As we all know Sony will announce new DSLR cameras soon. So may it is not casual to see a huge price drop (-$50!!!) on the Sony A550 kit: Sony Alpha 550 with 18-55mm Lens now $697.59 only (click here)

If a “huge price drop” is -50 USD, I can’t imagine what a (normal) price drop can be LOL!
Currently Sony UK is selling the A550 with £100 off for £499, while Digital Rev is selling it for £389!!!
Plus Sony is doing cashback, which is probably £40 ish. I’m seriously considering it, but I;m holding out for the HD video version.
The a500 (body only) was under $500 the other day, now is approx $500 shipped from Willoughby’s on Amazon. You can find the a550 body for just a little more ~$569 shipped on ebay from Hong Kong. Amazon a550 is still around $700 or so.
we had a huge price drop a few weeks back at work before them selling the demo model to me for $300AUD (around $400USD)
