The Big Highlight of todays Sony event are the new QX Lens Cameras. The livestream will start at 16:00 London time and I will embed the live video on SonyAlphaRumors. Specs and price of the QX are known ($250 for QX10 and $500 for QX100). But there is also some more stuff to come:
On the picture on top you see the AX1 4K camcorder that will be sold for around $4,499. Than you have the new AS30 Sportscamera for $298 (Image via Sonyactioncam2) and the HDR-MV1 audio+video recorder (Image via Stuff Magazine October issue).
UPDATE: Here is the full 4K camcorder press text: http://www.prweb.com/releases/Sony/Camcorder-News/prweb11086357.htm
Small news for A-mount camera owners: The 70-200mm has been officially discontinued by Sony Japan. The new version II lens will be announced along the new NEX-FF stuff and other camera in late September!

Give Andrea a break man!
It’s been asked a lot of times already and his answer is that he is still finding and confirming info. Because he didn’t answer to you it doesn’t mean he hasn’t answered at all.
Obviously, there are things that are as interesting as the nex 7 successor that have a tighter deadlines (like the stuff being announced today or the FF NEX to be announced at the end of this month)

The more is delayed, the mature product will be. Who knows, maybe it turns out to be the “cheap” NEX-FF…
I told the guys at GoPro!: Give Sony four years in any video market, and they’ll find a way to catch you, if they want to. They really want to. So they’re going to do it. They’re tired of hearing about Zune, as well, in case the images didn’t give that away, lol. Somebody handed a chunk of money to the Digital Imaging division and said “Vaio ain’t cutting it and no one’s making money on panel. You guys appear to be turning the corner when everyone else is Code Blue. Let’s see what you got. Oh. And you have 14 months. Get cracking.”
Well. We’re not even done with the R&D cycle yet and already they’re breaking rules left and right. It’s fun to watch someone actually trying something new for a change.
With the splash of products since the NEX 7, the buzz around the imaging division at Sony does appear to showcase a tour de force going on in there.
I’m getting a few of those upcoming action cams for my kayak.
Last time I checked, the QX100 was rumored to be priced at $450. Has the price just gone up to $500 ?
Yeah, inflation maybe.
yes.
Polishing products is a good thing. But there are literally hords of people waiting for a 7 successor and other makers are not sitting on their hands in the meanwhile. The next higher end EOS M might have a built-in EVF. IF Canon has sufficiently sped up their AF performance (and latest firmware had considerably improved it on the original M), a bunch of those folks (that includes me I guess) are likely to step over to Canon if the product is available sooner than the 7X or whatever they call it…
I agree with Claire. I’m looking for a rangefinder sized interchangeable lens camera. Because I am not loaded and because lenses from different manufacturers are incompatible I really want to be sure about my investment. NEX-7 was released in August 2011 and considering the improvements with mirrorless technology, Sony should come up with a new model sooner than later.
Panasonix GX7 ? And with adapter you can mount many other lense mount on it, except the Sony E.
