Very first Sony A35 review at Photoreview Australia!

[shoplink 7419][/shoplink]

Photoreview Australia (Click here) published a full test of the new Sony A35. it conains plenty of graphs and Imatests. There are almost no differences between the A55 and A35: “Not unexpectedly, many of the features we liked about the SLT-A55 are also found in the new camera. The compact and lightweight body is a pleasure to use and most frequently-used controls are within quick and easy reach.“. Those are the ratings:

  • Build: 8.5
  • Ease of use: 8.5
  • Autofocusing: 9.0
  • Still image quality: JPEG 8.5; ARW.RAW 8.5
  • Video quality: 8.8
  • OVERALL: 9.0
  • The A35 will be in Stock by August and you can look for preorders at [shopcountry 7419].

    1. gee – this is getting exciting! The A77 is forming before our eyes. I was interested to see the A35 doesnt get a fold out LCD – perhaps choosing this as ‘point of difference’ will not be the best choice?? I also see it is still perservering with those horrible strap mounts. At pain of being petty this is the number one criticism i have with my A55 – not a bad thing to have something like this being number 1!! The A77 pictures yesterday gave me cause for hope…….

        1. Too bad, you’re keeping it forever.

On the plus side, if you keep collecting Canon bodies, eventually they’ll let you join Canon Professional Services.

    2. At least the flash has the ability to clamp tightly to the NEX flash mount. I have a problem with my A700 and the HLV-56 flash with the connection being slack and misfiring when I turn the camera to portait orientation.

    3. I would add the main difference that I’ve been waiting for the A35 as opposed to buying the A33 or A55- the increased amount of time allowed to record video with stabilization on- 29 minutes.
