The price of the NEX-5R with lens dropped further down to $429 at FocusCamera (Click here). And today Amazon extended again the deal on Sony APS-C A-mount cameras (Click here). They are definitely selling out the cameras before the new generation cameras will be announced.
There is also a very first deal on the brand new [shoplink 20768 ebay]RX100MII at 6ave ($20 off and with free acessories!)[/shoplink]. The also very new RX1R will be in Stock on Sept. 4 at Amazon (Click here).
All deals found via DealsRunner.com (more to find here).

I had to return my RX1R to Amazon after using it for 2 weeks, a couple of big dusts got on the sensor inside of the camera, being a camera with a unchangalbe fixed lens, I couldn’t clean the sensor myself.
I suspect A-mount is dead.
* Sony promised a commitment to Alpha. We assumed this meant A-mount, but newest Alpha cameras are E-mount.
* Almost all new announcements are E-mount. Maybe a few new A-mount announcements in the distant future?
* Big discounts on A-mount to sell them out. Nothing on E-mount.
* Related to point above, if A-mounts sell out, with no new cameras on the horizon, there may even be a period where you cannot buy A-mount cameras within certain tiers, or maybe even at all.
* Given move to mirrorless tech, there’s no advantage to A-mount over E-mount. It’s bigger. It has a longer flange distance, so lenses are harder both to design and to retrofit.
Your wisdom is astonishing.
Claiming “Nothing on E-mount” deals on a post that announces NEX5R discount and a link to Amazon deal on NEX3N. It’s right there in front of you.
Claiming “A-mount is dead” after new A58 camera release, new 50/1.4ZA, new 70-400G, a Pro Full Frame less than a year old, and SAR SR5 for more Alpha just two days ago. It’s right there in front of you.
I can see you put a lot of thought into your claims. Or maybe you like the way large lenses handle on tiny cameras with horrid menus in professional environments.
Yep, the same story over and over and over again. If I would get one cent each time someone suggest that A-mount will be dead or disappear (or both) since 2005 – I’d be a rich man by now!
Also, these new nex lens are not as fast as Alpha lens. Hence Alpha mount will be pro level market. I can imagine the next Alpha to have new 70-200 G2 and XQD card support.
If the camera from the last post here is true, works well & there is a version with ergonomics/size along the lines of the a99 then I am 110% cool with the death of the A mount…. Sony will get my money without a shadow of a doubt.
There has always been a shadow of a doubt before & the thought to jump ship but unless Canikon follow suit sharpish then that will be thorougly dispelled.
Lets hope Sony go into this all guns blazing & don’t hobble their own cameras to try to save other product lines…..
You’re acting like it will kill everything.
Sure, everyone who doesn’t mind overly thick cameras without a flash system and that cause unwanted focus breathing will be sure to love the new Sony.
Might even be a power hog combined with EVF.
Of course there may be some who still prefer native mount stability without the need to entertain gizmoto.

manual of the new 70200GII, can’t tell what has been changed but I’m guessing nano-coating and improved motor
The manual you have shared is the SAL for A mount.
The new lens which is just claimed is an e-mount 70-200. See yesterday’s post.
If Andrea did not make a mistake.
SEL-70400G2 is 70-400mm not 200mm.
Wasn’t that SEL70-400GII i.e. an E mount version of the 70-400GII not the 70-200….
Yes. Sorry, I meant sel70-400
Not 70-200.
6th Ave isn’t a Sony authorized dealer, so you will not be covered by the Sony warranty – FYI
