2 % off, that’s exactly equal to the increase in VAT in The Netherlands as of this month. 🙂 or should it be 🙁 ?
I just picked up the NEX-5R today in Calgary, Canada. The Sony store website says Oct. 21, but it’s incorrect.
Really? Alreayd shipping?
Which lens did you get? 16-50?
It comes with the 18-55 mm (the old one), I asked the guy that works at the store (the Camera store) and he said only the NEX-6 comes with the new pancake zoom. He don’t think there’s enough of a difference between the 5R and 6 to justify the $250 difference. So in order for Sony to get more people to buy the 6, they throw in the pancake lense.
Played around with the camera last night, it is freakin SWEET!
Do you know if the 2% promotion will work on already exist pre-orders?
Otherwise I will cancel the pre-order and place a new one – 2% is $56…
Maybe the 99 will ship earlier than anticipated! I know don’t hold your breath.
Who cares.. I was waiting for this camera for 2-3 years allready. I’ve sold A700, bought NEX-5 later NEX-5n. I keept FF A lenses, but A99 is too expensive compared to Nikon D600. No need to wait longer, D600 is here and it is about 25-30% cheaper – still coulnd’t find final price in my country. I am sure it might catch d600 price someday next year. But at this time we might see NEX-9 FF :>
A99 and A mount are doomed. I get a feeling someone in Sony is trying to kill A mount and move customers to E mount.
Well, obviously I care. I cannot wait for a camera that is not made (nex 9) and when it becomes available I may purchase that as well. You obviously live in a different country than me because finding the price was not too difficult. And while the 99 should be be more expensive than the 600 it would be very difficult to compare prices when you cannot find the final price. While we all wait for the impending doom of the A mount I will for the present time enjoy shooting with my 99 . As such, I wish you happy shooting with your 600, it also looks like a fine camera.
+1
@ Naahh
Sure!
that is why Sony has just introduced 14k, 6k priced lenses, not mentioning new Zeiss in the alpha mount.
Meh… 2% reward. To much hassle.Amazon charges taxes. Other online stores don’t. (buydig).
Whoa! 2%!!!!
What, about 5 weeks till we start seeing the reviews on the a99?
I’ll wait till then to make up my mind, but I wish the Zeiss 50 would come before spring 2013.
The a99 sounds cool but Sony needs to have/sell its system of optics and stuff to move Canon and Nikon shooters to the EVA.
Sony could be fast asleep if they’re not seeing the sudden movement towards high quality low-priced lenses. To name just a few: Nikon’s 50 1.8G, 85 1.8G, 28 1.8G and then the soon up coming Sigma 35mm 1.4 in new cladding.
The camera manufacturers are trying to protect the extortionist prices for the 35mm 1.4 and 24mm 1.4 lenses but hopefully soon the Sigma company will make inroads into those monopolistic prices.
Sony had better wake up because their 35mm 1.4 is mediocre and simply a rip off whilst the 24 f2 is too expensive even compared to CaNikon.
Onto another topic altogether – the Action camera doesn’t show any signs of being able to do interval shooting like the GPro does. This is a bad move on Sony’s part if that is the case. This is really such a simple thing to implement it would be stupid not to do. But then, that’s just my opinion.
