I had the luck of using the RX100 yesterday evening for about an hour. This is an awesome camera. So much ahead of the LX5 I used to have. I am going to buy it, but first I need that A99.. 🙂

I agree with you. This seems like a spam. I am not sure about this “world famous” nor about “climbing rapidly”! I wouldn’t be surprised if Admin removed the link!
With the arch being off center it really bugs me. This is hardly blowing up the flickr verse, im sure most of the views are from SAR.
I respect your opinion. I was just sharing a real word shot at high ISO of from a camera that this article is indeed about. No sales no scam no spam. Just a regular dude posting a regular picture from a cam which people may be considering to buy. Thanks for your policing efforts. Perhaps your anti spam efforts would be best put to use on the 14,762 spam mails in our inboxes.
Does anyone know whether there will be any underwater housings made for rx100 and whether Sony will make any themselves ? And also when they will be available if so ? Thanks
With the popularity of the RX100 I wouldn’t be surprised if a company came along and developed one.
I haven’t heard of one yet, but nikon is planning one for the nikon1 series. No doubt Sony will follow.

Shame it once again has crap AE bracketing that Sony thinks is unimportant or is trying to convince us that we need a top of the range/expensive camera to achieve which of coarse is pure non-sense (i have cheap compact that achive superior bracketing). How many amatuer and professional reviews does it take to convince Sony of this? Come on Sony WAKE UP!!!!
Any reviewer that say it feels solid and is easy to hold must be sponsored by Sony. I own the RX100 and it feels as solid as an empty soft drink can and it’s almost impossible to hold on to it.
Other than that it is a really nice camera.
Why so much buzz on RX100 on SAR… is it an Alpha camera?
Features, performance and functionality are all clues of what the imaging division is up to and what to expect on soon-to-be-released alphas.
I wouldn’t normally be interested in the RX100, but when I saw the video link and recognized that I live nearby here, and visit this spot often I had to watch it! Beautiful pictures of the Ryde Bridge in Sydney, Australia, love that spot. Turns out I think the camera is quite cool too, will be a good replacement once my Lumix wears out…
Medium format is too big and heavy for me and even at $6000 out of my price range plus dont forget the cost of lenses.
WhileI approve of economical mf I wouldstill not be one of thier customers.
Also..since high resolution is my priority 50mp is not sufficient resolution to justify the size increase ……that would require mayby 200mp.
I do not see any way it would work for me…even if they produced everything I ask for.
