Yes, the cameras will be on the market today. But…. only the kit lens (28-70) is available at this time! So pity!
I expect the 35/2.8 to ship at the same time, that is what is announced. No shipping message for me yet though, hope for delivery by Wednesday.

Yes, that has worked well in the past.
I just got the info (German store) that the Zeiss FE 2.8/35 lenses are expected tomorrow and that the combined orders (camera + lens) will be processed tomorrow or wednesday (depending on the time of lens arrival). The position on the reservation list for the camera will be kept, so let us just keep fingers crossed…

Just checked the status of my order (Belgium) and everything (A7R + LA-EA4) is in stock and will be shipped tomorrow.

I expect notification of shipment with TNT Wordwide (out of Eindhoven-NL i think) later today, along with tracking code, and delivery on wednesday late pm.

Now my order on sony says it was delivered on the 5th of November! I wish! But I got a note from UKMail on Saturday that it will be delivered today by 12. Fingers crossed! BTW I ordered the A7R only
I have two seperate orders for the a7 and the 35mm and both say: “One or more items are currently not in stock. We will ship your order as soon as every item is in stock again.” (translated from German) 🙁

Btw, the Sony hotline stated on friday that everything was in stock and ready for shipment, so i guess we’ll have to be patient only some more days.

I ordered it with 20% off last week on wednesday and they deviler it on the 30th of november. This is what was said from the first day. I hope it will change for me too.

Sony is always slow with the confirmation mails. The LA-EA4 adapter was at my door before I received the mail.
I am waiting for my Zeiss 24-70, before I buy an A7.
Does anyone know when they will be shipped ? I have seen many different dates, from December to February.
Word I got from Sony reps at Salon de la Photo in Paris: not until March or April.
I hope this was just an “at worst” estimation. Sony website says 2/2/2014. (But I know the infos on Sony.com are often misleading)
At least, it gives me some more time to figure out if I really should buy the a7 and not the a7r.

Amazon had promised delivery for today, but yesterday it changed to the 27th.
I’m pissed, but oh well, what’s one more week when you’ve waited a month.
You (and everyone) should keep this in mind next time you consider amazon. It is in their purchase agreement. Read the fine print.

apparently not, I was promised to receive it tomorrow and just got the information, that the 35/2.8 is not in stock and they can’t tell when it’s coming. If I choose it new on the sony.de website it’s scheduled for end of january :-I

Just phoned Sony to ask where my camera is and they told me it will not be deliverd soon because the 35/2.8 is not in stock at the moment. Camera A7R is, but not the lens.

Whenever you by a new item with iffy delivery dates, order each item separately in different orders or they will wait until everything is availalbe. This is especially true if they offer free shipping.
My shipped status has changed. one hour before it said “shipped” but nothing else.
Now I see the tracking button but the tracking number is still missing.
So I guess everything is in progress :-)))

mine just landed on my desk..im in LOndon….huge user manual..oh dear im used to nikon so its gonna take me a while to work this one out!
manual isnt huge..its just full of lots of languages! in fact doesnt seem to tell you much

Yep they should be. I mean, there is a contextual help option.
The manual was linked here on SAR about a week ago and the manual is essentially worthless on any detail. I think a lot of set-up is going to be trial and error or with the help of the community. Hopefully somebody will do a Thom Hogan style users guide that really delves into the details of every set-up option and set-up combinations.
“worthless” is far from tue. all functions are more or less explained, but indeed not in depth. if you already used an A-mount camera, you should find your way around very quickly.
also, there is supposed to be a “help guide” with all details online under http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/ (but it seems not to be there yet)

Mine just arrived too! Took 30 pictures, just for the pleasure of being deafen by the shutter and then off it goes to be recharged. Takes 4-5 hours without a standalone charger… Oh well, I’ll play with high ISO tonight! Shots done with Zeiss planar 50/2, biogon 35/2 CV nokton 50/1.5 (ltm), Fotodiox pro adapter. Works a charm. Focus peaking is spot on. Talking about A7R.
i have tried Contax g 45mm F2 on A7R and works a treat although cant seem to zoom in on manual focusing with the contax lens..not sure what im doing wrong but images look good..a lot of detail. focus peaking works fine. the strap it comes with just says A7 not A7r…not bothered as im going to use a third party one
You mean achieve digital magnification to assist focusing? I had the same problem… Then discovered… I was pressing the wrong button… Try C1 near the shutter button, it should do the trick!
hi Al, yes excatly… i just sussed it too! it works amazingly well with manual focus…especially with contax g..i have a metabones adapter for it and it has a lovely big focusing ring….the camera is so small too but not too small..
Yep, so good I can’t believe it! Now the only thing is that waiting 5 hours for a battery to charge is reeeeeally annoying! 😉

My A7R has arrived!!! Now I just have to wait till after work, then go home and look at it. Unfortunately I have to immediately go to a Tenants panel meeting, so won’t be able to play with it properly till much later. I ordered it on the 24th October direct from Sony.
I ordered from sony.co.uk at half past midnight on 17th Oct on launch day but just rang Sony and my a7 isn’t due until the end of November.
(and I was only that slow ordering as their site initially had a pricing issue when I tried ordering earlier)
I confess I’m a little annoyed when others who ordered later seem to be getting their cameras sooner.

did you order the camera on its own? or with a lens? if its was woith a lens they wont send the camera until lens is in stock too and i don’t think they have the lenses yet…..good luck with it
a7 on it’s own and my order still just says “We temporarily have a stock shortage on one of your items” as it has for the last couple of weeks and also still says an estimated ship date of 4th or 5th Nov !
just ring them they have all the info..the website info is nonsense…my order said it was delivered on friday and the date it was delivered apparently was the 5th NOV??
Thanks Dan – I did ring them this morning and that’s how I know the end of Nov – apparantly my order was left ‘open’ and I now have to wait for a restock.
Just need to be patient now, but I would expect better customer service for a £5 ebay purchase – and to get an email if they weren’t able to meet the original date they’d promised. A ‘sorry’ and a revised estimate would have kept me happy.
But really posted all this just to say that if you pre-orderd on the release day, just be aware that not everyone is going to get their cameras by the 20th

Sony UK website says out of stock on A7R, and the preorder option is gone. I guess that means they’ve shipped at least some already. No info on mine yet though from WEX.
My A7 and the supposedly crappy kit lens is on the way, yeehaw!;-) Been at least a week that I sold my NEX-7 on ebay an all this time I had to shoot with my iPhone! So I’m pretty happy that maybe alrready tomorrow the Fullframe-Era can beginn, wonder on how much it will change my picture style! Anyhow if the 24-70 Zeiss will get rave reviews, I might want to re-invest in better glass, lets wait and see! Happy for now though…
Just phoned to Sony. They say cam is ready to be pick up, however DPD didn’t pick up yesterday, then it takes 2-3 days. So 19/20 can’t be met. Very disappointed.

Got it! My A7R arrived today (Netherlands). Minimal manual (no index!), nothing realy interesting or helpful for that matter, help guide not downloadable as promised in the package…..
I’m a longtime Canon user, so only have their glass. Works with Metabones EF-mount, but autofocus seems very, very slow! No RAW support in Lightroom yet, so comparing image quality is difficult.

Standard setting shows very annoying horizon in viewfinder,no clue how to switch that off.
Well, we’ll see if it’s a keeper.
