  1. Would be nice if it would allow a user to choose which card to save video files to when shooting dual card JPEG / raw sorting. Video will only save to card 1 in that setup.

(Yes, I know it’s the lack of the option in sony’s firmware not the rccdroid’s fault).

    1. It might work with the following cameras:

      ILCE-5000, ILCE-6000, ILCE-7, ILCE-7R
      DSLR-A700, DSLR-A850, DSLR-A900
      SLT-A58, SLT-A99, SLT-A99V

we will check, if there are enough resources to build a version for A7

      1. When you say it might work, do you mean in the future or right now? I just tested with my ILCE-6000 and it didn’t connect. My A6000 presented itself as a media device even though I have selected PC remote for USB connection, and your app didn’t recognize it.

I’m really hoping for a version for the ILCE cameras.

  2. ..and because Sony left out tethering for its flagship APS-C A77, it doesn’t work…how ironic that the A58 gets tethering but the high-end A77 doesn’t.

    1. A99

      Mini-B plug
      |
      | USB cable (usually included in A99 package)
      |
      Standard-A plug

      Standard-A receptacle
      |
      | OTG adapter (e.g.
      |
      Micro-B plug

      AndroidDevice

(Micro USB OTG to USB 2.0 Adapter) there are a lot of offers on the internet.

  3. Anybody knows where I can find the SDK for Sony’s USB interface ??? For tethering.

I would like write the Lightroom component for Sony’s camera.

Will I have to reverse engineer??

    1. its due to the A77 having the old standard minolta 3 pin remote port, the A58/A99 and the newer Nex style camera’s have the sony Multi Interface port which adds some additional functionality onto the mini usb port.

  4. RCCDroid, first of all thank you for the awesome app.

I have a suggestion that might or might not be implemented (I am not a professional in terms of coding programs)

Do you think you will be able to include Live View on the phone? Other than that, do you think it is possible to connect another phone via WiFi so that the remote can be used wireless, thus giving the WiFi tethering option to DSLT users that doesnt have that function.

    To summarize, something like this:

    A99/A58 Phone#1 (OTG) Phone#2

I am sure we can attach cheap android phone to the camera to be used as a ‘transceiver’

    1. I am sorry, but Live View is not supported by Sony Firmware.
Wireless remote control via Bluetooth is already implemented and will be released soon (with a 2nd Android device as client). Wifi may be an option for future releases.
