Hmm… the Amazon UK prices are way above the pre-order price from warehouseexpress (UK) and Jessops (UK). Looks like the sellers are looking to make a quick buck off some impatient people.
Sony seem pretty determined to sell you that 18-55 lens. I don’t see any 5N packages without it.
For US, you have a choice of black body only.
sony uk body price is 509 pounds. with the usual 10% streetdiscount this is around 460 pounds, no order until then.
BTW anybody know if these hong kong ebay bodies: are they 24/60p and what about menu – also english? sony has worldwide warranty??
HOW MUCH! those Amazon UK prices are ridic. Jessops are way cheaper and throwing in some extras. Also, on Amazon, still saying “Pre-order, released 5th September”….
I believe they are mostly 50p as PAL system is the TV standard in HK. Unless they imported models from say, Japan.
It is better that you ask to confirm before you commit to the purchase@ Ebay for those HK ebay listings.

What’s with this hipster nonsense? The people in that video look like people in any generic American big city. In fact, here in Los Angeles, all of the professional photographers that I know look MUCH more like what you’d apparently consider a “hipster.”

Nobody whine about hipsters. Sony lacks semi-pro model with 16 mpx, thats all.
Some people are sensitive to that word I guess.

That’s why the camera market works well. Because someone has something more and you can’t have everything.
Otherwise it becomes a monopoly and you have no choice, like Microsoft and their security bugs 😀

What’s typically the cheapest camera store in the UK? I see that Jessop’s offer the 5N with an accessory deal, but I don’t believe for a second that it’s worth it’s retail price of £139 (for a cable, battery, and 8GB SD card).
Ordered last night. It says it’ll ship today, but the status is stuck on ‘processing’ – I hope it really does. Anyone else’s ship yet?
