Just saw Canon`s 2 megapixel high ISO monster camera that costs 30 000 dollars. Not quite good IQ at high ISO as A7s, but they are getting closer. I expect they will catch up to A7s very soon, with 1 mpix medium format at 140 000 dollars.
MAKE $98 regularly on the net!!!!……….After earning an average of 19952 Dollars monthly,I’m finally getting 98 Dollars an hour, just working 4-5 hours daily online… three to five hours of work daily… Weekly paycheck… Bonus opportunities…Payscale of $6k to $9k /a month… Just few hours of your free time, any kind of computer, elementary understanding of web and stable connection is what is required…….HERE I STARTED-TAKE A LOOK AT…….mv….
Just read the specs. Its 4:2:0 8bit & UHD only. So what are people paying so much for?
Embedded timecode? SDI output? XLR mics? 24/48K audio? ND filter presets? No super slo-mo (crank up & crank down)?
With such fierce competition from mirrorless these days, does it justify to pay huge premium for those extra camera controls? Heck! The Samsung NX1 can even do true 4096 at 8bit! Cheaper! Spare change from this FS-5 can get you an excellent audio recording device & a great mic just for audio acquisition, if needed.
4:2:0 8bit in UHD, 4:2:2 in HD, will also record true 4K and prores with future firmware. the sensor have a proper cooling apparatus which mean the rolling shutter will be better and can take hours of clip. If you complain about how this thing is overpriced you will really surprised to see Canon offering.
I think if Sony could make a 15-85mm f/2.8 (an aps-c version of the 28-135mm cinema lens) this camera would look a lot more appealing. An f/4 lens on this camera is like putting an f/5.6 lens on the a7s. Not very exciting.
One of the two biggest reasons for shooting on an s35 sensor is to gain more control over what’s in focus. At f/2.8 you have just enough control to get the look you want in most “verite” (?) situations- but at f/4 it feels like you might as well be shooting on a 1″ sensor. And, the PXW-X70 *is* essentially this camera with a one inch sensor. Same 4:2:0 8-bit QFHD and the same 10-bit 4:2:2 HD. I think the bit rate the X70 records QFHD is a little lower, idk.

4:2:2 10bit 4K video? True 4096? Does it record RAW?

I also saw an interview where the Sony rep said they would be adding RAW in future firmware update.
And 1080P is a full 10-bit 4:2:2. So if you’re shooting mainly 2K, this is a great, overpriced camera to do that with ?
The only question for me is: with an external device (i.e. oddysey 7q, atomos…) is this camera capable to record slow mo continuosly? Anybody knows?
A lot of excitement here for the new FS5! 😉
