Wow, that looks pretty sweet!
But will it still fit in my pocket underwater? 😉
I don’t see anything on pricing. A quick google search of “underwater housing sony rx100” reveals we’re talking about $1,100 !
It appears there’s been another product also available from Recsea:

And then add strobes… video monitor… Oy! Me want.
Where is Sony version of GO PRO?
This looks really sweet. I wonder about price too but if it’s reasonable (~$200) this would be a good value. Nice to see quality 3rd party support behind this cam.
Didn’t see my above post, did you?
These housings are precision machined pieces and custom made for each model – buttons on the housing match and interface with the camera controls. Think about how much it would cost to design and produce such a custom item and sell a limited number — and make a profit.
Yeah, this is hot, because under water one does need quality, but usually not an interchangeable lens camera 😉
@wonderbread: Good luck with that. All the Nauticam housings I’ve looked at (NEX 5, GH2, etc.) start at USD $1K and go much higher in price than that. Nonetheless, I’m looking seriously at the RX100 as my next UW camera because the housing is so small, almost Nikonos-like. And it occurs to me that UW cameras are one instance where built-in WiFi (which the RX100 lacks) might prove to be very useful if the data stored on the camera’s memory card could be transferred off the card without one having to open the housing (not that you’d prefer to interrupt a dive session for any length of time to transfer a lot of images or video this way instead of just quickly slapping an empty new card into the camera).
Mmmm…
Naughtycam…
These lens announcements along with the rumoured specs of the A99 is certainly helping Sony up the ladder and eating into the other two Nikon and Canon margins coupled with the unrival Sony Nex system makes Nikon CSC toy like and Canon CSC 2 little 2 late.
