sony for listening, innovating, and investing while others in this market seem to be tone deaf and going nowhere. Bravo Sony – but this camera better be the home-run it is made out to be and worth the asking price, or I will never get over paying $3200 for a disappointment. Just sayin…. if these are selling for $2300 in a few months it will be a very long time before I buy any Sony product. Like a kid before X-mas my A7rII can’t get here soon enough, I haven’t been this excited since the retina iMac (also a wallet crusher).
I think you might be surprised at just how well it will sell!
I have the A7S, but wouldn’t turn my nose up at faster AF. In many respects I think the A7RII would make a perfect companion for it. I’m not thrilled with the inevitably bigger files (there is always some aspects that won’t suit all), but you do get more detail and greater scope for cropping.
Perhaps someone might explain the reason to me, but I’m at a loss as to why ‘Pre-ordering’ is staggered across the globe.
You can now pre-order in the US, but not here in the UK. We don’t even know the price!
In terms of delivery a pre-order means nothing and I’d hate to think that Sony (or anyone, come to that) would squeeze parts of the market for more money if demand is great in another area.
I have no objection to companies setting prices and availability for their own reasons, but can we at least have a level playing field?
Companies have become far too accustomed to screwing over UK customers. They’re not about to stop now. The Sony shipping dates announced show that it’s not just the pre-orders that are delayed for the UK, but also the final availability. And what do we get as compensation for this unnecessary delay? a massive price hike!
Americans would never stand for being treated like that, so I guess we are partly to blame by just accepting the situation.
It’s Sony’s way of showing us how incompetent they can be when it comes to customer service… You can actually preorder at retailers currently in the US but Sony doesn’t even have the A7r2 available for preorder on it’s US website at http://www.store.sony.com site yet… As a Sony stockholder this makes no sense to me considering if Sony sells the new models directly they make approx. 40% morenmargin than selling through a retailer !!!
I think that probably sums it up entirely.
It does seem extremely odd, though, when you consider these are ‘pre-orders’! They’re not binding in any respect, so to not synchronise worldwide makes so little sense.
Where are all the full size image samples? What a Sony marketing fail!
