I still don’t know when Sony will officially launch the NEX-C3 but we got new info about the price and availability from new sources. The official price of the NEX-C3 with 18-55mm kit lens will be 549 Dollars/Euro. That’s the exact price of the current (discounted) [shoplink 3000]Sony NEX-3[/shoplink]. We have been told that there will be limited shipments in late June/early July. That because of the current production issues in Japan.

Has Sony promised an update? Sony typically does not do firmware updates. Sony releases new models.
Well, they haven’t promised or announced any, but a pdf detailing features of a new firmware was spotted on one of their websites the other week, before they took it down.
It mentioned peaking and effects filters, both features present in the C3 manual that was leaked too… but specifically mentioned a firmware update.
They’ve added some significant software features to the NEX in the past. I’m sure support will tail off as models are discontinued, but the NEX 5 at least is still a current model with no rumoured replacement just yet. I hope they don’t hold back on such a useful feature simply to try and sell more of a far off future model.

from the czech manaul page 50 , NEX C3 will be able to use Precision Digital Zoom with any lens (they did not mention fixed focus lens only) (NEX3 /5 Digital Precision zoom works with 16mm Lens only)
that’s means we can use Precision digital zoom to crop out heavy vignette from fast C-mount lens.
