[shoplink 3000]
[/shoplink]
As you know my contact form didn’t work for the last 20 days. I am slowly catching up with the rumor messages I missed. I do hope my sources can give me an answer to the following message I received today:
“My [shoplink 3000]NEX-3[/shoplink] is now in the hands of techs in Larado, Texas getting its brains re-installed. Tech support person assured me that: ->we are aware of the problem and a fixed and proper firmware updater will be posted any day.<- Meanwhile, DO NOT use the firmware updater if you have an Intel Mac running 10.6.”
Did you hear something about the new firmware?
P.S.: Sony has still to decide when the NEX-3C will be announced. But I got some more info I will post soon on SAR.
Reminder: When you buy a NEX-5 or NEX-3 you get an $150 instant rebate when you buy it with both the 16mm and the 18-55mmm lenses. Check at Amazon (Click here), Adorama (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here).

Hope Sony will allow HDR selection without first disabling RAW output.
Sounds like a new firmware installer program for Mac, not a new firmware. I guess the old updating software could damage your NEX when upgrading to the latest firmware.
I agree with this… very, very unlikely this is an additional firmware with new features for Nex3…
You mean, NEX-C3, not NEX-3C. The latter already exists.
What the crap? Where is the a33/a55 firmware update?
Also, I’d like to point out that the NEX3 is on clearance at least in Slovenia.
The shops sell it for 299 EUR with the 16mm kit and for 349 with 18-55 kit.
The red version of the NEX3 with 18-55mm lens can even be had for 299 EUR in the “Sony Center” shop!
FULL VIDEO CONTROLS PLEASE!
I requested Sony to enable Digital Precision Zoom on manual lens on their next firmware update,
so I can use Digital Zoom to crop out the vignette from c-mount Lens,
hope they will add this too.
Wheres A33 or 55 update… theres no rumors for A55 and 33 at all…
I would also like to know are there any news on a33/a55 firmware update?
Some Costco stores, it appears few and far between, got a shipment of the NEX-3 Bundle, the one that sold out last month. Camera, two lenses, Sony case and Sony 4GB card for USD$599. The bundle is packaged by Sony for Costco.
For me as customer there are many tweaks they can make in fw
– minimum shutter speed
– manual flash
– manual focusing aids that do not require zooming
– more control in video
– settable highest auto iso value up to 6400
– more shortcut options, incl ability to repurpose or swap current layouts.
– improved af with a mount sam and ssm lens

we need update firmaware for A55!!!
