  1. Any news about Sony a99 promotion in Europe?
Nobody is now going to buy a99 outside the States – everybody would be waiting for promotion – it’s a marketing suicide!

    1. RX100 is cheaper on the sonyrewards site for sony card holder and its a new camera not open box. there it is $569.

I can’t help but think the a99 must be a disaster, they offer this “deal” and it doesn’t seem to be changing the volume sold… at some point they will have to cut the price to be competitive with Nikon and Canon… until that time Sony will be begging for buyers.

  2. Any reviews of that Sony 20mm pancake yet? Is it significantly better than the 16mm?
It could be a nice way to make a NEX truly pocketable (well, if you have a big pocket).

  3. Sony just don’t get it with lenses. Who wants a 20/2.8 pancake! Why not make a 27/2 pancake and have a 40mm eqivalent, just like almost all film compacts used to have and which was so useful on Leica bodies as well.

If I want to use a photojournalist’s moderate wide, with at least some ability to narrow focus I’m forced to use that great clump of a lens the 24/1.8 – something that mitigates against the small, silth-like body of the Nex almost defeating its purpose completely.

  4. Crap ! I am traveling to HK next month and the grip + flash bundle is only available in the US. 🙁

My friend is traveling to the US but I can’t ask her to get a camera, flash + grip for me so I guess I won’t be able to afford a A99 anytime soon considering the price is around $3300 where I live for the A99 without any freebies.
