old video 😛
A7s looks very promising. Btw, check out the review of A7r from Michael Fry, one of the best nature photographers in the US. This is probably the most comprehensive one I’ve seen on web. http://www.michaelfrye.com/landscape-photography-blog/2014/04/18/sony-a7r/
He just learned “that there’s no inherent loss in sharpness when using adapters to mount lenses on the A7r” omg omg omg he’s so cool right?
In other news, he’s also looking at RF lenses on ebay and is about to be disappointed with performance from wa lenses…
He just found out ” that there’s no inherent loss in sharpness when using adapters to mount lenses on the A7r”
The guy’s a genius!
Before making snide remarks, learn to read. The comment is made in a section where he considers possible corner softness and effects of shutter shock with adapters. He bothered to ask a Sony rep whether “the problem [could be] related to the extra spacing and flex inherent with using adapters” and found out it is not. Overall, it is a valuable review of the A7r and it does not deserve to be slandered on this or any forum.
Looks very promising. But does anybody know if the A7s has Anti Alias filter for still photography
I would say it does as an AA filter is useful, if not required, in video recording.
At 12 megapixels, it’ll likely have AA filter. The reason why cameras with high megapixel count like the A7r and D800e manages to get away with moire is due to their high pixel density.
Moire and aliasing performance will be best in class due to the full sensor read out without pixel binning.
He’s asking for still photography, not video
I’m waiting to see how this camera performs when movement is involved
Like all the others (maybe slightly less thanks to the lower amount of pixels), it does not have IS, if you want one go for the in-body IS of the A99.
Erm, I wasn’t referring to OIS or IIS, I’m more interested to see how this camera perform when it comes to rolling shutter and moire.
No 4k in body, no buy.
Panasonic do it better.
panasonic do only 1/4 proccessing from this fullframe, its not for you
tiny sensor, no buy
Still static shots.
Proof that we never should have stopped bombing. Sony’s ethics are about as good as the Pearl Harbor kamikazes.
Need a rolling shutter test with quick panning.
