Noktor annouced via Twitter (Click here) that the 50mm f/0.95 for NEX will cost $1.000. The lens will have the same optical design as the current Micro Four Thirds version. If you need a fast lens like that your other alternatives are the [shoplink 7140 ebay]Canon 50mm f/0.95 (Click here to see it on eBay)[/shoplink] and [shoplink 7142 ebay]Leica 50mm f/0.95 (Click here to see ebay auctions)[/shoplink]. They deliver a better image quality but 1) you need an adapter 2) They are very expensive!

The lens is made by the Hong Kong company SLRmagic which already sells the [shoplink 7109 ebay]35mm f/1.7 for NEX on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

  1. It’s so a much wiser choice to save 500 USD and buy a new Sony 50mm f1.4 lens + MA-NEX adapter. You also get great resale value after years!

This Noktor shit isn’t worth 1000 USD!!

    1. I would think it would cost the same as any other quality Zeiss lens.

Zeiss 24mm f2 for the Sony A-mount sells for about $1,250 USD

  2. If this had been a autofocus lens then the price might have been justified (despite the poor image quality).

  3. You can still get a new Cosina/Voigtlander 35/1.2 for a shade over a thousand, and there are plenty of 50ish/f1.2 SLR lenses out there for a couple of hundred. Is the extra half stop worthy of such a quality downgrade?

    1. Bragging rights has no price ceiling !

This lens on m4/3 is poor, on aps-c it’ll be even worse. I’d purchased my used sony 50/1.4 for less than $250.00

  4. Why is everyone getting upset? I wish all lenses only cost $1.000 to buy. Now when the price is $1,000 that is a different matter.

  5. recently Zeiss new lens get very bad review for its price and the result starting to turn down high hope users on Zeiss.

while the SLR magic does not have that mature technology like zeiss, i doubt they can deliver such extreme high quality lenses instead of put similar product name Nokton-Noktor and put the price for $1000.

Why not release those sample picture to fish the users taste then only release for pre-order.

    1. The Zeiss 24/2 is actually a superb lens. Unfortunately, two different reviewers got bad samples of it. Good samples are sharp right to the corners, and it’s sharper than the Canon 24LII at f2.

        1. More than two. One of the guys on Fred Miranda’s forum had a bad copy, and I think there was another guy on Dyxum, too.

  6. I think it’s quite a nonsense price for such lens.
The m4/3 version was really poor for image quality, and how can you put it on the same price range as voigtlander or the newly announced Leica 30 1.4 for for m4/3 ??

1k means high quality lens for a prime.

they seem not to have the technology, so I won’t put my hopes for it, better buy a 1.2 or 1.4, pay it half and from known and trusted brands.
