UPDATE: This may be the first A99 image samples???

After the National Photographer Michael Yamashita also another Photographer leaked some A99 images. Mr.Mao is a famous photographer working for Sony china. A few days ago he wrote on his blog that he was working with a new Sony DSLR camera in inner Mongolia. Today he published some photos of this trip on his blog (http://photo.renren.com/photo/231884747/album-814057315?curPage=1). The camera name on the EXIF data was deleted.

I can’t post the pictures from a private closed account on SAR. Please use that login to access the account:

user: sonyalpharumors@163.com
pass: sonyalpharumors

After the login click here to see the picture of the photographer with the A99 camera? And the inner Mongolia pictures are here, here and here. If these are really images taken with the A99 you will see them removed within the next couple of hours.

UDPATE: Our reader Torode posted the three pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/O4IPF (Thanks!)

Reminder: The announcement of the A99 along the NEX-6, A and E-mount lenses is scheduled for September 12th! Stay tuned on SAR on that day! Subscribe the RSS feed and join the Facebook page to not miss any new rumor!

  1. For the love of God,

Please someone download the picture and put them on Flickr…

Admin prob can’t do that, due to Sony’s NDA legalities.

    1. hahaha, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Why, for fck’s sake, hasn’t someone just put these on flikr already? 🙂

  2. 1 week to release and not a certain picture of a99 and only 3 picture of nex-6 and such a big company like Sony!!!
    what a secure world!!!!!

    1. Hm … much ado about nothing it seems. With no Exif data and scaled down to 720px these can be from *any* camera. Thanks anyway for the effort. 🙂

        1. Ah, ok. So at least it’s neither the A900 (that would have a resolution of 6048 × 4032 px) nor the NEX-7 (not capable of 1/5000 sec.), but it might still be the A77. 😉

          1. I suppose one possible way to deduce whether it is a77 or a99 would be to analyze the field of view based on the EXIF. If you have a look at this one (http://i.imgur.com/HMma7.jpg), it appears that a 16mm focal length is being employed. As the aperture is 2.8, the question is whether we are looking at a77 with the 16-50 f/2.8, a NEX with a 16mm f/2.8 or full-frame with the zeiss 16-35.

          2. from my point of view it looks like UWW, so 16mm on full frame 36*24mm, but that might be just what i want to see.

  3. Hey guys, don’t get too excited. The followed discuss in the URL shows those were taken by A900. Yes I speak Chinese.

    LOL. We shall continue waiting…..

      1. It means it’s not an a900, obviously. What insane theory does someone come up with that leads them to believe that a 24mp sensor has to have those exact pixel dimensions? None.

        It means nothing.

  4. lol seriously these picture really high chance is taken by a99! cause only this album/picture he not mention using which camera to take! the picture is so nice! although i know upload will decrease the image quality abit~! but i still can see the different!

  5. Login does not work again (before the link to the picture) …..
PRISM Why not download a photo and do not place in the gallery on the web? Thus, none of which has anything :/ but thanks for the effort ……..

  6. In chinese, he said its a new sony alpha
Look at the picture(a girl ride a horse) and other pictures of grand angle
than look the EXIF, its 24mm 28mm …
    Its FF
    and he said its new
    So??

  7. thanks for the link!
but this will not be photographing the new A99 … this fact certainly Noooo …

We will have to wait a week: o)))) soon ….

  8. Those photos are meaningless – neither good shots nor of good quality.

Even you could find something in those EXIF data – I can write any EXIF you want and make you excited …. 🙂

I first thought there would be some pixe of the camera itself ….

    1. Bump up the saturation if you want colours like that. It’s a trick used to impress non-photographers, people appear to like over-saturated colours, it’s why Nikon jpegs are loved by the masses.

  9. Because of the strong color cast, cross processing style, either these images have been processed in PP or they show the new filter effects inside the suspected A99. Just my observation.

  10. The photos are too downscaled to draw any meaningful conclusions, but the photos look good. I don’t see anything there that’s meaningfully different from the A900, though.

    1. You’re kidding right? These were obviously shot with the new Goat APP, and Fireworks APP. Try THAT witch yo’ a900!

    2. At this size, I consider that a good thing. The only difference we should see is in high ISO performance and without EXIF data and high resolution, you can’t make that judgement from these photos.

The A900 remains an impressive image making tool at 100-800 ISO, let’s hope the A99 retains that IQ and bumps up the high ISO performance to competitive levels.

  11. Haha I’m so glad they did that… AWESOME!

Seen those images before and that design is WAY sexier than a77/99 style. Really wish they could have made it like that. Would have sold on looks alone… PLUS it has iISO hotshoe!

Funny they spelled “believe” wrong at end of vid.

    1. Stylish, but not very functional. With the slanted back the display would be facing downwards in its home position, that would be quite awkward to use (unless you hold the camera over your head most of the time ;)).

  12. Well from the comment that left under the picture, I will assume Mr.Mao is saying the picture is taken by A99 but he can not state that. He was at inner Mongolia taking the sample picture for the new A99 that will be post on Sony website after the release. Also, he answered to some question about the image quality of A99 “The image quality will not let you down, especially this one is a high end product.”

  13. Just tell me this camera will be released with a optimized for video lens. I see a big problem. Lots of good older zeiss glass etc but none of it is optimized for video. The 16-50 is great but it will be inadequate for video because of vignetting. I have this fear that they are going to release a em-mount lens adapter for the alphas.. That would break my heart to move their pro stills line behind their pro-sumer video line.

Mind you if they allow us to use the stabilization in the lens and not do that horrid crop in video mode may well be worth it. Just hope i can have autofocus that works in m-mode with some access to f1.8 aperatures… That would make it all worth while.

Oh and 4:2:2 and cleanr HDMI out and a headphone jack for audio monitoring and ability to turn of AGC… and wireless so I can project video to my iPad. PLEASE! And access to those apps would be sweet like the nex. Built in intravelometer. Ya ill pay for that.
