(SR5) Leaked! Hasselblad version of the Sony A7r!!!

Look here! Hasselbad will soon announce the luxury version of the Sony A7r! These are the very first images leaked via Chiphell. We don’t know yet what the name of the camera will be. So far the other Hasselblad Sony clones are called [shoplink 37464 ebay]Stellar (Click here)[/shoplink], [shoplink 37465 ebay]Lunar (Click here)[/shoplink] and Hasselblad HV ($7,999 off on BH!).

A bit strange though they launch the expensive A7r clone after the Sony A7rII announcement!

Thanks Joe for sharing these pics!

  1. Nice box – could be used as camera bag.
A little expensive – but I guess louis vuitton designed it, so price is okay after all

  2. Did they not announce that they stopped doing this kind of bull..it?#

Another factor that makes this also sad is that they are using A7r as the base, and not the newer A7II or A7rII, effectively rolling old Sony stock and selling it at a premium to any man believing the H will show society his wisdom in photography…unaware that everyone that knows about photography will know he’s just posing.

    1. To be honnest they bought these cameras probably some time ago, it takes time to create the extras.

  3. I was looking at the Phase One website, and thought to myself that Hasselblad should be doing what Phase One is doing, building on their decades of craftsmanship in the medium format area. If this is indeed a SR5, all I can say is I thought the photo looked like a birthday cake made in the form of a camera – it looks that bad.

  4. The B&H price for the HV includes the CZ24-70, so it is now cheaper than the A99, if you include the extra battery and fancy case.

    1. Woah! Didn’t notice this price drop, the HV is actually quite nice and as you say actually comes with a decent lens.

  5. Do I have this right?
Hasselblad will now make a superexpensive dress up version of the obsolete soon to be discontinued a7r?

  6. That grip would be very nice add-on for any A7x user. Actually if they just sold these, they would probably make more money..

  7. A bit off topic, but is there anything known or rumored that there is still another FE-mount anouncement to be expected? Something along the lines of an even higher MP camera, or do we have to assume that this is it for this year from Sony? After all there was some talk about a possible A9 being in the pipeline.

  8. There is nothing better than Hasselblad to spoil the look of the good looking sony camera !
It really look like a camera from LIDL

    1. It’s all a matter of personal opinion but I thought the design of the A7 was pretty ugly…… (not that this is much better)

    1. It would be nice to have a “live-bulb” funktion in the new a7s mII, like olympus om-d – it would be absolutely awsome improvement for lowlight queen a7s!

Andrea, would you like to start a voting or smth. like this for such new funktion in a7s mII? I think Sony can implement it relatively easy, especially since they do cooperate with olympus. And actually doesn`t the inbody HDR-funktion base on the similar technology? 🙂

        1. oh, cool! I tried to find it on google but didn’t found any match for such app. can you send the link please?

    1. Maybe Blad is more real about battery life. Regular CIPA is in case of mirrorless quite far from reality.

  9. Kudos for the new Hassy cameras to make us scratch our heads wondering “would I be buying this if I had ten million dollars?”

  10. Pitiful. What Hasselblad should be working on is a mirrorless medium format camera. All the technology is there already: MF CMOS sensor with live view, high res EVFs etc. The lenses are probably the biggest challenge, but not unsurmountable.

  11. The Chinese will buy it. They have no idea what to do with their money, and even less idea what to do with their lack of education and good taste. It’s rather pathetic that Hasselblad releases these first images on their Chinese site, but that’s where the sales come from. There is a small “luxury” photo shop in Shenzhen, adjacent to Hong Kong, FULL of all the Hasselblad clones. Selling for a fortune. I’ve tried take pictures a couple months ago inside the shop.. the shop owner almost killed me and kicked me out. China is awesome..

    1. Since I met recently guy which had Phase One on very sturdy tripod and he was from China, I think some of them actually know what they are doing.

But most of them just have latest Canon and some L lenses (tourists I mean, plenty of these here).

      1. I see teenage girls taking selfies with 20.000 Leica Ms with Noctilux lens attached and kids on the streets making cool fun videos with Red Cameras. Money abound.. limitless..

  12. If they would use the new A7R2 it would be only 50 % a scam,
so they had to go full throttle and use the first A7R ! 😀
