  1. interesting choice of A-mount lenses on sale… almost all of them seem due to a Version II if you ask me, either for SSM & weather sealing, or for optical tweaking. We might be in for a treat with these new Sony announcements coming up! Fingers crossed!
    Oh – yeah – either that or A-mount is dead, right? 😉

  2. Is the E 24mm F1.8 ZA lens worth it, if I’ve already got SEL35F18? I mainly take pictures of people/portraits.

    1. 24mm is one of the best walkaround lens I’ve used. sharp and contrasty, focuses close.. that being said, something longer like the 50mm will be better for portraits in a traditional sense..

    2. I find I like the 35mm equiv point of view of the Ziess lens much more than the ~53mm equiv of the SEL35. It’s frequently too narrow for what I want to include in the frame. I have the SEL50 so that takes care of any portrait needs I Ihave.

      In fact, I was planning on selling the SEL35, but this discount will probably drop the resale value. :/

  3. Interesting. The A58 and 18-55II (plus free Ruggard Hunter 25 bag and Sandisk 16GB card deal) at B&H. I suspect Sony is selling this camera + lens at a near loss.

    Sony cost:

    A58 = $240
    18-55II = $150
    Total = $390

    Not much profit.
