Short break from rumors! I have to catch up with some lens reviews posted by important reviewers:
Kurt Munger posted the full Sony DT 18-135mm lens review: “What’s actually welcome is the updated ‘SAM’ focusing (quieter and faster than the old ‘SAM’) with well implemented direct manual focusing, and the new metal mount; ok it’s cheap, but better than plastic.”
SLRgear posted the Sigma 30mm review: “It holds its own in our tests, providing a sharp image even wide open at ƒ/2.8, with only slightly notable chromatic aberration in the corners.”
David Kilpatrick tested the old and new Sigma ultra wide zooms: “The test made me even happier with the 8-16mm, especially with the thought that some modification could make it a unique lens to use on the Alpha 900 or a future full frame EVF model (A99)”

We need 24(28)-135mm f4 FF lens, even better than old Minolta design.
And that 50mm f1.4 zeiss. And I would love to have it with SSM, not screw. Please stop with using the “we” instead of “I”.
Edgars,
The old Minolta design lens is 24-105m and f 3.5-4.5 – I found it a stellar perfomer both on film bodies and on especially on crop sensor. Then there is the old trusted 28-135mm f 4-4.5 – a really great quality lens despite its age.
I have used both over the years and both are great. However I am in the process of selling my entire A-mount glass collection on ebay listed under under my handle ‘dvpnyc’ – those who are interested in these lenses and others for a great price – please feel free to look.

Another plastic lens…
…that keeps up with the competition where providing a better, higher quality kit lens comes in. Don’t underestimate the value of this lens. When the D7000 comes with an 18-105 and the T3i comes with the 18-135, having an 18-55 as your only available kit lens begins to seem rather unfortunate. Sony did the correct thing, here.
exactly
Completely agree. This lens maybe plastic, but it is no more plastic than the 18-250 and it is Made in Japan.

Speaking of the A99, is there any new rumors floating around about its performance or any rumors at all. I cannot seem to get enough info on this camera.
Can the break last until Sony announce their A99 in full please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carry on with the NEX rumours but lay off the A99.
Si
I hope not.
