After many rumors it seems like we got a first evidence about a new and first f/2.8 FE zoom from Sony. SAR reports the 24-70mm f/2.8 FE G lens got registered at Sony Assist system. Not sure though if it means the lens will be announced before the end of the year. And it’s quite strange to see that Sony’s G lens will be faster (and better?) then the 24-70mm Zeiss version.

Curious to see the specs, especially the weight. But i kinda feel the cliché about smaller mirrorless will be over. 😉
Sony never put the Aperture in the Zomm Lens Product code.. why shout they do it here? ..its only another fake…
You’ve never used the Sony trade site before, on there they do. However, it wouldn’t be the first time something on Sony’s trade site was wrong or incorrectly entered.
Sony a7rII need fast zooms.
Canon taught me for 2,8 zooms. And last Canon zooms are best in class: 24-70 2,8L II, 70-200 2,8L II.
I’ll buy one, and I never will buy f4 zooms.
Not very surprising it looks like the Tamron 24/70 f2.8 so Sony can make it cheap, also to repair their mistakes in the poor choice of lenses.
Tamron is a DSLR lens. A7 system is mirrorless. So it can’t be old Tamron lens.. Maybe a new Tamron lens designed for mirrorless, but it can’t be the old DSLR Tamron.
I know that of course, but the the lens calculation must not be far of to be able to create a FE lens
Then the same people who bemoaned the “slow” f/4 zooms are gonna start bitching about size and weight…
